Not only have they taught me valuable self defense lessons, they also gave me a boost of confidence I never felt before. Without Master Gehring, Mr. Ratay, and Master Vanmaele, I wouldn't be the person I am today. They encourage you to do better every day and make you feel as if you can take on the world.

If you’re considering signing your child or yourself up, stop thinking. Just do it! My son has learned so much. It’s been amazing watching all of the kids work hard, learn new moves/skills, and put it all together. It seriously blows my mind to see where these kids are at now with their karate skills! My favorite lesson my son learned is about respect-for others and himself. He is more confident. These teachers believe in their students. I think it makes their students believe in themselves.

My family started with Master Gehring and Master Ratay when they opened their doors for business 20 years ago. My oldest son, Nick, received his 6th degree black belt in 2020 and will become a Master in 2021. Additionally, there are four more of us with different black belt statuses. In the near future the third generation will start their journey.

Mentor ATA has been an anchor for our daughter during this past year. The folks at Mentor ATA have gone above and beyond to keep our kids engaged, focused and moving forward with their goals when everything else in their lives is upside down. The instructors here are fun, attentive and dedicated to making sure the students strive to be the best person they can be both at Mentor ATA and out in the world. We've been members here for over 3 years, and it's been an amazing experience. The staff and instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely care about the students.
It's been an incredible journey to watch both of our children grow in confidence, physical ability, and discipline. I also started the adult classes for myself, and it's been fantastic as well. Well worth the money!
