Services
Located in Liberty Lake, Washington, our specialties include multifocal contact lenses, dry eye management, headache evaluation, disease management and routine vision exams. We work closely with area physicians to co-manage patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, or those taking high-risk medications such as those for Arthritis or Multiple Sclerosis.

We are in the office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, but we answer our phones 7 days a week!
At Lilac Family Eye Care, we prescribe all manners of contacts, whether you are in daily soft contacts, RGP's (hard contacts) or are doing myopia control with Ortho-K. See more information on myopia control. Our contact lens evaluations are broken into three tiers, depending on the complexity of the fit.
When it is time to purchase new glasses, it is easy to become overwhelmed with the many options for lenses. Choosing between different materials, coatings, upgrades, and even manufacturers can play a role in your overall satisfaction with your glasses, so it is important to fully understand the choices you are making.
There are three layers to the tear film - the water layer (keeps everything wet), the mucous layer (holds the water on the eye) and the oil layer (keeps the water from evaporating). A problem with any of these layers can cause dry eye, or, ironically, can cause the eyes to water. Treatment for dry eye depends on which layer(s) is causing the problem.

It simply doesn't get any better than this! I have been going to optometrists for over 60 years and have encountered some excellent individuals. However, Dr. D stands at the top of my list, as the most amazing! She is the most professional, courteous, thorough, caring and informative doctor I have ever encountered. Dr. Darnell and staff are very professional and friendly. Dr. Darnell is very professional, doesn't miss a thing, and is very personable . I just received my new glasses which came complete with Dr. Darnell's Neurovision lenses. I am able to say I am more that completely satisfied. My eyes have had a hard time refocusing after I read for an hour or more. I just read an exciting mystery thriller, over four hours, and my older eyes didn't have any trouble adjusting to distances when I finished reading. I am amazed that the new lenses worked so well. I encourage anyone with tired eyes to try Dr. Darnell's new lenses.

I was amazed with Dr. Darnell and her entire staff! Everyone was so sweet from the minute we walked in the door. Nothing was rushed and you could tell they really cared about making sure our appointment was accurate and thorough. My feisty five year old son needed to get his eye exam as well and they were beyond patient with him and made his experience great!! We would both definitely recommend!! It was really nice and refreshing to be treated so well at a business. So friendly, kind and patient!! 🤗

After going to my previous clinic for over 20 years and just feeling like a number where they don't care, I decided to try Lilac Family Eye Care. I'm SOOOOOOOO happy we made the switch to them.
The Doctor and staff were not only caring, but incredibly informative. They really spend time with you to ensure your eye health, is as it should be.
The facility is up to date (modern) and very clean.

I’ve been going to Lilac Family Eye Care for a couple of years now. I’m so impressed with the clean and modern facility and equipment. Working with Michelle and her staff is a joy. They make the entire process fun and enjoyable. I trust Lilac with my eye care and know that they really care about me and all of their patients. I was also impressed with the care taken to protect their patients from exposure to COVID.

I came to Dr. Darnell once my eyes started to bother me from the amount of time I have to spend in front of a screen for school/work. She was very kind and welcoming, as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile! She also educated me on what happens to your eyes when they're focused on screens for so long, and gave me some helpful eye exercises to keep myself from straining and drying my eyes out. Its been about 5 days now and I can really feel a difference! I highly recommend Lilac Family Eye Care!
