Enjoyed a burger and chicken fried steak from an abbreviated menu than what was found online. Food was delicious!Gentleman bartending also was our server and covered both positions well. This was right next to our hotel, so very convenient. Surprisingly many businesses are closed even on weekends since it's off-season. We got lucky and arrived before they got busy and ran out of tables.

I love a little local bar with all of its unique characteristics. This place had one dollar bills all over the walls, posts from people commemorating their visit. Was cool. Our wait staff were friendly and service was great. We had wings, steaks, Mac and cheese, Cole slaw all were far more than what I expected. We are here a few days before everything closes for the season and a lot of our interactions with the locals have been "blah" but not here. Very friendly, smiling happy people. Parking is plentiful.

The wait staff and bar tender were the nicest folks we met on our vacation. The food was above average bar food. My fish and chips were huge and actually real cod even though many restaurants lie about that these days. I would definitely recommend this place as a nice casual lunch or dinner restaurant.

So we got there and were told it's a thirty minute wait. That's fine. We sat on the patio and waited. Ten minutes in the hostess we talked to starts yelling as us that we need to check in we can't just sit down. Told her she has our name. Finally got a table and we were told we can't order food for twenty minutes because the cook took a break. We ordered drinks. They took twenty minutes to get to us. We finally got our food after an hour and twenty minutes of walking to the door. My fries were cold. Girlfriends plate wasn't with ours. Friends only had half his food. Rest

Despite the negative reviews my family decided to give them a shot anyway. The service was actually pretty great! The manager/hostess was going to seat us outside but quickly made accommodations for us to sit inside at our request even though the bigger tables were full. Our server was polite & personable but unfortunately we didn’t catch his name. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated or for our food for a Saturday evening. The food was hot, delicious & reasonably priced so I don’t see why other reviews said prices were outrageous-for four of us it was only $46 with drinks. We didn’t

Our waitress Paris was wonderful. The restaurant was somewhat lack luster. The manager/whatever was more interest in smoking with people that came in then making sure that the place was running smooth. The food was nothing to write home about. I know help is hard to get and also food supplies are short after the Sturgis Rally, but that does not mean you can't do everything you can control to the best of your ability.

We stopped by to have a drink at the bar after Mt Rushmore lighting. We were in town for the Rally and love hole in the wall places. The two lady owners and their son were behind the counter. Started a Pleasant conversation with them. They are worn thin because they can't find anybody to work. It seemed to me they were trying their best to accommodate everyone. Karaoke was a little loud but still fun. Did not try their food since it was so late but next time we're at the rally we will definitely be back a little bit earlier.

We decided to stop here on our way to Mount Rushmore. We were not impressed! The sign said to wait to be seated. We waited by the door for a few minutes feet from 2-3 staff members, and had to ask them if we could be seated. The woman, assuming it was the manger, was very rude. We got our menus right away and our drinks. The waiter was not very polite when taking our order. The menu had a very limited options and the prices are a little high. We waited a hour to get our food. (The restaurant was not packed). I got a salad with salmon. The salmon was dry and you could tell it had been microwaved

I came to wanting to eat at barleys but unfortunately the bartender/staff (older white woman) was very passive aggressive and unprofessional. As a tourist I would advise fellow tourist not to come here because staff is very unwelcoming. I would like to think it wasn't because we were of color but I cannot surely say it wasn't.

Great food, great portions for the price, great service. Good beer selection, new beers on tap each day and a full bar.
They allow dogs in the outside seating area.
Our server and the young lady who helped her were both polite, courteous, efficient, and helpful.
The person behind the bar (she may have been the owner, not sure), not so polite! She's kind of unfriendly and short/curt.
I would still recommend this place. Just steer clear of the female bartender.
Oh and there were quite a few flies ourside around the food, but not anything a pest strip couldn't fix. It didn't

It took almost 1 hour to get our appetizer. It actually came right before the food which was very disappointing. We had great difficulty getting horseradish for my husband’s prime rib, He was almost finished with it before they found horseradish for him. They did not bring his salad dressing until the end of the meal. The baked potatoes were still hard, and the food was just warm. Then they had the nerve to charge us for the water and the little bit of extra barbecue sauce I asked for. When my husband spoke to the owner, she was completely unapologetic and not at all helpful. We overheard another

Hopefully they get more staff, but as of July 22 they were running a little short and had to turn away a few customers. Our waitress, Paris?, was fantastic and worked so hard. She also chatted with us even though she was so busy. Hubby loved the smoked chicken and I enjoyed my Philly steak sandwich. I also liked that the waitress had a printed listing of the beers on draft. I thought was pretty handy.

Food was really good I recommend the steak, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, cheese burger and prime rib. Food was warm fresh and very flavorful. Downside was the owner/managers sat outside complaining, swearing and getting emotional over a personal matter. We had a 6yo at our table a table of kids behind us yet they continued to use foul language while smoking and drinking. Really dissapointing wish they'd take there personal matters else where as its bad for business and really made our visit a negative.

Made a trip from Cheyenne for my first visit to Mt. Rushmore.
My honey and I decided to eat dinner here and I've got to say, I've had a LOT of prime rib across this country, but this place has THE BEST DAMNED smoked prime rib that I've EVER had in my life!!
It had the absolute BEST flavor to it, the baked mac & cheese was to die for. Great atmosphere, great food, great location, great service (Miguel was the bomb)!!
We'll definitely be eating here again next time up here!! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars, bcuz it deserves 20!!

Its the off season in the mt Rushmore area but these guys still cranking out some amazing food. Had the Reubens with fries... it was on point and super large. Daughter had the kids mac and cheese and said it was super cheesey and awesome. The service was a bit slow to order but food was fast, fresh and hot. Good for a snack or a cold beer. Recommend it!

We stopped in after looking at the menu. Looked like a great variety for everyone. We were greeted with a "wait to be seated" sign outside. We stood there, giving the person ahead of us the 6'+ for COVID. A server approached us and told us to go inside to view the menu. There was another patron viewing the menu & snapped a pic with her phone & sat down at a table. We assumed that was protocol.
We got to an empty table, and was approached by whom we now know is the owner and was rudely told that the table had not been cleaned off yet. I replied in a nice tone "thanks

GET. THE. PRIME. RIB
My husband and I went for dinner on Saturday night. We walked by the day before and smelled their smoker going and made it a point to eat there. The menu is limited and changes every day. You can tell they are understaffed due to the pandemic. The employees were non stop the whole time we were there. Our waiter was an absolute sweetheart (I didn't catch his name, has an Afro). You have to sit outside and let's be honest the place is not gorgeous. But don't let the decor or low staffing come between you and that prime rib!

I was hesitant to try Barlee's after reading a few reviews but I wanted to try it for myself. I went mid afternoon and there were a few groups eating on the outdoor patio. I ordered the Reuben and fries and it was very good. It was a little slow to arrive (25 minutes) considering the time of day and that I only ordered a sandwich but I want in a hurry and i really enjoyed the food when it arrived. The bartender/waiter was polite and attentive.
