Went there tonight at 6:26 they said since we were a walk in there would be a little wait but we should have a table by 7. Waited outside in the cold for an hour and 15 minutes no call. Finally left because we were starving. Now almost three hours later we still would have been waiting because there has been no call. We would have totally understood if they would have told us they don't accept walk ins and we we would have made a reservation next time but to tell us we could get in and waste our time for nothing is inexcusable. Would never eat here. People should treat people how they would

Great atmosphere and food. Eventhough the service is slow it's understandable -it seems like they're short staff. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. You can have amazing food for a decent price and not be overloaded with sodium. I got the chicken fajita and it was a good portion size. The beef quesadilla looks more like a giant sof taco but nonetheless it's still delicious

We used to come here often then had a couple of bad experiences. It's been several years. We decided to give it another try. I'm so happy that we did. Everything was perfect. The food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food. The waitress was amazing. I wish I could recall her name. She was amazing. Very attentive. We never had to ask for anything. She was on top of it. I'm looking forward to coming back.

We have been become regulars at South of the Border. The wait staff is very nice, courteous and professional. We always sit outside and the large heaters are perfect for outdoor dining during the pandemic.
The food is great and portions are plentiful. We highly recommend this restaurant that we used to only pass by, when going to Target. We now frequent every week.

We went there last night. When we made reservations we were not asked if we wanted indoor seating or outdoor seating, but the hostess made that decision for us and it was uncomfortably cool outside. We then decided to take the meal home. The food was mediocre at best. I had the paella and it was disappointing for the price. My wife had fajitas which was just okay. I will not be going there again.

We had been looking at this place and always saw people sitting outside seeming to enjoy their meal. We finally decided to give it a go on a night that we needed a stiff drink. It was too muggy to sit outside so we went indoors which is beautifully decorated. A bit on the small side but still plenty of space between us and the next table.
For my drink I had a mojito. It was refreshing for a warm summer evening and VERY strong. For food I had the enchiladas de mole. Delicious and hefty portion! Enchiladas were great and the rice and beans were yummy. Staff was very friendly and constantly made

I've ordered take out twice. Both times the food was hot, delicious, plentiful and beautifully prepared. The paella was so, so very delicious! The size of it was unbelievable. Last nite was the first time during the pandemic that wentmenentured out into a restaurant with friends. They had never been here before, and they were both very impressed with the cleanliness, distancing, friendly staff, and social distancing. The food spoke for itself. 3 of them ordered various items from the meu and were very happy with their selections. ...I went with my favorite "paella". The $35 price

This place is okay. The price is not really worth the food but the portions were decent.
The chicken was well cooked and seasoned but the rest of the plate was flavorless. The tables didn't have salt or pepper (and I suspect the kitchen may be lacking them too).
The meal was 45 for two people (with waters) and was not really worth it.
If you're going, get the chicken...it was great, but that's about it.

We went there for the first Time and found live roach in our food. See photos. Place is very dark and it's hard to see lot of things. We saw the roach on the plate after we got the food. We just could not eat anything after that. I felt like throwing up. They did not charge for one plate.

We love this place! It's our Friday margarita-night spot. The drinks are amazing and the food is great. It's comfy, cozy and the portions are generous.

I really think this place deserves a 2.5, but here is my problem.
While it is a fantastic Mexican atmosphere, I was here late last night. The faux candles on the table did not work, and it was so dark, I could not read the menu or even see my food. We literally had to use our cell phone flashlights to light up the food, just to see what we were eating.
So, I had a classic margarita, which was really good. Nice start to the meal. At first glance of the menu, it struck me that it is a little pricey for Mexican food, but if the food it good, I am all about it. Not the case.

I've passed by this restaurant a few times and I've always loved the way it looked and finally stopped by. As soon as I walked in, it was as nice on the inside as it was on the outside. They do a great job with the authentic look. Their food was absolutely amazing. I went with the avocado carne which was a steak with cheese and avocado served with refried beans and rice. My father got queso camaronês which he absolutely loved. Service was great and I honestly don't see a reason why this place can deserve anything other than 5 stars. I will definitely be coming back!
