The Lakeshore Inn is not your typical chain hotel. Along with beautiful lake views, an ideal downtown location, and inviting rooms, we are a quirky sixties hotel that has been a long-time local favorite. Newly remodeled in spring 2021 we are fresh and new inside yet still a small, local hotel with a different vibe.
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful parks, and guests can stroll to Lake View Village that has fabulous restaurants and wonderful shopping. The hotel is in the heart of Lake Oswego just 10 minutes South of Portland and 5 minutes from Lewis & Clark College. Lakeshore Inn is one of six waterfront, oceanfront, and ocean view hotels owned by Westover Inns.

Motel was nice, on the Lakeshore obviously, was downtown so you can hear the traffic. We had two big problems. The first was that they put us in the room right above the ice machine and so we listened to a very loud motor running all night long. We called down to the desk and they said it would eventually turn off which it did not. Also, we went out and had a nice dinner and put our leftovers in the refrigerator before we went to bed and when we got up this morning it had shut off and defrosted and everything was wet and warm. We definitely will not be going back or recommending anyone else go

Location , location, location! This was our second time at the Lakeshore Inn on Lake Oswego. We booked room 44, a two bedroom suite with kitchen. The view was serene and beautiful. The kids loved the train passing by at night. Its so close to restaurants, a park and Whole Foods. Its not super new or recently remodeled but it’s clean and not run down. Very nice trip.

Nice older place right on Lake Oswego. We have stayed there for years. It hasn't changed much. Some upgrading along the way. The little swimming pool is right by the lake. Nice in summer. This trip we were helped by some very nice, friendly staff members. That has been a change for the better compared to previous trips. The property changes ownership from time to time. They seem to be allowing pets right now. That was not always the case. I would check first. We had a bad experience with their not allowing pets under previous ownership. All in all, very good value right now.

The location was stellar and the staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the insulation in the walls and floor were less than ideal. We could hear someone below us snoring loudly and the couple above us squeaking the mattress. The lack of a counter top and shelving in the bathroom made getting ready awkward. A vanity mirror of some sort for make up application would have been beneficial. It was very clean with the exception of the extensive grime on the hairdryer cord. The dog bowls, biscuits, basket, and towel are a nice touch but are made to accommodate only very small dogs.

Suite, new carpet, clean and comfortable. However, I did not read anywhere about the TRAIN every night that came well after midnight, RIGHT UNDER OUR WINDOW. Extremely loud with the horns from nearby intersections. Friday night there were three different trains. I would suggest to the owner windows for noise, triple-glazing, on railroad side for their next remodel.

The room was appropriate, could use a little updating but was as expected and pictured on their website. My real concern was the lack of assistance post stay. We left a set of headphones in the room. We called the front desk and had to leave a message- no return call. My wife stopped in to ask the receptionist about the left item and he said he had to get to the manager. He left the counter went into the back and reappeared. Moments late the manager appeared, got coffee and went back into the back. Absolutely no attempt was made to address my wife. About a week ago I used the contact us feature

Well, this is the second stay here in a year. The first time my sheets were so old they were all nubby and scratchy with a hole in them.
Note: I wrote them four days ago requesting info ... on the day before my stay - no one still has answered - bad customer service, for sure.
The Courtside room i stayed in a year ago was big and i didnt know it had a kitchenette, which was great as a traveller! So good points for that!
This time I splurged for the Lakeside room, considerably more, and was SO disappointed. It was for an anniversary and about as UNROMANTIC as could be, save we could

The Lakeshore Inn, I've always wanted to stay here but it's a 15-minute drive from my house so when would you have the opportunity? Fast forward to Covid-19 and social distancing and wanting a change of scenery. The bonus is you can support and shop local while doing so.
We checked in on a Friday night and it looked pretty full. Although, I rarely saw other guests as we hung out on our balcony most of the time. We picked up take out one night at a local pizza place.
The two queen rooms were nice and had a kitchenette which I appreciated as we ate in both nights. I enjoyed having

We were pleasantly surprised by Lakeshore Inn as we stay often at their sister hotel, Looking Glass Inn, in Lincoln CIty. Lakeshore is a lovely boutique hotel that is closed to shops/restaurants yet casual enough to take our dog for a nice walk by the lake or to the Willamette River. We will be coming back again!

