Colonial Commons Apartments

This complex has horrible management. No one wants to answer the phone when you call during business hours, they take 6 months to complete work orders, they have horrible communication issues, and overall do not recommend living here. Save your money and rent somewhere else.

I moved into a one bedroom apartment May 1st 2021. Prior to move in everything looked good and I was excited for my first solo residence. On the day I was to move in they failed to tell me about several things (cashiers checks, FPL, insurance) I needed to have done prior to moving in, annoying but survivable. They also failed to mention the monthly trash fee. That aside the unit is nice and clean. Everything was ok besides the washer, but I didn’t know this. I ran several loads of laundry before realizing that my clothes were not coming out clean. I investigated and realized the machine is starting

Was visiting a friend on the first floor. Guy on the second floor was complaining on his balcony about something. We asked him to tone it down because we were trying to enjoy ourselves and he decides to be even more rude and louder.

I moved in a month ago and this is by far the worst apartment complex ever. Let’s begin by the fact I’m currently locked in my bedroom because my bedroom door handle has been broken since I moved and after putting in only three requests and waiting weeks it finally broke completely. The maintance team is non existent and does not come for weeks after putting in numerous requests for things. I moved in with broken blinds and waited three weeks for them to only end up having the wrong blinds and having to go pull used ones from a apartment to put in mine. If I could give this apartment complex negative stars I would. They never send anyone to fix things they are responsible for in your apartment and they are nasty to you on top of that. They also try and make a quick buck off of you on top of the rent. Don't move here. It's honestly not worth the headache. Pay more for a complex that is worth your money and will assist you when you need it.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This has to be hands down the worst place I've ever rented from. The so called management in this place is laughable at best. Tina needs to work somewhere far away from people, no customer service skills whatsoever. Upon speaking to her to inquiry as to the incredibly high charges she was very rude and unprofessional, extremely sarcastic and unwilling to even break down the charges. I looked at 2 other apartment communities (brand new communities) before going to Colonial Commons. The manager here is, by far, the friendliest person ever. Thank you Tina for taking your time and showing us around.
The apartments are beautiful and spacious. Compared to the other apartments Colonial Commons has much larger rooms lots of storage! We were VERY impressed! Thank you again Tina you made us feel very welcome.

Sounds like Tina needs to be terminated. Bad customer service and people skills will ruin any business. TREAT PEOPLE WITH THE SAME RESPECT THAT YOU EXPECT! TALK TO PEOPLE WITH RESPECT, THEY CAN GO SPEND THEIR MONEY ANYWHERE BUT CHOOSE TO RENT FROM THIS PLACE. SHOW SOME APPRECIATION

Tina is amazing! They've made the move in process extremely quick and painless. My apartment looks brand new and my neighbors are friendly. The walls are basically soundproof, since it's all concrete constructed. Maintenance works really hard on keeping everything clean and in great shape. I highly recommend Colonial Commons to anybody that is looking for a home in Fort Myers :-)

My updated review- from 5 to 3 stars: I've now been here for about 2 years. When I first moved in to this community I loved it- the staff were personable and friendly, everything was kept clean, and maintenance was fast, friendly and effective. Late in 2017 they shifted management companies, and it went downhill FAST. There is still debris from hurricane Irma in the lake, the breezeways are constantly filthy, the gym scanning system was down for like 2 months and nobody knew what was going on (preventing all exercise after 6pm), and no one, NO ONE, ever answers the phone.
