No better panadería in California with better selection or quality of authentic Mexican treats.

I live in Northern California now but grew up in Pasadena where I used to have easy access to this bread. Now my parents specifically drive to this panadería from El Monte to bring me a bag when they visit. Every single piece is unique in texture and design. Every single piece is worth the price. I'm so sad I don't have them near me (honestly probably good for my waistline haha) but rejoice at every time I get the delight of eating one of their treats. Thank you! Highly recommend if you

Extremely expensive and the ladies that work there aren't friendly . Payed $5 for two sweet breads the first time. Second time I went I payed $19 for 7 sweet breads . That's ridiculous expensive for a Mexican bakery . Same bread will be more than half off that price elsewhere. For a ghetto part of town with bland sweet bread and cold customer service, definitely not worth coming here

If I could give 0 stars I would! So upsetting! Bread had flys and looked like it was there for a while. Poor customer service! Young man ask me if I had put hand sanitizer on after seeing me put some on! That isn't even the upsetting thing is that he still had the audacity to look at me up and down just because I'm a plus size! NEVER AGAIN!

This company is slowly dying. They've been closing locations through the years, and reducing their bread variety due to lower sales(?). This location could use a remodel to compete with the King Taco and Monarca located a few blocks away. Some employees are not the friendliest and if they're in a bad mood they'll show it.

I love this panadería we've been going here for years and generations of my family have gone to buy bread here. A lot of the comments here are about the price of you want quality bread spend the money and don't complain bc this bread is by far the best better than la monarca the two lady's that were there were so nice and I appreciate the fact that they are taking this pandemic very serious they will enforce social distancing for EVERYONES safety thank you for remaining open !

Since Dec 13 1983 i have been going to buy fresh bread at El Pavo I know the Manager and they have 2 location one in Glendale. Service always excelent very helpful I you go to a bakery get your fresh bread and leave these employees are baking inside and making cakes OK..Yes, there doing the job of 3 people bakery business is very slow is not like your liquor store. No more freedom to pick up your own bread now they serve it to you ....yes, Now you are going to make a line and wait..

I'm always very happy with the service I get from this bakery. I order often for potlucks and such at work and regardless of how late I order the day before, they always have my order ready for me at 6am. I've ordered delicious Tres Leches cakes and fresh orders of conchas and pan dulces. The ladies that work there are always very friendly and professional. I can always rely on this bakery.

Gave a homeless person a dollar to buy what looked.like sweet bread and they refused service after taking but not returning his money. Hope the dollar was worth it because they lost my business also. I would never allow my business to be run like this, you can bring my pennies, homeless people's money, foreign money, it's all good to me and you shouldn't be so judgemental. You never know if you'll ever be down on your luck. Didn't they teach you to treat others the way you want to be treated. Obviously not!

Really good and not expensive bread but you have to get there early because they sell out fast and your choices of bread will be minimal I believe they bring in more until noon and a 3rd time at evening but aren't too sure exactly the time. Some of the ladies that work there are a little rude and answer your questions a bit in a sarcastic way. There's a parking on the back of the Bakery but I always find parking on the street.

Great Hispanic bakery. They've got it all from traditional conchas to croissants. Parking in the back is hard to spot but spacious. Price is good for fresh bakes.

The bread is delicious, however the ladies working there need some customer service skills. No eye contact and you get dry answers that leaves you with more questions, it seems they're not there to assist customers and they hired them to collect money

Honestly the softest and best pan dulce around. Saddened when they closed down the one in highland park a few years ago. Now we drive all the way to Lincoln hgts for el Pavo, but it is worth it. You can tell it's fresh. Never stale.

I had the worst experience on Thanksgiving! When I went to the bakery to pick up an order (that I already paid for) it wasn't ready... When I asked why it wasn't ready, I was told they were busy and they sold out. I was super annoyed.

I called their corporate office, I spoke to Manager of all the bakeries. She was extremely rude. The manager responded to my story with "your calling me a week later... what can I do for you?"

I'm never going back.

I love this bakery it's better than King Taco which is close by. They have various kinds of bread sometimes not. The bread is fresh. They also sell cakes but can be hard and sometimes they sell in pieces as well. They take orders for cakes too.

I come here solely for the pumpkin empanadas! Ok, I'll grab a puerquito and an elote as well just to not be racist. Just make sure you don't park in the little market parking lot next door. This lady (manager?) will come out ready to chop you up with her machete. Use the tiny King Taco parking lot instead or street parking if you find any.

The pumpkin turnovers are overstuffed silly like nowhere else. You can taste the lard goodness as you bite into them. This is no place for pasty-faced vegans. They will encounter organ meats and chicharrones decorating the cash register area
