I cannot say enough good things about this bakery! Not only were they able to turn around a gluten free cake with 24-hours notice, but it was AMAZING and you couldn’t even tell it was GF. We got the raspberry poppyseed and it was so moist and delicious. It was such a large cake and reasonable priced. Probably my new go to bakery! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I ordered this Neapolitan cake online this week and it was a very easy and friendly process. The bakery modified the design to fit Rosie's birthday, and I think it turned out perfect!! Beautiful cake and honestly one of the most delicious cakes I've had. The strawberry and chocolate flavors were on point and the cake was super moist.

Their ordering system is outdated and not so customer-friendly. I used it on December 8 to order a cake for December 22. I never received an acknowledgement. Further, this now appears to be their annual holiday break. This was not on their website when I placed my order and again, I did not receive any communication from them. This is not a comment on the quality of their food, just their customer service. Just beware if you are using their online order system.

Thank you Mermaids Bakery for being flexible and super helpful! I was loosing options for getting a cake for my 30th bday and I had 2 weeks left. Talk about last minute! I initially started with a two tier, but because my birthday was one of many other events, I had to shrink the size of the cake. The cake design came out so beautifully done and everyone loved the cake! Thank you so much!

I sent them and email about ordering a birthday cake and got a response saying they couldn’t do it because they were closed on Thanksgiving weekend, which I’m totally fine with. I sent another email saying I could pick it up earlier in the week and that was last week and still no response. Since then I’ve tried contacting them a couple of times and still no one has gotten back to me. You’d think that a business you’ve supported for years wouldn’t ignore you. The best cupcakes ever!! The truest compliment to Jason and Mermaid were that the gluten free dairy free cupcakes we needed to accommodate our allergies were said to be the best cupcakes the wedding guests had ever had!! Jason truly worked with both my allergies and my husband's we are so happy with what we got the cupcakes were amazing!! Thank you!!! I am an out of state bride and we went with Mermaid without tasting the cupcakes and they did not disappoint at all!! Looked great and tasted even better!!

I'm never the type of person to go out of my way to be a karen. But this place has the worse customer service I have ever seen. Two phone calls and both times the girl was rude. Tried changing an order more than 24 hours earlier and she told me we had already baked them. Paying $30 for cupcakes that are well over a day old I could've easily gone to Walmart for old cupcakes.if I'm ordering cupcakes everyone wants them fresh.Sent w a picture of a cake I wanted no one ever got back to me. Would never ever come back or recommend anyone I know to come here

Ordered these for my husband for our anniversary. He moved to Denver over a month ago, from Texas, and has been trying to find us a house to rent but it's been hard. So, for the anniversary we couldn't spend together I wanted to do something special. German chocolate cake is his absolute favorite and apparently hard to find in cupcake form. This place made it happen!!! My email was promptly returned with a phone call and the woman was so nice!!! Gave me the time frame in which they would be delivered and they were right on time!!! I am absolutely impressed! Apparently they taste good

For downtown this is a good place to get cupcakes. I used to come here all the time when I worked downtown and my normal cupcake place closed. They don't have a large variety and they only change flavors weekly instead of daily like other bakeries. They are best ate cold. When they warm up at all the frosting just gets too loose and messy.

The quality of ingredients, the teamwork, and the attention to decorative detail at Mermaids really "takes the cake!!!"
I sent cupcakes to family friends for bereavement, and Diana and her crew did an excellent job! I asked for some "chocolate therapy", and they delivered!
I live out of state now, but I know I can always count on Mermaids Bakery for all my baked goods to send deliciousness to my family and friends in Denver!!!

I randomly stumbled across Mermaids Bakery when I was visiting Denver yesterday...and TRUST me when I say, I am FLABBERGASTED this bakery has only 4.5 stars on Yelp. It should be a solid 5 across the board (I mean I'd recommend 1000 stars if I could.) I had one of their cookies--their marshmallow and Kellogg cereal cookie--and hands down it was one of the top ten cookies I've ever eaten in my LIFE (and I've eaten a lot of cookies...ha!)

I have ordered from Mermaids for a few birthdays and have always been very happy. This time they did a custom beach-themed cake complete with a fondant palm tree and graham cracker beach sand! This was the Samoa Scout cake and it was delicious and also accommodated our family member's tree nut allergy. Thank you again Mermaids!

Can't say if they have a good or bad product. Sent email day ago asking to place an order for birthday cake. They say they get back to you, and then you pay. But no call or email response. Called them today, dude says we got your email...but can't make a cake. So it seems if they can't accommodate you, they don't bother to call or email you back. Whatever.

So I feel as if I'm a bit of a cupcake snob. I've traveled from Michigan to St George , Utah, then Michigan to Florida and Michigan to the east coast and up through Canada back to Michigan. I compare ALL cupcakes to Molly's cupcakes in Chicago. In my opinion they are THE best . The closest I've found is The Salted Cupcake in Grand Rapids and Cupcake Station in Ann Arbor. Enter Mermaids. While in Denver I decided to do a cupcake tour . Mermaids was the 2nd stop. I tried the Salted Caramel and still have the strawberry shortcake to go. Mermaids has the closest frosting to Molly

I got my wedding cake and was totally disappointed. As we were headed to pick it up, the baker (Jenny), asked if i was bringing flowers to decorate it....This wasn't on their website and they didn't tell me prior so i had to literally go to whole foods and get nearly dead flowers (that didn't match my theme) for her to tack on last minute.

I absolutely love this bakery!! I used them for the first time a couple years ago to make my husband's 50th birthday cake (salted chocolate caramel cake: see photo) which was a hit with our friends and the restaurant staff that served us. I've also attended their "Cupcakes and Cider" pairing events at Stems ( a social event not to be missed with colleagues) and recently started purchasing their frozen cookie dough to support them during this pandemic. I'm a total foodie, very picky about my food and impressed with the quality of their baked goods as well as their customer service. I don't have

Sweet dreams are made from sticky, marshmallow, sugary cookies. I've seen them at the highlands farmers several times and decided to give them a try. I grabbed a marshmallow cornflake cookie pack and it was divine! It tastes like you're eating the milk from the bottom of a cereal bowl. It's chewy yet crunchy. Give their cookies a try next time you see them at a farmers market ! They don't sell their cookies in their retail shop. Can't wait to try their cakes cause they look B E A U T I F U L!

Mermaids is a top notch bakery. My Dad ordered me a surprise chocolate birthday cake from this place all the way from the UK. My wife picked it up and surprised me with it.
The cake itself was delicious! What I liked the most was that the cream filling wasn't too sweet or sickly.
The texture of the cake was perfect, nice and spongey.
Come and visit this place if your in downtown Denver and craving cake.

We were having a drink at Union Lodge No.1, which is literally less than 10 feet away from this place, the night before so we came back the next morning to try a cupcake. Man, I was really hoping for something better than what we got. We got a peanut butter, and a snickerdoodle cupcake; neither were anything special. Though the icing wasn't just pure sugar and was somewhat more buttery and creamy they weren't nearly as good as we were wishing they would be.
