We ordered from Tengs for the first time last night and the food was excellent! Really flavorful, large portions and everyone loved it. The Haka Chili dishes (wings, beef) were really amazing. We ordered online for pick up and the order did take well over an hour. Tengs was very apologetic and kind about the long wait time but just a heads up if you order on Saturday night - they get busy. Can't wait to try it again!

I found Teng's from a NYC halal food facebook group I'm in. It seemed very popular, so I brought my in-laws for dinner. It's mostly aimed at takeout, and it was very busy when we came on New Years day. Despite that, our food came out pretty fast and what I really loved was that the family that runs the business seem like genuinely good people. The food was excellent, we got crispy beef, Hakka chilli chicken, udon noodles, fried rice, momo dumplings, and everything was really tasty. I think the hakka chicken was my personal favorite. We're very happy to have a high quality halal Chinese food option

Very satisfied that there is finally an authentic Halal Chinese Restaurant on Long Island. Not only is it Chinese, they have items on the menu that your usual Chinese place doesn't have.
We had the Hakka Chilli Chicken which was very different on our palate. Took a minute to get the taste right away, but once it hit it was very pleasant.
Beef and Broccoli was well portioned and we went home fully satisfied knowing that we don't have to travel all the way to Queens to have Halal Chinese.

This is such a cute family business that recently became halal. I love hoe fresh and home cooked everything is. Very rare to find authentic Chinese food thats halal on LI. For appa we got the Vegetable Corn Soup and added egg to it, it was so warm and comforting, perfect for this weather. We also got the Pan Fried Chicken Mo Mo, I didn't try them but my family loved them. The Vegetable Egg Roll could've been better, was a but bland.
In terms of mains, the fried rice was so good, you could tell it was made fresh, and not overly salty or greasy like other places. My brother and sister

Ordered take out, they were super busy but got my order in under the approximated 30 minutes. Food was very good, I'm definitely coming back. The older gentleman behind the counter was unfriendly to my 1.5 year old son. So I don't think I'll be dining in until my kids are older. Everyone else was nice.

Hands down, I think the best halal hakka / Chinese restaurant on Long Island, NY. Since this was my first time ordering from here, I wanted to try everything! So I definitely went overboard with my order, however, WORTH IT!
I ordered chicken sweet corn soup, steamed chicken dumplings, Sichuan chicken dumplings, hakka chicken wings, chicken fried rice, chicken hakka noodles, Chilli beef, and orange chicken.
I honestly can't remember the last time I was so satisfied with a meal. Every single item was incredible, fresh, and tasted amazing. We all wanted a legit halal Chinese place on Long Island

OMG! The best halal chinese i have had in a long time. Everything was so delicious and fresh and came out within 15 minutes. So happy for the Teng family to be part of our long island community. I no longer have to go to brooklyn for halal chinese.
Fried wings were delicious, suggest to change order size to 6 like the other ones.
Manchurian wings not so favorite of mine but my husband enjoyed. I prefer more on the spicy side but it was giving it a sweet kick thats why but taste was great.

This place is amazing. I am convinced this is the best Hakka cuisine ever. The Manchurian chicken is perfect. It is saucy and breaded perfectly. The house fried rice has a great buttery taste to it. It's just overall 10/10. I have been back several times in the past month. The owners are extremely kind and sweet, you can tell they put their hearts into each order. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I also love the fact that the menu is affordable and halal.

I drove 3.5 hours from New Jersey to try Hakka Chinese food at Tengs Garden in Long Island. I really enjoyed the food here and it was authentic Hakka cooking to my great delight. I ordered Chilli chicken and Thai spice crispy fish which was delicious and other item ; every item was good as well. I recommend them to everyone, you won't be disappointed.

Went there on a review from a friend. Ordered the chicken Manchurian fried rice, Hakka chili Beef, And The Hakka low Mein with shrimp. I thought the food was well made, not oily at all. I am not sure if it was packing with Flavor and they could've made it for an american palette. I will visit again to try their lunch menu. I'm only giving it four stars because I felt it was a tad bit expensive to charge $4 for four pieces of shrimp. My total for these three dishes came out to $46 with tax. The vinegar infused chili (made in house) is good for those people that want an extra punch

The best food ever!!!!! Authentic!!
My second time here and just as good as the first time. Don't expect anything fancy. Food is serve in the plastic container to go along with paper plates and plastic utensils..... so what, when the food is amazing. I had the Hakka Chili Shrimp the first time and today I requested they make me eggplant and shrimp in the Hakka sauce. They were more than happy to make it for me. The Hakka sauce is spicy, flavorful, so good. I believe it's their own speciality...Oh try their fried rice... delicious. Portion of food is generous.
I'm so happy that

Ate here for the first time. I was very impressed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. While it has table space, currently they are only doing take out. Had four dishes, Chicken w/Bean Sprouts, Shrimp w/Garlic Sauce, beef Udon Noodle and Dumplings which they called (Mo Mo). All accompanied with white rice.
The food was very tasty and all dishes had excellent amount of sauce to make it tasty.
The spice level was just right, but they give you extra sauces if you want to ramp it up more to your taste.
This is an Taiwan/Indian Chinese food and it by far surpasses the regular Chinese foods

Teng's is a little hole in the wall off of Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. It's got tons of parking, a rarity among places along Hempstead Turnpike.
The owner, Mike, is an angel. He and my dad started talking about their mutual friend, whose recommendation brought us into Teng's in the first place. Amongst the first of many pleasant surprises of the evening: Mike and my dad reminisced about working in India... conversing in Hindi!!!! My Indian dad and Mike, Chinese, worked in the same town in India in the late 80s. What a small world.
On the Chinese food menu was chicken pakora

I was excited to hear of a new Chinese restaurant with unique food opening nearby, so I ordered several dishes for delivery tonight. I researched Hakka cuisine and learned it's supposed to be umami, fragrant and spicy. Sadly the food I received had none of these qualities.
As other Yelpers have noted, portions are small and prices high relative to other Chinese establishments in the area. That would be fine if the food was really great, but (at least in my case) it wasn't. Mango shrimp, a pricey chef special, is described as spicy on the menu but mine was overly sweet and mushy with
