The idea behind Bluegrass came from Jim Lederer who has spent almost forty years in the business. Jim has been involved in restaurants since 1984. He started his career with the Stouffers Restaurant Corporation, Jim was then introduced to Don Roth and there was a short courting period where the relationship grew quickly.
Jim was given the GM role at Don Roth's in Wheeling for 9 years. After 9 years with Don Roth's in Wheeling, Jim accepted an opportunity to get involved with Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and ended up running the kitchen at Bub City. Jim then created another opportunity by opening up Crawdaddy Bayou in Wheeling.

I was in the area with my adult Son today, down from Wisconsin, and thought this spot looked interesting. Went over lunch. They were fairly busy, and like everyone else nowadays, short staffed. Even with that, we were seated promptly, and had our water and drink order taken right away. We ordered the Boudin Sausage for an appetizer, it came on a piece of grilled bread with a delicious sauce over it. The sausage was stuffed with rice and crawfish. I thought it was fantastic, my Son thought it was just OK. Our lunch came with a Casar Salad, or for a small up charge, the Bluegrass salad. We opted

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Came in with high expectations and they did not disappoint! We will absolutely be back and can not wait to try the other things on the menu! The staff was truly so nice and took their time talking to us and explaining things. We could not stop talking about how good thing place is our entire meal! The bread and butter was the highlight though... absolutely amazing and will absolutely be back!

Came here for a work function, it is quite a small restaurant inside but has a lovely bar and wonderful attentive staff including bartenders and wait staff.
We had the steak which was delicious. But my friend recommended the jambalaya which was delicious and made in the house. I love the creole spin on the cuisine
In the summer they have a beautiful patio.

My fiancee and I were looking for a restaurant for dinner before we went to Lightscape at the Botanical gardens and are really happy we came across this place!
We were able to get a last minute reservation on a Thursday night through OpenTable, and I'm glad we did because they were full inside!
They have a large spirits, cocktail, and wine list. They also have a couple beer options as well. I tried the Negroni and my other half tried the Manhattan. Both were delicious.
Their food menu is very expansive, with a mixture of seafood, BBQ, Italian, and Asian style dishes. I was honestly a little

Shrimp and Grits
Every year I vacation in South Carolina and have shrimp and grits for dinner every night from a different restaurant. Every place makes it differently. Tonight, after having a taste for it, I found Bluegrass and that they had shrimp and grits,.
The flavor of the shrimp and grits at Bluegrass was the best I have ever had. I got it carry out with a 45 minute ride home and I am saying that.

Wife and I tried Bluegrass last night for the first time and just a great experience from start to finish. My pan seared walleye was excellent with great mashed potatoes and green beans. Wife had the Faroe Islands salmon which she said was one of the best she's had and the side of orzo Asiago was amazing . The host Joni was so accommodating and came by to give us some ideas and Joel was a great server. Good beer menu and we topped off the meal with bananas foster! Nice comfortable outdoor seating too. We'll be back soon.

Stopped in for lunch and couldn't be more pleased. It's a quaint restaurant that used to be Japanese restaurant. They have indoor and some limited outdoor patio seating. We started with the "taster" size calamari, which was appropriate for two people. The "regular" calamari on the menu comes served in an oversized (huge) martini glass. Then I enjoyed the complimentary shot of gumbo from the Yelp check in - it was ahhhhhhmazing. Next time I'll order a cup. The bread and butter is yummy and the bread is a cinnamon sugar flavor.
The ahi tuna sandwich was good, but

Absolutely fantastic, one of-a-kind restaurant. Everything they do is perfection. A great selection of entrees with some great seasonal additions. From a basic Chicken Caesar salad for lunch to Shrimp & Grits for dinner they nail it every time. The bar is well stocked and don't forget to try one of their special martinis.

Wow! I am impressed and can't believe I haven't tried this place yet! I decided to give it a try tonight because I had a gift card. Every single item I tried was DELICIOUS! It's not common to find a place this good in the suburbs! I'll start with the bread and cinnamon butter, it is to die for! Then the chopped salad was very fresh and had a flavorful dressing. The bbq corned beef was unlike anything I've ever eaten, and had a great smoky flavor and was extremely tender. Side dishes of creamed corn, mashed potatoes, and potato wedges were all seasoned well and tasted homemade
