Services
The Accounts Program was created so that people can use recycling as a convenient way of raising money. When recyclables are sold at the Buyback, normally a check is issued at the time of sale. However, if you have an account, you don't take a check at the time of sale and your sales will build up over the course of a month.
Don't see your materials below? Need more detail? Please refer to our Recycling Guide (home page) to learn more and to locate other recyling agencies. Empty bottles and jars with no liquids; all glass must be sorted by color; please remove all caps!

Empty narrow-neck bottles only; "narrow-neck" means the neck of the bottle is smaller than the base of the bottle; includes soda bottles, water bottles, milk and juice jugs, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles.Must be empty and sorted by #1 through #7. Please remove all caps! Aluminum scrap includes, signs, aluminum windows, aluminum shavings, rims, scraps, car and bicycle parts.
CCC operates programs that buy recyclables and provides for convenient drop-off of recyclables. The City-owned facility is also home to the Ecology Center, which operates the residential curbside pick-up program. The City of Berkeley operates the commercial pick-up program which collects recyclables from commercial establishments throughout the city.
ACCRC will recycle your computer, VCR, television, copy machine, and even your microwave and toaster. California encourages group recycling and offers ideas that you can implement through CCC's Accounts Program. Their mascot is Recycling Rex and his message is: "Recycle, reduce, reuse and close the loop."

There was a line of cars to get in. It moved rather quickly. The guy working the gate was extremely helpful. He directed patrons quickly and efficiently. We got in and out in just a few minutes.

Berkeley Recycling Center has been a lifesaver for my wife and I,we believe in recycling but due to the pandemic we found that the recycling place we go to on High street and the one on 105th Ave weren't accepting recycle due to covid. I'll be glad when they reopen because they're closer but until further notice I'll be going to Berkeley. Oh yeah, the prices are better than the smaller recycle places.

Pro tip - if you're just doing house hold recycling, it's before the waste drop off. Don't get fooled by ling lines that wrap around the block - pull up and pull through the line for waste (usually can tell it's trucks with big tarps covering large loads) into the recycling part.

The man there was not patient and unfriendly. The lady that spelled him was much nicer. They need signs explaining the different plastics. I am here from out of town, so I was unsure what he was talking about. A little patience and a smile would have gone a long ways!

I crushed all my cans and weigh it before going to sell them. I first went to National recycling at 14th street, their weigh was accurate 100 lbs for 4 bags. When I went to Berkeley recycle, I even brought one extra white cabbage back with me just incase. After weighing all my four 30 lbs bag and one cabbage bag all crushed down all I received $124.60 (76lbs) instead of 100 lbs ($165)or even more. First the boy with the brown guy at the weigh station did not wait to reset the machine and was busy pouring out cans while the black guy was

Every time I have gone to this facility I have been treated with the highest care and respect. The employees make me feel like they are happy to have me visit. I am politely addressed and attended to. The process for successfully completing my task is easy to follow and their price per pound seems to be fair and honest. Thank you Berkeley Recycling Center for a job well done.

Busy but fair it seemed certain regular customers have their own agenda for being served and the rest of us had to wait or they would help the workers to speed you up, need patience when coming here, customers who are regular have seem to have priviledges..(Bezerkley).
