Stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed! The crab artichoke dip was amazing (love the pita chips!) The Brunswick stew was some of the best I've ever had... lots of veggies and tons of shredded meat. A little sweet and a little tangy. The brisket platter was four huge slices of brisket and two generous sides (fries were crispy and delicious; the baked beans were tangy and thick.) Even the sweet tea was good.

Found out about this small restaurant from friends. Have only been there 3 times total so far (I will become a regular there) but have thoroughly enjoyed all 3 meals. Have gotten basically the same thing each time, beef brisket, pulled pork barbecue, and the 1st time I went, I got ribs (the Sampler - brisket, barbecue, and ribs). Each time I got their slaw and potato salad as my sides, along with sweet tea to drink.
The meals have been consistently good all 3 times. I had only had beef brisket one time previously in my life when I was in Nashville, but this is as good as what I had in Nashville

Recently went because of the reviews and pictures of the wings. I orders 12 wings, and 2 burgers. The wings were not good.. they were a little hard and the seasoning wasn't great either! My husband and son said the burgers were pretty good. I would give it another try... just wouldn't order the wings again!

Yeah first time and last time. First the hostess look at me like I was crazy when I walked in and I had to ask if I seat myself. Secondly, I had the sampler platter and the food was dry except the collard greens and hush puppies were good. Lastly they never came to refill our sweet tea but the cocktails were awesome. Finally I’d rather have had Mission BBQ or some other local BBQ spot and there are plenty around that are way better. Not taking another trip for this place.

I'm only giving two starts because the staff has been nice all three times we went here. I first tried Masons 6 years ago and the food was terrible. Overcooked, dry and the vegetable sides tasted like they just add things to canned vegetables. We didn't go back for a few years. While the wife was pregnant she wanted chicken tenders and I decided to try again. Same results. She likes the tenders but they are just breaded fried chicken. So I stated that I wasn't going back. Not long a ago friend told me that he had been and it was really good. I hoped the something had changed but

Was driving through town and stopped by Mason's . The bartender/Server Veronica and Mail were extremely helpful with helping me deciding what I should have for lunch . The bbq platter is a must ! Love how they have multiple BBQ sauces . I asked who the chef was in the back and they told me that Greg was cooking my meal and hands down the best bbq ! Thanks again!

Always giving an excuse to new customers! Third time trying to go, this time wouldn't leave, waited for an hour for the kitchen to open back up! Only wants repeat customers! Hostess tried to clear our table before we even got our meal! Fis was great! Drinks were wonderful! Once you're in, great place to dine! The owner definitely puts his workers family as a priority... Love that!!!!!

Heading from Petersburg, we stopped @ Mason and OMG!! How about er'thang we ate was good!!! The chicken salad is delicious, the broccoli salad - delicious, the crab & artichoke dip - delicious, the string beans & collards..OMG...seasoned to perfection. Even the hush puppies and Mac & cheese were good... LOL!! LISA, LISA, LISA!!! WOW!! Thanks for a great lunch. See ya again soon.

I am a big time wing guy, prefer smoked; I recently moved to Suffolk from VA Beach away from my usual spot where they made my food after the order was placed while Mason's wings tasted like they've been on stand by half of the day. We once dined in and ever was great. Just wish delivery was as good.

Wonderful cocktails and Tuna app tonight. Best tuna app ever and not too salty. Cocktails perfect. Brought home Hamburger and Reuben. Also tried beans, slaw, collards, mac and cheese and pulled pork for future catering. Everything was great. Erica was a perfect waitress. She was patient and answered so many questions for us. She had a great attitude which is worth a million bucks to us. Cannot wait to go back. Looks like they are expanding. Very covid conscious.

My husband & I recently moved to the area, & we had to try Masons. Our Suffolk native friends love it!
We went during COVID, & they were very accommodating with their outdoor seating. We ordered the crab tots for an appetizer, & they were delicious!! There is was so much on the menu that I wanted to try - we will just have to go back to try everything. I also really enjoyed their seasonal inspired drinks.

Seriously not impressed here
Been there 3 times. 1 was good. 2 were terrible.
What surprised me the most was the lack of bussing. every table has a huge stack of the disposable plates&flatware stacked on the tables as the guests chat and wait...for their check.
Then the owner strolls thru the dining room(tent) and smoozes.
Says nothing and does nothing about the stacks of crap.
and the best...kitchen forgets to put cheese on the nachos.

My high school football team was playing in the area and we figured we stop in to grab some drinks and a bite to eat. We didn't want anything heavy, but I at least wanted to check out the menu.
The menu is pretty straight forward. I ordered my drink and opted to try the crabcake over top my salad.
Not sure what I was expecting for under $10... but the crabcake was just OK. All in all, I like this place. I love the hometown vibe. It appears to be a local hangout spot