We vacated our room in the middle of the night due to air quality that was so bad we could not breathe. Never had this happen in 50 years of travel anywhere. The air-conditioner lighted up a red warning light that it was in need of a filter...the room smelled of mildew covered by some kind of peppermint deodorant. The office manager was understanding and cancelled our room charges. There were no other rooms available (mercifully). We received a very helpful reception at the nearby Crown Plaza at 3 am. We enjoyed an excellent stay there...good breakfasts, excellent hotel.

Unimpressed with the dormitory-like room and amenities rivaling a Motel 6. Despite a claimed update of paint, furniture, and fixtures this entire hotel has the structure of a older 1980's motel. The windows, walls, and floors are thin enough where you can hear people walking and talking outside or walking above you. Towards 12pm- nighttime the sun sets towards the sliding glass door allowing the room to heat up uncomfortably. In the single bedroom plan the air conditioner is a wall-mounted unit that is older and has air leaks on the side. It is mounted next to the sliding door and clearly

Stayed here for the weekend while visiting family in West Linn and it was a nice little place to stay. The rooms are a little outdated but the view makes up for it. We had a balcony right over the water which made a nice place to enjoy coffee in the mornings. Check-In was smooth and easy due to the excellent staff. Good walking distance to a number of eateries and different places for drinks. Will definitely be back to stay at Lakeshore Inn in the future!

I'm torn about how to review the Lakeshore Inn. After reading so many great reviews, I had high hopes. And nearly every one was met. The location is fantastic, with great dining options in easy walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly comfortable.
But the trains at night! I have gathered, from staff the next morning and from re-reading the reviews, that the trains do not present a problem every night. Some nights, guests just get unlucky. On our stay, THREE trains woke us in the middle of the night. And by woke, I mean loud honking directly next to the

In response to Heather Z's reply to my review. I have stayed there for about once a month for the past 5 years and in the past 6 months about twice a month usually at a minimum of three days or more and spent several thousands of dollars over the years there, referred people to your hotel etc. Up until this last stay, I have never made a complaint to you or anyone at the the Lakeshore inn, nor have I ever received a complaint about me. I have noticed in the past few months that it seemed like things were going downhill, issues that other people have already posted about, such as being able

A wonderful older hotel with reasonable prices right on the water. The two top-floor suites are a bit musty and could use an overhaul, probably they don't get used as much. Our double queen room one floor below was really nice, quiet, clean. Great remodeled bathroom with a lovely deep tub ... however the water wasn't real hot so that could be improved. Staff was very helpful in the late evening when we arrived, but a different woman was surly the next morning. Can't win 'em all.
Easy walking in the quiet town to good eats, and nice walks around the lake as well.
Funny that

The Lake Shore Inn has an amazing location, friendly staff and large rooms. Although it is very well maintained, the bathrooms could really use a remodel. Mine was clean, but there was a ring of rust around the faucet. Space for toiletries was limited, and the toilet placement was awkward.
In addition, in my second floor room I experienced a lot of noise from adjacent rooms. I could hear a television constantly, and when the people in the room one floor up walked around, it was quite loud (and accompanied by lots of squeaking floor boards). One morning I had no choice but to wake up earlier than

What a little gem! Picked this hotel as it was very close to Lewis and Clark. Doesn't look like much from the backside when you arrive. Nicely appointed office and sweet staff.
Checked into my room and wow! It was huge! Opened my sliding glass door onto the deck and I was right on the beautiful lake. Stunning view and night and when I woke up in the morning.
I had forgotten my toothbrush and the hotel had complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste. Nice little muffin, juice and coffee set up as well.
Stay here if you want a nice big room and a beautiful view.
