Services
Deeply rooted in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, Sunstone is a beautiful place to taste beautiful wines. Located just 35-minutes north of Santa Barbara, Sunstone seemingly transports visitors to the Provencal French countryside.

Named after the vineyard estate's exposed, sun-dappled shale and stones, Sunstone is a beautifully tranquil retreat where you can enjoy a glass of wine in our lavender and rosemary-filled courtyard, in our stone barrel-aging caves, or perhaps enjoy lunch at our picnic tables shaded by olive and oak trees.Reservations are optional but will ensure faster service during peak visitation days such as weekends.
We have developed four Private Tasting Experiences for groups of 6 or more guests, which will allow your group to have more personalized service in a private setting. A dedicated wine specialist will guide you through our tasting list, giving extensive details about each wine, our organic grape-growing process, and the 25+ year history of Sunstone.
Experience the Sunstone Estate with a stay at the luxurious Sunstone Villa, an exclusive offering for our Club Sunstone Reserve Members. A private residence of our owners, they also share its unique architecture and artifacts with guests. The Villa offer guests the opportunity to see and touch a piece of history.
Sunstone has been committed to growing wine grapes without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fungicides since the initial planting in 1990. Sunstone's estate-grown wines are the product of a vineyard in harmony with the Earth's cycles throughout the year. The fundamental philosophy for producing high-quality wines at Sunstone is to preserve the inherent quality of the grapes at every step in the grape growing and winemaking process.
Whether you are a wine aficionado, casual wine collector, or just appreciate an amazing bottle of wine, Club Sunstone is the best way to experience our exquisite limited production wines. Enjoy a selection of SUNSTONE wines 4 times per year (February, May, August, and November). Members can choose to receive a mix of Red and White Wines, or All Red Wines.

My husband and I visited this winery on Saturday. And although the property itself is stunning, the customer service was a 1 star. We ordered a 6 flight tasting . Our wine educator never told us one thing about the wines we were drinking . He came, he poured and he left. We didn't even make it through a tasting as he didn't come back timely enough to refill the following wines before we had to leave to get to another winery. Great location, stunning property, absolutely terrible customer service !!
Very disappointed in our experience .

I really want to like this place. I mean for yelp's 2 for 1 discount. $20 dollar is unbeatable for 2.

This place gets packed on a Sat! Great atmosphere! Nice background music & you can bring whatever snacks you want to bring! I see Costco croissants people bring here & they have a catering trucks.

My only thing is the server just name the wine. This is chardonnay. This is Rose. Can't you tell us a little more of the flavor? The timing is slightly off. Probably a one time thing but won't return.

Seems nice. We stopped by to see it but decided not to stay. Workers were very helpful and was 6 tastings for about $20. Wines looked like a good mix.

What a wonderful day trip for a Sunday afternoon. Located 2 hours north of Los Angeles off the 101 Freeway is Sunstone Winery. The scenic drive was spectacular on this clear blue sky day.

Once off the freeway we drove up a windy road full of green lush trees, mountains and we even passed a lake. I felt like I was on my way to Big Bear and was getting excited as we got closer to our destination.

On our final stretch towards the vineyard, I felt like I was in Oregon. Spectacular views and lots of greenery! There was plenty of parking and when we got out of the car we spotted two hawks flying

What an experience you don't want to miss! Beautiful, family friendly, and delicious wines! We switched it up this year from our "traditional" Solvang experience and spent some time at the winery. What an enjoyable experience! The staff is knowledgeable and so accommodating - much appreciated!

I/we would definitely recommend this fun experience and will definitely come back! The grounds and wine cellar are stunning. They did a really great job either the design. They love what they do and it shows!

FYI, there is a good truck there to purchase charcuterie and other items

Very nice place. Unfortunately we went in rainy weather so the indoor seating area was a little cold. I like the fact that they serve their whites chilled. Nice variety of wines. The young man that served us was very friendly and helpful. Can't say the same for the lady. When we walked in she just looked at us, didn't acknowledge us. It wasn't until the young man came in that we were served.

