The History of the Ruby House is one that has been handed down from generation to generation. As the story has been repeated, it has gained a few "characters" and has become a bit of urban legend. Although we have grown to love these stories and the "characters" that have been created, we have to say that the REAL history of the Ruby House is interesting enough to stand on its own.
In 1970 Mr. Leo Toskin purchased the Sagdalen family home on Winter Street in addition to the Standard gas station that was next door. Leo got right to work and converted the house and gas station into a restaurant and saloon and named it "The Ruby House". The Ruby House was unsalvageable and had to be torn down.

I don't know if it only happens during the off-season, but when we visited I noticed they were understaffed. Our server took a little longer to take our order and the same when we asked for our bill. To be fair, she was helpful and very nice.
The food was great! The price and the servings were fair. The ambiance was very nice too.

If you like old time Saloon / Restaurant places, this is a must. Located in Keystone downtown, there are lots of things to see to work up an appetite and thirst, before entering. All walls are decorated with history of this charming area and establishment.
Menu and beer selection was excellent with all the normal items and some exotic. The Elk burger 🍔 was very good.

One of the finest dinners to be had in the Keystone area, IMHO. To begin, we had the spinach-artichoke dip and it was delicious. For a drink I ordered the top-shelf Bloody Mary, while my wife ordered a Strawberry Mohito--Wow, both were excellent!! For dinner my wife and I both ordered the Bourbon Ribeye with baked potato, her steak was ordered medium and mine medium rare. Our granddaughter had the regular Ribeye, medium rare. All steaks were cooked to perfection and very tasty. We all had a salad and then a bowl of their ham and bean soup was shared between all of us.

Good food. Cool atmosphere. We went late on a Fri night so they were out of prime rib but thats because we were there an hr before closing. The filet was very tender. Just a little bland but I ate almost the entire thing so it was still pretty good. My husband liked their ribeye, but he also said it could have used a little more seasoning. Broccoli was good and their side salad was just lettuce and small croutons but very fresh and the dressing was good.
