HouseWorks
In home care that empowers your loved one to live safely, comfortably and engaged in life. That's BetterCare at Home. It all starts with an exceptional Caregiver. As the leading private in home care company in Newton, MA for more than 20 years, our team is focused on finding, training and supporting the best Caregivers in the business.

Our experienced Caregivers have seen it all and know how to help elderly adults living in Greater Boston. Our proven approach to home care centers on providing seniors the high-quality care we would want for ourselves and our own loved ones.
Services
Our story begins, not surprisingly, at home. As the primary caregiver for her aging mother and father, our founder Andrea Cohen saw firsthand the difference that comfort, safety, and familiarity of home can make for older adults. She drew inspiration from personal experience and committed herself professionally to reimagine aging and make caring for seniors at home easier.
When it comes to in-home care, you have choices. You could hire a Caregiver on your own, use a placement agency or registry, or use an in-home-care agency like HouseWorks. Hiring on your own, however, comes with legal risks for you and your family. Unfortunately, many families don't find out about the legal risks and pitfalls of hiring on their own or using a placement agency until it's too late.
A lot has changed since we founded HouseWorks more than 20 years ago. But one thing remains the same: home is where older adults feel their safest and most comfortable. Simply put, aging at home helps seniors stay at the center of the life they love.

That's why our BetterCare at Home approach works-wrapping our clients and their families in a safety net of support as we guide them through every possible challenge aging at home can throw their way.We assign every client to a dedicated CareTeam. Families know just who to call if they have a question or need advice.
Our Caregivers get to know their clients so well they can spot the slightest change in mood, behavior, or health and anticipate their needs. To many, our Caregivers become like family. When we hire a caregiver, there's a factor we look for that can't be taught. We call it generosity of spirit. It's the innate ability of a person to share their gifts, talents, and happiness freely, without the expectation of something in return.
HouseWorks CareTeams wrap our clients in a safety net of support. These professional and skilled teams oversee every detail of their client's care plan, making sure each client has the resources they need to be safe, engaged and happy at home. They make certain our Caregivers deliver a higher standard of care, too.

Unreliable, inconsistent care and lacking communication with their customers. Despite having an office AT my mom's nursing home, they still miss appointments and can be difficult to get a hold of. I am extremely disappointed.

Having Houseworks caregivers at my father's apartment have allowed him to live a normal life instead of having to move to a nursing home were we would not have had these past 2.5 years with him. He has caregivers 24 hours who keep him active, help him remember PT, get him daily activities in his building, watch shows and listen to his stories (and at 93 he has plenty of them), make sure he takes his medications, and accompany us when we take him to see his doctors. More importantly they are there and call family members whenever there is an emergency. The Houseworks caregivers and their supervisors

Roy gave us a great quote. He repaired the wood trim on our garage doors that a woodchuck decided to snack on. Beautiful job and we are super impressed. Great guy, very friendly. Juan cleaned up the driveway of any nails and debris. Roy also patched a section of the garage floor that was crumbling. Everything looks great!!

I really appreciated the three times one gentleman showed up to do some of the heavy work I cannot do because am disabled. I was told I could have a couple of hours a week and I said once a month was fine.

I haven't heard anything from them since July 2018. I don't know what the problem is there.

Houseworks deserves 10 stars...not five stars. The entire staff including George have been so kind and helpful in the loving care of my mother-in-law...and our entire family. Very professional workers helped with home care and the transition to specialized placement. They went "over and beyond" expectations and we can never thank them enough.

These simple little devices let in a lot of light from a small opening. Also important, Christopher was very good to work with. We are very happy and would go this route again in the future.
