La Flor De Yucatan
At La Flor de Yucatan, we are a full service bakery. But we are more than just that. We're a family owned business specializing in Mayan Cuisine and baked goods from the region of Yucatan. Our range of tantalizing baked goods include our most famous and delicious Hojaldra (Ham & Cheese Pastry), as well as Patas, Tutis, Picones, and much more!

We also carry many imported goods from Yucatan, including El Gallo Azul cheeses such as Edam, Patagras, & Nordik, Habanero Peppers, Cristal Soda, Charritos, Donde products such as Globitos, and assorted marinades, such as Achiote (Annatto Seed Paste). Come and enjoy a mouthwatering cuisine that you will not find in your local bakery, but only at our location in Los Angeles, California.
Services
La Flor de Yucatan was founded by Antonio Burgos A.K.A "Lindo", and his wife Rosy. The business began when in the late 60's, Antonio baked out of his home kitchen in Pasadena, and would then sell the items door to door and later out of his first vehicle. His baked goods were so popular that he opened up his first store in 1971 on Pico & Union in Los Angeles, and four years later in 1975, he moved into the bakery's current location.
Today, Three Kings Day remains an important holiday in Mexico. In addition to the gift giving aspects of the day there is also a culinary treat that is specific to the Holiday. Known as 'Roscas de Reyes' (King's Cake or King's Wreath), this holiday dessert offers much in the way of symbolism. It is round to signify a King's crown and colorfully decorated to signify jewels on a crown.
The culinary delights of the Yucatecan cuisine are made of an exquisite blend of flavors, both Mexican and European. A bit of history will explain the strong European influence: there was a time when the Yucatan Peninsula was considered a land to which access was difficult and far removed from the rest of Mexico.
Suckling pork meat marinated with achiote & sour orange juice, wrapped & baked in banana leaves. Served with pickled red onions. Baked, pie-like tamale, filled with a creamy red sauce, veggies, & a mixture of chicken with pork. Fried, crispy hand-made tortilla filled with black beans, topped with lettuce, shredded charbroiled turkey, cucumbers, tomatoes, & pickled red onions.
We at La Flor de Yucatan understand the importance of celebrating the special events of life. We know that special occasions call for something unique, to celebrate the special people, days, and events in our lives. We offer a diverse CAKE MENU, including our NEW COCKTAIL CAKE BAR. Our house specialty, and most popular is Tres Leches (Three Milks).

Have grown up with Flor de Yucatán. Their pastelitos are must haves for my family's Christmas, and the hojaldras are special treats that bring back childhood memories. Great pastries and tasty food. You'll be glad you visited.

Super friendly and quick service. I came because they were recommended for tamales and they did not disappoint. You can get a mixed platter to try everything and if you come around Día de Los Muertos you can get specialty tamale and pan/sweet bread.

This is a small store that sells Mexican food traditional to the Yucatan Peninsula. I usually go there to get charritos botaneros, hojaldra de Jamón y queso, pastries and queso de bola which is a Gouda cheese that has a stronger flavor compared to the ones sold here. They also sell food, my favorite is their tamales, they are very tasty. I usually order and ship to family in Texas and Michigan. La flor de Yucatán is a little place that brings me back to my childhood.

Absolutely loved this place! My family & I are from Yucatan & they most definitely have the authenticity down! They even got imported items straight from Mexico! The gentleman who assisted my parents in our big order was super knowledgeable and an amazing worker! I can not wait until my next visit to California so I can get more bread! PS: they also do shipping but call beforehand as he stated to ensure they have the items and ensure shipping options!

If you're looking for an authentic Yucatán food experience, look no further than this bakery. I've been searching for this style of Mexican food since returning from the Yucatán peninsula, and there's not much in the space out here in LA.
The cochinita with pickled red onions takes me right back to those memories.
The cheese empenadas were am explosion of yumminess
It was concluded with a perfect desert. A baked pastry filled with sweet potato and sprinkled with coconut flakes. Heavenly with a cup of coffee or by itself.
In addition, the warmth and courtesy from the staff makes it even more
