Knight Hill Winery
There are no pretenses here. We are small and committed to an artful conversion of grapes to wine; and to having fun. We make elegant red wines as well as crisp and delicious whites. Our grapes are from the best growers in the valley as well as our estate-grown Syrah and Cabernet Franc. When you approach Knight Hill Winery, the first thing you notice is the awesome, 360-degree view.

As you enter the winery (formerly a horse barn), the aroma of fermenting/aging wine takes over and you find yourself smack dab in the middle of this winemaking adventure. We are honored by the support of friends and neighbors who can often be seen pitching in to get the job done. Please take part in our adventure-bring a picnic, come to an event, or join the Knight Hill Wine Club for great wine all year around.
Services
Can we bring our dog to the tasting room? Absolutely! Dixie, our purebred German Shepard, is the friendliest thing on Earth and is eager to show your furry friend around. You can stay down the road at the Village Valley Inn in Zillah (911 Vintage Valley Parkway). Or, spend some time on the hill with us, just steps from our tasting room.
FROM SEATTLE: Take I-90 east toward Ellensburg. There turn off onto I-82 to toward Yakima and take exit 50 and go left over the freeway. Go straight to the stop sign at Yakima Valley Hwy. Cross Yakima Valley Highway into Buena and continue until you reach Knight Hill Rd on your right. Turn right and go all the way up the hill to the T at Lombard Loop Rd.

My friend and I had such a wonderful time at this winery. The view was amazing. The wine tasting was wonderful, and probably one of the best priced wine tasting I've been to. It was $10/pp for a tasting of 8 wines (waived with a bottle purchase). The owners run the whole thing from their property so the whole experience was very personable. I would definitely recommend this place.

I'm not one to usually write a bad review, but...Terrible customer service...no welcome/hello.
Explained nothing about the wine, you could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet during the tasting. Didn't thank us for coming in or paying & acted like she would much rather be somewhere else.
I won't return, but any wine or recommend to others...

Terrible customer service, not welcoming, she acted as if we were inconveniencing her. She didn't even try to explain the different types of wine to us or make any effort to be nice. Will not return to this winery next time.

Winery at the end of the road...great way to end the day. Terry was very hospitable and friendly. We enjoyed all of the wines with the late harvest "accident" being our fave! Nice view in a comfortable, relaxing spot. Not fancy or pretentious, the bathroom is a port-a-potty, no big deal for us. Great wine club that lets you pick the wines you want and includes a one night stay.

We are newbies to Yakima and Knight Hill was our first winery experience. Terry was the perfect ambassador for our entry into the area wine biz and we found his wine quite pleasing. Yes, we come with wine baggage - my husband is a New Zealander and we live in the wine country of Southern Oregon. To our great delight we found several new varietals that made our picky tastebuds very happy. Thank you Terry.

Great wines and beautiful location. I little further to get to but worth the trip. Loved the chocolate and nut snacks to try with the wines.

Our visit to Knight Hill winery could not have been a more perfect introduction to Yakima Valley wines. The winery is perched on the highest hill in the area with beautiful views of vineyards and orchards, surrounded by rolling hills. Mount Rainier and Mount Adams were also in sight.

Winemakers Terry and Anne Harrison welcomed us and introduced us to their delicious wines, especially the Mourvedre, Syrah and Cabernet. The whites were good, too, though I personally tend toward red wine.

We also had a tour of the fermentation room and learned how much TLC they put into every batch of wine. I

Terry is the owner, and Amazing host. Of the vineyards we visited he had the best range of red and white wines - which is tough as white wines are hard to come by. His whites go from a mild sweet to a very light and somewhat dry taste. In addition Terry also rents out his basement apartment which is literally right on premise for about 100 a night. Which- is also amazing because the views from this apartment and vineyard are literally breathtaking!!! Best part his prices on wine range from affordable 20 to the not to exclusive 40 dollar area. Terry and Knight Hill should be a must stop of you are

Beautiful views!! Tasted eight wines and were impressed with a few of them, particularly the dry riesling (actually dry, comples and a bit herbacious), the red blend, and mourvedre (new bouquet entirely to me).

I would recommend this winery over anything in Yakima Valley, which felt like a bit of a tourist trap to me.

Great place! Primo Sauvignon Blanc, and I especially loved the Sirah. Terry and Ann Harrison and Dixie the German Shepherd will welcome you to this beautiful estate setting and even the most discerning wine lovers will leave knowing they have found something very special. The Mourvedre that has everyone talking is sold out, to my dismay - but it will be back in August. Knight Hill is a winner!

Wonderful first stop on our wine weekend tour of the Yakima Valley / Red Mountain area. We continually questioned if we were going in the right direction as signage was limited, but we made it in the end after getting on to a gravel road. The tasting room was in a little barn and had a lovely view. Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy and windy but we'll have to return for a sunny day. For most of the time we were the only people in the tasting room, which is always nice especially when you don't know much about the area. Terry was a pleasure to chat with and was very helpful.

We ended our day of tasting at Knight Hill. The drive there is a real treat because of the lush orchards and beautiful cherry blossoms! What a beautiful place to relax and taste great wine. We bought the Rooks Red as well as the Chardonnay, which were both lovely. A neighbor helping out the winemakers took us back and gave us tastings straight from the barrel, which was a really special experience. The winemakers themselves gave me great advice about my own wine making endeavors as well! After almost a full day of tasting around the area, the ice water with lemons they provided us with was exactly

Knight Hill Vineyard is perched on top of a hill and has a beautiful view of the surrounding Rattlesnake Hills and the Yakima Valley below. It is worth the meandering drive through the apple orchards and vineyards to get there.

Now that you know about how pretty it is up there, if the weather is nice and you are smart, you will pack yourself a picnic and have a leisurely lunch outside on the grass or on the picnic table. It is situated so that you have a view of the lovely valley below.

We tried all the wines. We did not care for any of the whites and poured each one out. We were not sure

The wines are very delicious- especially the Mouvedre. They have an assortment of reds and whites (all dry) so there's a little something for everyone. I would definitely recommend hitting up this winery- you have to drive a bit off the typical wine route, but it's worth it!

I loved Knight Hill! I was surprised by how delicious their wine is, considering how new they are. And the people that own it are just wonderful. The land is gorgeous. And come on - I was greeted by Dixie the German Shepard who waited for her luvins and then guided us to the front door. Who wouldn't love that? Once inside she left us to our wine sipping and retired to a warm patch of sun on the floor. Left here with two bottles - will definitely be back the next time we're out that way.

I was determined to try out Knight Hill in Zillah as I had never been there before. It was off the beaten path, up in the hills, along a gravel road. We finally got to the end of the gravel road, what seemed like the top of the hill. What a view!! Dixie, the German Shepard wine dog was right there to greet us happily. And they have wine cats, twin sister calicos. Ok, back to the wine! They had their first crush in 2008 so they're fairly new. The tasting room is still undergoing renovations, but I loved it as we saw it...have I mentioned the 360 degree view? I tried the chardonnay

Up and coming new winery. We tasted 3 wines today: a red blend, a dry riesling (and I mean dry.... I'm normally not a riesling fan), and a chardonnay. He also barrel tasted his syrah and mourvedre....they will be tasty!

They are down to earth and unpretentious. Recommend for a new, cool winery.
