Martin Santamaria was born in Mendoza, Argentina, the eldest of five children. He developed an early interest in rugby, playing for the Maristas Rugby Club from 1981-98. He was honored to play competitive rugby for the Mendoza Province Selection, Cuyo Region, from 1991-94. After graduation from the College of San Jose Maristas Brotherhood in 1990, Martin attended the University Nacional of Cuyo.
My friends and I just returned from a bachelorette party weekend in Fredericksburg. We used Texas Wine Tours to plan three wine tours and began the day at Santa Maria Cellars where we were greeted by Martin Santamaria and his lovely wife. This was by far, my favorite stop as well as my favorite wine from the weekend - I canceled my wine subscription today and will be ordering from these guys in the future.

I was incredibly wowed by this place. Martin's depth of knowledge of wine is unparalleled compared to other wineries in the Fredericksburg area. His wines are exquisitely delicious and showcase his dedication to making Argentinian style wines in the hill country. I liked the wine so much I had to come back two days in a row to experience them again.
The patio is quiet and serene with views of the rolling hills, perfect for enjoying an intimate brunch with friends or family. While the bathroom and other facilities are not as nice as other wineries in the area, the wine more than makes up for any

My wife and I went in for a tasting for my birthday. Planning to buy quite a bit of wine since my birthday gift was a wine fridge. While we were choosing our wines, a group on a wine tour came in and we were asked if we wanted to sit at the table to do our tasting there. Then after choosing our wines, no one checked in on us. I got up to give our tasting sheet and was ignored as they were preparing for the wine tour group instead (even though we were there for our tasting before the group walked in). I told my wife we should just leave. I don’t want to give my money to a winery that puts a couple

Has been one of our favorite wineries until today. We have always enjoyed our tastings with the female owner and have recommended the winery to probably 30 people in the last year . Today we got an entirely different experience with the husband. He was extremely rude when we asked to do a tasting (we are wine club members) with our guest. Bottom line he never poured us wine, our guest never got to sample and we are no longer members. There are too many wineries in Fredricksburg to be treated rudely. Such a disappointment.
