Shoyu is NOW OPEN for dine-in service! Our hours are now 11:30am to 9:30pm on Monday thru Thursday, 11:30am to 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday, and Noon to 9:30pm on Sunday. Come visit us! A pan-Asian banquet awaits visitors to ShoYu Chinese & Japanese Cuisine, spanning far more than just the Middle Kingdom and the Land of the Rising Sun.
There's plenty of Chinese and Japanese fare, of course-dozens of house specialty sushi rolls, piping hot stir-fries, and crispy egg rolls, crab rangoon, and fried shrimp populate the menu. But then there's Thai flavors as well, and unique entrees such as the Grand Marnier walnut shrimp, finished with orange juice and grand marnier.

Yum! I love this place! I always order from grubhub. It's affordable for all this food! $6 for 2 porkbelly buns! Please these buns are my favorite I love them more than anything. The porkbelly is so juicy and tender and the bun is so soft. The sushi 10/10! They came in a lunch combo I think but I forgot which one

I was on my way home from a long day at work, and skipped lunch. Decided to unwind using Yelp reviews and my commute path to make this choice. I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice establishment. Very cozy chairs at the sushi bar. Wonderful large screen TVs at the sushi v
Bar. I think a JackieChan movie was playing. Could have hung out there for for hours!!! The service was attentive and polite, sushi chef very kind as well.
The food was tasty, ingredients fresh, and presentation, superb! Would visit again.

My boyfriend and I wanted sushi in the afternoon and since Kowloon's sushi wasn't available yet we were forced to seek elsewhere. Shoyu came up in my search so we decided to give it a shot. The sushi was very good! It was extremely fresh. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

We really like their sushi, have ordered takeout several times and will continue to. But today I was in the mood for Chinese, and I ordered shrimp in lobster sauce, one of my favorites. It was utterly disappointing :-( The meat wasn't seasoned well, the sauce tasted entirely like nothing, and the shrimp was chewy and also without flavor. I wouldn't have known that it was meant to be shrimp had I not known what I was eating. Wow - had no idea you could make this dish so poorly.
4 stars as their sushi is excellent though.

This place is top notch! It might not look like anything special from the outside, but inside is a stylish, spacious restaurant. They recently renovated, expanded, and redesigned. The table spacing is very Covid friendly, you'll feel safe dining here. The fish is always high quality and fresh, and the apps/desserts don't disappoint either. Can't wait to come back.

I was here before the covid 19 thing started while on my way back from LA. The Japanese food here is not as good as California but it's definitely not bad at all for the price and great service. I would say it reminds me very much of Taiwanese style sushi, and as such it's in first place. It's also a great pit stop near enough to Logan airport to not be concerned about missing your flight and probably the best sushi within 10 miles if not going in to the city. On a scale of 1-10 the decor and presentation of food is a 7/8. Good enough to feel cozy but no need to dress up.

Once a year after returning home on vacation at the Logan airport we always went to the Kowloon restaurant (tradition). Last year the food was disgusting. We decided to try somewhere new. I looked on Yelp and found this hidden Gem with 4.5 stars and great reviews.
Atmosphere was very nice and clean. They've been there 4 years now and we've never even heard of it. Service was impeccable.
We ordered 2 different types of Sushi, PuPu Platter for 2, Coconut Shrimp and Vegetable Lo Mein. The chicken wings from the PuPu platter were the biggest ones I've ever seen and were delicious!

They have excellent salmon sushi. My only issue with the delivery is that they put the warm food in the same bag as the sushi. They do put a cardboard layer on between but I would prefer them to be in separate bags.
Had the salmon sushi tidbits, the spicy seafood salad and another role I can't remember the name of but all were good.

Shoyu Chinese & Japanese Cuisine
A Poem
Down on Route 1 Saugus there's a place to see
To get your fill of food, Japanese and Chinese
It's nice, has great options and many choices, it's true
So going here for a good meal is the thing to do
I could go on and on about each and every dish
Like the variety of maki, chicken dishes, more than you can wish
It is worth pointing out that their garlic noodles are divine
And honestly their cocktails are amazing and pretty damn fine
It's a cool place to hang, to try new things
And I guarantee once you go, your tummy will sing

Don't let the strip mall facade fool you, this place is great! They a nice selection of Chinese favorites, creative Japanese maki rolls, sashimi and sushi , and some Thai standards. The service was quick and cheerful. The decor is clean and modern and inviting. Our food came quickly, even on a Saturday evening along busy US 1.
We both had the hot and sour soup which was quite yummy and brothy (not that yucky gloppy corn starch filled mess). The pork was nice and tender, and overall a nice level of spice and smokey sesame oil.
My husband had the Mandarin chicken and broccoli. He ordered
