Citizen Apartments

Had a amazing first experience, excited how how residency will be once we become residents! Only downside is I wish the front doors were heavier as they seemed thin and hollow and also wish the gym was slightly bigger to offer more equipment for residents for the price that is offered.

I went to tour and apartment, but before I did do that we went through things with paper and stuff and the lady was just so rude. One of the employees looked at me and gave like a " it's always the one customer that comes in before we get ready to close look" They had 20-30 more mins before closing time , so there's nothing to be huffing and puffing or tapping your nails on the desk for. Not truly a smoke free complex. 1 Year long tenants - The apartment complex and apartments are nice and for the most part clean. The pool, gym, and clubhouse are great. This is a pet friendly community, but remains clean and all pets here are well behaved. Also love the trash fairies! Unfortunately this is presented as a smoke-free community, and every tenant is required to agree to this upon signing their lease, so management has the ability to enforce this policy. Unfortunately this policy is not actually enforced, and our apartment and clothing smell like an ash tray. We haven’t used our master

Beautiful apartments, great place to live but be careful when you finish your lease here, they don’t contact you if owe them money, I have a balance of 100 dollars and they never contact me and send me to a bill collector, management is unprofessional.

Victoria is the best!!!! She made my apartment hunting in Newport News such a positive experience. Not only are the apartments and amenities beautiful but the personal attention we got from Victoria while we were there looking and after we left was exceptional. Loved my entire experience and I’m moving in!!!!

Everything about this community is phenomenal. We went on a tour with Nancy who was amazing from start to finish. From the office goodies to the apartment amenities, everything was great. Thank you to Nancy for patiently answering our questions and showing us the beautiful apartment homes on your property. The apartments are perfectly crafted and will definitely wow you! I was especially impressed by their ‘environmental’ policy to help enforce all pet owners to respect the community and pick up pet waste.

From the moment we walked through the door we loved it here. Jasmine welcomed us with freshly brewed Starbucks and a variety of candies. We had an appointment with Nancy and she couldn’t have been nicer! She was professional, friendly and very informative.
The grounds were impeccable and beautifully landscaped. The apartments are gorgeous with all upgrades imaginable. This community has literally thought of everything with their design. Highly recommend this place and the people make it extra nice!!

My husband and I moved in 4 months ago and we’ve loved living at Alta Citizen. The community is beautiful, amenities are great, and the staff is wonderful. Each time we go to the office we feel welcomed. Maurice knows both my husband and I by name. It’s such a simple thing but makes us feel valued as residents. We would like to get a 2 bedroom in the near future and looked at other communities due to price. However, in the end we decided we were just not comfortable living anywhere else. We feel safe, valued, and happy at Alta Citizen. Definitely recommend!

Nancy in the rental office is simply amazing. She did her job times 10 and was extremely welcoming and comforting and truly didn’t make it seem like she was trying to urge you to lease. She showed me the model and all the amenities. This complex is so beautiful and it looks so secure and affordable for what all is included as far as the amenities and the beautiful home. Hopefully I will call this home soon❤️

So happy to live here!!! Brand new apartments, amazing Appliances, close to everything and next to a lovely trail surrounded by NATURE! Love it! The Staff is amazing, always answering your questions and trying to help! Oh, also, is Pet friendly! 🐶😍
