Dave Matoso, PT and Tony Tognetti, DPT, formed the original Apex Clinic in San Mateo in 2005. Since that time, Apex has become one of the most respected and well known orthopedic and sports rehabilitation facilities on the Peninsula. Apex expanded to its second location in San Carlos in 2007. San Carlos has become a vibrant and thriving clinic, mirroring the orthopedic and sports related patient care provided in the San Mateo clinic.
Apex SF will provide the highest level of orthopedic and sports rehabilitation care in keeping with the Apex brand. Dave, along with the entire Giants medical staff, did a great job of getting me back on the field after my ankle surgery. Dave got the most out of me with every visit and explained what we were trying to accomplish each session.

I have had treatment at Apex San Carlos twice for injuries over a few years. I would give ten stars if I could. The entire staff is awesome, professional, and very helpful. During my current visits, Tina has been my therapist and Ivy, her assistant has also helped me. Both have made a huge difference in my healing (and emotional well-being). Diana and Che at the front desk have also been remarkable giving excellent service and being very patient with scheduling, etc. Apex is very clean, with an attractive environment, and careful during Covid times. Hope corporate Apex sees my review. Thank you

I am highly recommending Apex Therapy for your physical needs.
I have been going to Apex Therapy for over 2 months now for a total knee replacement.
I could not be more happy with my results, I am walking perfectly normal now with no limp or pain, I still need to improve my range of motion, which is almost there now, just a few more degrees to go.
My therapist is Jen, who is very knowledgeable in the exercises and treatment you need for your situation, Jen is very professional and friendly.
Jen’s assistant Kevin is also a big help in my rehab, and is a nice guy.

Best experience yet in all my years of PT at other places! For the first time in at least 15 years I am now walking without pain. Tim was terrific at listening to my concerns and performed a very thorough, comprehensive evaluation (I don't think any other PT ever did that for me anywhere else). His hands on therapy is incredibly helpful and I can see he is always thinking about/using new methods to improve my health. Reina is smart and great at teaching me exercises and making sure I correctly perform them. She is always so positive and attentive even if they've got a full studio of

I'm very (super) pleased with the PT from APEX in San Carlos (near Industrial and Brittan). I had tried one unsuccessful, ~6-week round of doctor/PT with no improvement, so I was pretty depressed since I was going down stairs like I was 95 and could no longer even ride my bike (Cycling is life!)
Going in... it's easy to get to. Right off a 101S exit. The facility is big and airy and has a good vibe. There are big windows and trees. There's even a hummingbird outside one of the windows. Every week it's checking up on me while I'm on one of the machines. I'm

I have used Apex on two separate occasions after separate rotator cuff surgeries on each of my shoulders and the repair of one arm's torn bicep tendon. I was over 70 at the time of the first surgery and 74 at the time of the second surgery. David and the entire crew at Apex were knowledgeable, careful and caring in getting me through two successful full rehabilitations.

I came to this location to make an appointment after my doctor suggested I come here. I pulled up in the parking lot a spot right next to the door and I looked inside and I saw someone walking around without a mask on.
So I sat there thinking to myself why would I want to go in there, a few moments later out walks this man without a mask on or one in his hand so I walked inside and said "my doctor recommended I come here but I'm wondering who's that person that just left?" Lady "oh that's Tim" something or other and I said "oh that's nice why is Tim

As an individual in their twenties who has been in and out of therapy for various injuries from a multitude of athletic endeavors and high-risk adventures, the PT team at the San Carlos Apex Physical Therapy clinic provides the best care out of 4+ physical therapy clinics that I've utilized in the Bay Area.
The open floor is intimidating at first but it creates a layout and structure similar to what one will find at a gym once having (hopefully) successfully completed therapy and begun to execute their long-term recovery/exercises on their own.

After minor knee surgery my orthopedic gave me a prescription for physical therapy here. Was happy as I had previously seen Tim for another injury. Was assigned to Danny and his awesome assistant, Emily.
They immediately took action and within the first week I was able to get down to one crutch and little by little ramp up to prepare for my European trip where I eventually walked like 10miles a day.
Danny and Emily were very professional and always changed up the routine to ensure they were evaluating my progress and giving me a bit more. Not yet but major improvements over where I would have

Baseball baseball baseball. Tim and his crew are the best and they are very knowledgeable when it comes to baseball. I brought my son to see Tim on a recommendation because of an injury to his throwing shoulder. Tim recommended that we do an MRI which showed a tear on the labrum.
After a month from surgery, we started rehab and Tim was able to get my son swinging a bat in 2 months and start his throwing program after 4 months from surgery. Can't thank him enough.

I started physical therapy shortly after being diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis. As a psychologist, I've spent a large part of my career working in healthcare settings. This gives me a basis for my judgment.
My initial evaluation done by Danny Horgan, DPT, one of their spine specialists, was thorough and professional. He asked the right questions and listened carefully to my answers. He did a thorough exam (range of motion, pain level, etc.) and reviewed the documentation I'd brought with me. After taking me through some exercises and stretches, and doing some spinal manipulation
