Services
At Island Family Medicine, we specialize in the treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. I am so happy to have found this small family practice after relocating to the area from up North. I have seen both Dr Blair and Dr Davis, both have provided me with superb care. The nurses and doctors have never rushed me during an appointment and always take the time and effort to get down to the bottom of what is wrong.
At Island Family Medicine, we specialize in the treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. Yes, our office is contracted and staffed by Pathgroup that will complete outside lab orders from other providers. Your provider will receive the results from Pathgroup. Outside labs orders do not come back to Island Family medicine.

Every time I visit, I have to wait for an EXTREMELY long time. Other patients in the waiting room evidentially feel the same considering I have witnessed on almost every visit at least one patient asking what is taking so long to be seen. My appt literally takes 5 minutes once I finally see Dr Blair. I don't understand why I schedule appointments at 2:50 and don't even get seen till 4:15 almost EVERY atone. Why make the appt at 2:50 then??? Today a walkin was seen before I was and I had a SCHEDULED appointment. Ugh. Mismanagement of time and resources.

Sadly, although we enjoyed Dr Seaborn Blair, after enduring one hour waits each visit (even with an appt), when arrived for our daughters 4 Year Wellness Visit. They advertise on their website that they provide these, and sent me email reminders to schedule hers, yet when we were finally seen we were informed that they do not stock children's vaccines and we would have to go to the Health Dept!?! DO NOT CLAIM TO OFFER PEDIATRIC SERVICES IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE WHAT IS REQUIRED.

I was hoping to have found my new doctor after moving here, but he was not a pleasant man at all. I found him to be rude and impatient (heavy sighs included), sadly, and at the end of the appointment, he made sure to let me know that he would only see me for urgent needs, not as a patient and not for prescriptions. Not quite sure what the issues were, but I'll happily drive farther to see someone with professionalism and tact.

I just got off the phone with the rudest receptionist that I have ever spoke to on the phone. I called to see if I could get an appointment for my wife because she was not feeling well. We were also looking for a new PCP for our family. This woman did everything that she could do to tell us not to come in. She then started to argue with me about my wife's medical records. We had seen Dr Blair about 4 years ago and he was alright, but the woman at the from desk was awful then as well. The reason that we were thinking about going back to Dr Blair was because we live in Surf City and it

Overall, good experience. While in the area on vacation, our daughter bumped heads with her cousin and developed a golf-ball sized knot on her forehead. Probably not a big deal, but we wanted to be sure. Came across this place while driving around trying to find a different urgent care clinic. They quickly assessed our daughter and managed our expectations on how fast we'd be seen. They beat the estimate, as we were out the door after an hour and 15 minutes. Great advice on our daughter's injury. Folks were very friendly and compassionate. Would definitely come back here.

I experienced issues with a clogged ear while on vacation with my family, and I decided to go to urgent care to get it checked out. Island Family Medical was close to our rented condo and looked welcoming, so I thought it would be a good place to try. It was not. My wife and I walked in and waited for ten minutes while the receptionist sat with her back to us. When she finally acknowledged us, she greeted us with rude "what do you want?" I told her that I was experiencing a clogged ear and wanted to have a doctor look at it. She responded with "well, it's going to be a two hour

This was the absolute worst medical experience of my life! I came to this practice after I had a swimming accident and had a deep cut on my leg. The doctor didn't ask me how I was doing, didn't even look at my face at all, took a look at the cut and said "well it's boarder line of whether of not you will need stitches" he left the room and came back with equipment to make the stitches (I assumed he didn't find it necessary to discuss the matter with me further before he decided to go ahead with the procedure) The office told me they already called in my prescription
