Hermannhof Winery
There are few places on earth where the marriage of soil and climate is blessed by great wine grapes. The vineyards of Hermannhof are among them. Of the 4 wineries we visited in the area, this was our favorite. The hostess was very informative and delightful. Found their wines better than the others and the Norton was the best of the Nortons we tasted.

Really enjoyed their dry rose and took some home. Take the time to go downstairs to see the old cellar.

The wine was actually really good and I was so excited for the live music. However, when I walked up to Scotty to ask if we could get a few dancing songs for my friends bachelorette to get up and move to, he was actually super rude and told me that would not happen. Maybe he was tired of drunk girls asking him for Billy Joel but that certainly wasn't me and it kind of ruined my mood for the day. Oh well, off to the next winery

Such a cute little winery shop. We went late in the day and had the best service from the two women working the deli and tasting counters. They went out of their way to make sure we knew what was available, when the kitchen was closing, etc. They even had grape juice and chocolate chips for the kids to "taste". So helpful even through the last minute they were open, and helping multiple groups get what they needed before the shop closed up, too. I loved that we were able to sit in the courtyard after close and enjoy the wine. Fantastic place.

Wow! Karen led us in our tasting and it was a truly wonderful experience. She was knowledgeable, fun and really made it a perfect experience! The wine was lovely, I recommend the Vidal Blanc. They also have a deli with cheese and sausage, which we enjoyed with crackers and our wine on their gorgeous patio. This place was the nightlight of our trip to Herman.

We went to quite a few wineries in Hermann. It's not that any of them were bad, but when you're going back-to-back like that, it's easy to compare one to the next. Unfortunately, Hermannof was probably my least favorite of all that we visited.

When we got there, the staff weren't very inviting. That said, we were pretty loud, so no harm no foul on that. The person giving us our tasting told us that they specialize in dry wines so I was very excited because dry wines are my favorite. They only had two white options, both made with a chardonnay grape. I completely understand

Good wine. Enjoyed talking to the lady who did the tasting for us. We were the only customers at the time so we got all her attention, but you could tell she enjoys what she's doing and was super helpful. $8 for tasting felt worth it. Grabbed a few bottles and a bottle of whiskey as well. I'm sure it's cheaper elsewhere, but didn't bother us. We will check it out again next time in Hermann.

We went back to this winery twice during our weekend and had a lovely time during both. We first went in for a wine tasting. The lady who did our tasting was great, with lots of attention and conversation. We went back on Monday when most things in the town were shut for the day. We got a picnic that included bread, sausage, cheese and an apple. You can buy wine by the glass. The dining room was warm and inviting! We spend a few hours there playing games, talking with other guests and the lovely worker who was a fellow chiefs fan! She even brought us more wine! I loved this winery and would love

The are taking Covid precautions and wearing masks which is appreciated. Knowledge tasting and you select 6 to try. They provide oyster crackers between tastes and dark chocolate for the sweet fruit wine. The patio area is beautiful with flowers all around and tables not crowded together. We enjoyed dejecting a cheese, sausage & cracker for a lunch with wine in the patio. A great way to spend an hour our two relaxing.

Must stop here if you're doing a Hermann Winery Tour! Great place, lots of seating, can do self tours of the barrel room and a shop in place! Very friendly staff. Semi-affordable wine but in line with other Missouri wine.

The employees were so kind and knowledgeable. I loved that they had a cute store with decor as well. We did the wine tasting which was a step above in price than others in the area. They also upcharge for many of the options, they probably should just do a premium tasting or basic. I would definitely visit again.

Nice wine tasting they offer a mix of Missouri wine and California wine which is a refreshing change from all the wineries. Prices seemed a tad more expensive for the bottles then the other wineries we have had. The two ladies who helped us very nice and very informative they gave us a little history about all the wineries in the area.

Was less than impressed with my stop at this winery. The old building is pretty cool but has this awful, old, musty smell as soon as you walk in.

The ladies working behind the bar were pretty nice and knowledgeable, but the wine just sort of fell flat for my husband and I. Nothing really stood out as anything special. If you've never been to Hermann and are wanting to experience some of the older wineries, it's definitely worth seeing. I will most likely not return

Neat place with great shopping for food items and decor but we were there for the wine. Did the tasting and the last was very knowledgeable and nice. Wines were very good. I went with the dry wines and don't love too sweet. Good start for a day long wine tour.

Gross Missouri wine. Sugar water. The cellars smell like someone peed down there. Will not return, will not buy on the shelves. Went to their California wine room. Wine was great. Lady with the "I want to see the manager" hair cut was SUPER racist. Dont go here unless you are a white guy who is Catholic. Seriously, these are not good people. Avoid if you value human life!

Loved this cute little winery/tasting room! One side of the building has a sausage and cheese store, one side has a wine tasting room of the Missouri wines, and next to that is a tasting room for the California wines. Wished we could've stayed longer, but we loved our five wine tasting for only $6 and really enjoyed the self guided tour of their wine cellar (a nice touch!)

It was Saturday and really busy, but I felt like the service in the tasting room was poor. It took more than 5 minutes for anyone at the bar to recognize that we were interested in a tasting. We had to wait for space at the bar, which is fine, but being acknowledged would have been nice. The wine was amazing, and I bought a bottle of the White Lady to bring home. Hermannhoff is beautiful, and I would recommend it for anyone wanting to get a true taste of Hermann.

My last trip made Hermannhof Winery really grow on me. Although I didn't do the tasting, I decided to check out their evening band. I noticed early during the day that they have a beautiful patio space where they have live music from about 5:30-9:30 PM. The best part: unlike Oak Glenn, there is no cover charge!! Only rule is no outside food, which is totally understandable!

We arrived around 7:30 PM and it was pretty packed. Lucky for us, we were able to snag one of the last tables. What I enjoyed a lot about the experience was that they had a live band and a DJ. In other words, they would

Stop by and do a wine tasting when passing through this adorable town. The lady doing the tasting was so knowledgeable about the history and grapes of the region. We enjoyed learning about the Missouri wine history and loved sampling their wines. We purchased a bottle to take to our hotel to sip by the pool at the Elms Hotel. If you want to have a picnic there are tables outside along the river. There was a great store to buy sausages and cheeses at down the street too. Loved stopping here and the town is so adorable.

Hermanhof was super crowded when we were there, but that didn't deter us from wine tasting. Personally I loved the Germantown wine....tastes like grapes right off the vine. There are lots of souvenirs and wine related items to buy here. Nice area out back with umbrella covered tables to sit at while you drink a favorite bottle of wine.
