Mental Health Chaplaincy
Schizophrenia is a serious disorder of the mind and brain but it is also highly treatable. The treatment success rate with antipsychotic medications and psycho-social therapies can be high. 70% of adults in the U.S. have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives. Up to 20% of these people go on to develop PTSD.

People with bipolar disorder face up to 10 years of coping with symptoms before getting an accurate diagnosis. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States of 18% of the population. Listen carefully, in community and over time, to hear especially the language of the soul and the story of hope and wholness in us each.
Services
Founded by Rev. Craig Rennebohm in 1987, the Mental Health Chaplaincy provides a companion presence in the city for those living in homelessness, mental illness, addictions and trauma. Outreach to our neighbors on the streets who struggle with a major mental illness, trauma and abuse, and chemical dependency.
The King County Crisis Clinic has a website with good information and also provides their 24-hour Crisis Line. Sophia Way provides shelter, life skills training, social services and supportive permanent housing for homeless women. Congregations For The Homeless provides emergency shelter, case management, and housing support for homeless men.
The Project aims to provide a space for creative activity, alongside companioning relationships and respectful engagement for Seattle residents living in circumstances of mental illness, homelessness, and other forms of isolation. When: Every Tuesday from 3:00-5:30pm (except for the last Tuesday of each month) at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (15 Roy St. Seattle, WA).
