LA, like any major metropolitan city, has a little bit of everything. Now there are french bakeries and there are FRENCH 🇫🇷 bakeries. La Tropézienne is the real deal. Highly recommend the almond raspberry croissant

Bought a Mont Blanc pastry for my friend's birthday. We found out later it was too dry, as if it was sitting out all day in the display case. This was disappointing because La Tropézienne Bakery on La Brea Ave has always served great desserts in the past.

This place has the best Lemon meringue tart in the world!!! Other baked goods taste great as well, and their hot cafe latte is also good. Also the owner is really kind.

Excellent and authentic French Bakery and Patisserie. Delicious and completely true to life of the best bakeries in France. I am so happy to have discovered this place. The people that work there are conscientious and charming. I forgot my phone there for a few days and when I went back it was waiting for me. Great place.

The pastries look good. I got the chocolate pistachio pastry. It was AMAZING! The staff is also polite and helpful. I am giving it a 3 star because they dont have a lot of seating, just 4 tables but the way they are laid out only 1 party can really sit and the others wouldn't have any room. Also the display case where they keep their pastries has flies in them so really not a pleasant experience watching flies roam around the food you're about to eat.

A very cute little bakery!
I ordered the Strawberry tart ($8) and a ham and brie baguette sandwich. I paid about $25ish for the 2 things. So a bit on the pricey side. But it was good. The sandwich is very simple, so probably wouldn't recommend paying bakery prices on it.

Overpriced and lacking in flavor or technique. These taste and feel like mass produced grocery store style pastries. Instead of the flavor of high quality butter, these taste as if made with margarine or some other shortening.
Several of the pastries also had the dried out texture of a day old bake despite being purchased before 11am.
