Our tavern is located in an old building in Carlton's downtown district. The bar is named for the Carlton & Coast Railroad; a mighty force which traversed the mountains between Carlton and Tillamook in the early 1900's. I usually promote local establishments and send people there. Unfortunately today is different. Due to lack of human decency displayed by the current takeover of Carlton & Coast Tavern I urge all of my friends to find another venue to drink and be merry. Treating employees how you feel about yourself is unacceptable as is threatening their futures. I would expect more out of a female owner with all female staff. I truly hope this person understands how wrong this is and does better for her future.

Great potential but falls short!
We have gone here now 3 times as we wanted to give it an honest try and review!
Each time we went it was pretty much the same. I loved the beer selection, but not much else. The food wasn't great, and the music at times was so loud I had to shout to talk across the table.
Nachos were so salty I couldn't finish them. The fish tacos were just OK and fish smelled a little off. The pulled pork lacked that crunch from the slaw and felt mushy.
Pros: Waitress at counter was nice, beer selection was good, and overall vibe was ok.
Cons: Food was just ok, ambiance was

Interesting place with a good selection of taps and a great vibe but really miserable service. The detritus of the previous guest at my table stayed there throughout my visit and I could quite easily have been the invisible man. Food took maybe 45 mins to show up. One staff member working and the other partying. It seems staff and service are the weak point here and it certainly shows. Really a very substandard experience.

The Carlton and Coast Tavern is an awesome place with a great selection of liquor, and every craft beer a hipster could dream of. Carlton and Coast also has a pool table, and slot machines. Their staff is talented, friendly, and professional. The owners only want the best for any town that they have businesses in (pay Elena's Wine Bar a visit as well). Be sure to check out Carlton and Coast Tavern, you will not regret it.

We grabbed dinner here on our way through Carlton. Pretty standard bar food. We ordered at the bar- they have a pretty good variety of beer. The servers were very friendly. We got the cheeseburger and the grilled cheese with tots. The tots were great, the cheeseburger was good, and the grilled cheese was OK. I would order something else next time. I'd stop by again if in town.

OMG! Such a great find. Try ANYthing on the menu! Such innovation, amazingly fresh, so delish - man that cheese bread with truffle oil was just to die for....had to fight my son for my half of the plate! Our sandwiches were simply superb. I had the turkey, bacon, arugula, swiss cheese with aioli. The bread was grilled with herbs. I mean to tell you...perfect proportion....not a monstrous sandwich you cannot get in your mouth for a bite! Room layout was great - everyone was just lovely. I cannot wait to go back again. Simply outstanding and the aroma out the door pulled us IN the door

We stopped by on a Monday on our way back from a long weekend at the coast. Before our group left, we were already figuring out what future outings could be decided to incorporate a stop by Carlton again so that we could revisit. Excellent and creative taplist with something for everyone. The food is fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. You must get the epically, almost comically large pretzel to share. All artistic touches (including the intricate tile work) was done by the family. Even if this wasn't a beer drinkers' oasis in the middle of wine country, it's definitely worth a visit.

Stopped in for lunch and found a gem of a restaurant/bar in a really cool town. I got the classic cheeseburger with tots and for something so simple, it was very good. The atmosphere was nicely done with a little modern industrial going on. The staff was very helpful and the service couldn't really have been better. If you're in Carlton, or passing by, stop in for lunch and you they won't disappoint!

Stopped by rather accidentally and so happy we did! We had the pretzels, wings, and fries. The pretzels were deep fried which freaked us out at first, but was actually pretty tasty (even though neither had a grain of salt on them). We would totally stop by again, great atmosphere and great food! Owner even stopped by to ask how everything was. !

Yes I was surprised.. the little town of Carlton is growing up! sadly non-locals are moving in, but they do make it fun! more selection and better run bars and eateries.
We stopped on whim coming back from the coast, and found some great food! really nice staff.
they fired up the Karaoke which proved to be very entertaining. Cleary some local women come in just for this, and the DJ knew them by name and called them up. They rally had some talent!

This place is by far the most fun tap house in Carlton. Free pool .. digital pour beer board. Friendly owner who is knowledgeable about beers and keeps a great variety of beer ,cider and other beverages. We had the pulled pork nachos.. it came out on a humongous tray.. piled high with tasty.. hot cheesy nachos! We have had the street tacos and the ribs.. all very tasty and huge portions!
Between the beer ,food ,friendly staff and patrons.. this I my new favorite local place!!
