A native of Pittsfield, Ryan is licensed to practice acupuncture by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine and licensed in the states of Connecticut and Wisconsin. He holds National Board Certifications in acupuncture and Chinese herbology. He holds a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine from one of the oldest and most well established schools in the country, Midwest College in Oriental Medicine.
New England Acupuncture & Herb Clinic offers a full range of traditional Chinese medical therapies. Some of these, often referred to as 'accessory techniques', may be included within an acupuncture visit. Such techniques include cupping, moxibustion, tui na (chinese therapeutic massage), and others.
The Chinese word for acupuncture is zhen jiu, and translates as 'needle and fire', or as 'acumoxa therapy'. Where does the fire come from? Well, there is a technique that has been employed by acupuncturists over the ages, and it is called 'moxibustion'. It is a special form of heat therapy. Below, we will describe this and some of the other techniques which, while lesser known here in the U.S., are quite valuable.
Though Traditional Chinese Medicine is roughly 5000 years old, it has a lot it can offer patients who have cancer. In this case history, we will look at a patient who benefited greatly from some basic acupuncture, herbs, and moxibustion. This patient's story is a really great example. The patient, whom we will call Mr. C, had been in remission for some 2 years but was still getting chemotherapy twice a year.

I'm in the Berkshires for the holidays and I reached out to Ryan Less the day after Christmas this year while experiencing some anxiety and panic - I suffer from generalized anxiety and major depressive disorder and am currently being treated for that by my acupuncturist at home in California and it's the only treatment that I have experienced real results from - my herbs were running low from home and felt myself going down a rabbit hole of depression so I thankfully found him on google and he immediately responded to me and went above and beyond to help me by coming into the office

I was so happy with my experience with Ryan Less.
This was my first acupuncture experience, I was a little scared,,,, the idea of being stuck by needles to relieve pain and stress was VERY new to me,,,, BUT it REALLY worked.
Ryan was calm, professional and extremely personable.
I think a treatment after a long car ride, a ski day or if you are just stressed upon your arrival in the Berkshires is a great way to maximize your relaxation and good health.
I found that Ryan's offerings was well worth the price and an extremely good value.

Ryan's expertise and professionalism is evident immediately. I've been treated by Ryan for nearly 6 months and it has changed my life. His ability to relieve my intense and consistent migraines in the first 3 sessions blew my mind.

A couple weeks ago I went to Mr. Less for some shoulder pain. Really nice professional space and treatment rooms. He put needles in my hands and feet and within a few minutes my shoulder was already 80% better, and after 15 minutes I felt totally calmed down inside. My shoulder has been much better as well, which allowed me to resume shoulder exercises at the gym.

I've been going to Ryan Less for many years for herbs and acupuncture and supplements. Even after I moved to Florida, I continued to consult with him for herbs that he would ship to me for certain conditions and I try to get in for acupuncture when I am in Pittsfield for the summer.