4th time to this winery and great experience every time! Their cabs have some nice legs on them! The staff are always very welcoming and warmly tells you about their wines.
We asked for a few splashes in a glass to decide on a bottle to drink and they happily tasted us on a few. All four times over the course of 3 years and they always had some kind of food offering or a food tr

I've been going to this winery for many years. It's a really chill spot and is close to LA so you can do a day trip. The wines are ok and nothing super special or mind bowling. I think due to Covid, the tastings were more limited and we are only allowed in the front and picnic areas. I loved doing the wine cellar tastings and touring the vineyards, which is great for pictures. Will definitely be back due to accessibility.

If you are a serious wine drinker looking for quality and not just looking to get lit, then you may want to look somewhere else.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon. The servers were really friendly and helpful. But Sunstone is not for us and was truly disappointing. Here's my take:

1. The tasting and seating area is enclosed and away from any sort of vineyards. It was gravel and turf next to the hillside with olive trees planted throughout.

2. The Chateau that they talk about being brought over from Europe is up a private driveway and closed to the public.

3. It was a party vibe and

Not the greatest wine, but definitely nice ambiance. The winery is modeled after a older French Villa with hidden wine caves and multiple tasting areas. The only inside area I found open was near the entrance -a small air conditioned bar area that sat around 8 people, sold small gifts and chilled wine to go. Looking at the pictures of the Castle like Villa, I was expecting something quite bigger with a little more to explore indoor. I did notice that the website offered private tastings with higher quality wines, plates of food, and areas not open to the regular visitors. I do wonder if certain

Other than the fact that this was less than 10 minutes away from Solvang, we were intrigued by this winery which plays host to Château Picard (iykyk). The winery is situated in the courtyard below said structure though. Not a total fail since the grounds were beautiful! Reservations were made via email which could be tedious given the back-and-forth. Tables were all outdoor during our visit. We had a wooden table underneath the tree and were right next to the DJ. I was vibing with the house music especially them Kaskade tunes. I could see how this would be off-putting to some though. Volume wasn

Beautiful wines, beautiful weather and setting, plus lovely service made for an enjoyable visit here last weekend. Shannon was our kind and knowledgeable host who guided us from some delicious whites to some pretty magnificent reds. MacReeves took home a bottle of their 2019 Rapsodie.
A food truck stood nearby to feed the hungry. Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time, and who could blame them, given how relaxed and easygoing the environment is and how sweetly the wines flowed.

Ambiance is everything here at Sunstone. A quick Google search and you'll find plenty of celebrities have had their wedding here at Sunstone Winery.

Sunstone is very large and has several various buildings. During COVID we were restricted to a large crushed granite patio that was shaded by the most beautiful large and shady Oak trees.

The weather was simply perfect in late March. We chose Sunstone as a first stop, and glad we did. On arrival there were only two other parties. As we left, every table was filled.

Something I wasn't expecting about our visit was the amazing wildlife

Visited this Winery this past weekend and staff was accommodating and attentive during our wine tasting.

Plenty of outdoor seating that is really nice to hang out and chill, plenty of parking as well.

I only wish their wine selection for the day would have been good enough for a whole bottle, not sure, but most their reds tasted the same.

Lovely little spot that really makes you feel like you are in Italy! The location is beautiful and the staff is very kind.

We enjoyed our tasting, and loved how our tasting waitress showed us all the art, with explanation, on their bottles! We got the charcuterie with meat and it was the perfect pairing to their wines!

Minus one star for me just because I found the winery to be a little too trendy, with house music playing when we arrived. The vibe of the winery is so beautiful and the music dulled it a bit.

My bf and I came here this past Saturday. We made our reservation online. If you do come make sure you have a reservation, especially on weekends. Our original reservation time was 1pm. We drove up from OC and ended up getting here pretty fast. They were able to seat us at 11:50pm. There is plenty of seating and everything is spaced out. If you check in on yelp you get a free tasting! The wine, service and atmosphere was amazing! They also had a food truck there if you are hungry. My bf and I got the surf and turf burger and the salmon sandwich. We got a side of potatoes too but then realized the

Wine tasting while staying at the Santa Ynez Inn. It was September and 119 degrees in the valley. The wineries were doing their best to accommodate and we did our best to drink fast.
Good wine, beautiful property and live music. A great way to spend the day, despite the extreme heat.
They serve food but I found it interesting that you can bring your own food to a winery, which many tables had done.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
