Came here on short notice because it was somewhere that had vacancy for a decent price. The outside looks somewhat run down with the smell of weed lingering in the air. Room looked nice at first but that quickly fell apart as it was realized that only a few of the appliances in the room worked and towels had mysterious stains on them. I wouldn't come here again unless I was really in a pinch and needed somewhere to stay the night.

Despite some of the reviews, my partner and I decided to stay 3 nights here, and it was just right for us. We spent a lot of our time walking the boardwalk in OCNJ or hanging out in Atlantic City (which was a very short drive from the Royal Lodge), and were so happy to have a huge jacuzzi tub to relax in after a day of walking around. We had the corner King jacuzzi suite, and it was plenty big for the both of us.
Room was clean and we felt safe, so it passed the test for me. It is an older place, so if you are looking for top of the line amenities with modern flair, this may not be for you.

Wish I could rate it a negative star.
This place is the DIRTIEST place I've EVER experienced!!! We had a family suite rm (205). It has 3 beds in a regular room so they can the max dollar (and it's so NOT worth it).NOT a place for families at all!More like a Rat whole. ALSO a random mattress standing in the corner for no reason,filled with stains. Staff are very RUDE when dealing with Any issues. My room floors were dirty.. so no shower w/o shoes.
They don't speak much English so good luck communicating with them!

Poor info online, deceptive pricing, room I was in had a shower that was either scalding hot or cold, no in between. No working safety locks on windows, broken safety chain on door, room phone non functional. King size bed with nightstand on one side only. Receipts are not itemized, only the total shows. Owner tries to justify his prices by showing you a hand written ledger with prices OTHER PEOPLE have paid. Shady operation with a greedy owner. DON'T GO THERE!

DO NOT....I repeat DO NOT stay at this hotel. It is far from quality. The condition of the building and the appliances in the room are very poor and looks like it will break down at any moment. We had to ask for a room change because our room was dirty. There was hair on the sheets, and they looked dingy. On top of that, we found doritos right on top of the bed before laying down. The doors are hard to open, and the pillows are extremely flat. We even think that we got bed bugs from this place.
