This place is always great but I thought I would share a specific example of how great there are.
My wife and I ordered a takeaway meal but unfortunately they forgot to pack the dessert we ordered.
We called back and asked if we could come pick it up. The My place by the sea staff refused and insisted on bringing the desert to us. Which they did. Within 5 minutes they had their “something chocolate” special at our door AND they refunded dessert.
I am certain there is no better case study in customer service. By the way, the food is fantastic too.

Very price (figure $40 for a lunch without alcohol), but the fact that they always have a line out the door shows that any lower price point would just be leaving money on the table. Yes, you will pay $16 for a burger you can get for half the price or less in a place without the location and atmosphere.
The food is good, the location excellent (especially if you get an outside table in good weather) and the staff were all excellent. They even sent someone out to tell us when to expect to be seated, and followed up with us regularly.

My daughter and I had a great dinner while staying in Rockport. The wait staff was amazing. Very sweet and VERY patient, especially with the fact our waiter was dealing with a very demanding and snobby table next to us, he handled it like a pro. The food wasn't the best I ever had but it was very good despite!

What an amazing spot! If you’re looking to enjoy the beauty of the north shore, My Place By The Sea captures it perfectly. Not only is the location incredible but the food and service is A+. Scampi, Swordfish, mussels, and Wine...you can’t go wrong with any choice. I can’t wait to return and do it all over again.

Food, ambiance and service were great. I was appreciative of the vegetarian chili and cottage potatoes since I don’t eat meat. We just walked up and space was available on the patio so we didn’t know anything about reservations. The tables are a little close if they’re all full so if you want to have a confidential conversation this isn’t the place. I didn’t find it troublesome, only pointing it out since I overheard a few things from the table next door which I’m sure they didn’t want anyone to know.

Despite the negative reviews, we decided to try My Place for ourselves and are so glad we did! Their reservation policy is a bit unconventional, but we don't own a restaurant on the coast and can't say what we would do in their situation; we just went with it. We were treated like family and very well attended to. The food was delicious! We highly recommend My Place by the Sea for their hospitality, warm atmosphere, and amazing menu!

Most definitely by the sea, so much so in fact the views alone might feed your 'ocular appetite'. "My Place" however is a bit of a misnomer; it's a great place for anyone - so long as you have a reservation. Spectacular flavor, delightful staff, and located in a hotbed of local fish-town personality. My kind of place by the sea.

Just a 5 star experience from beginning to end. If you look at all the negative reviews, they are almost all cranky because they couldn’t get a seat. Folks, this place is a small restaurant with limited seating. It is THE destination in Bearskin Neck with the absolute best view you will ever find. Sometimes you can get a table and sometimes you can’t. That’s life! It is human nature I guess to complain when you can’t get your way.

This was the most mixed experience I’ve had which is what prompted me to write this review. First of all, the food and the view is amazing, as shown in photos. However, in a pandemic world it just seems unnecessarily risky to have the only way to make a reservation to stand in line at noon. There were not two lines so we were standing with all the lunch-goers as well. While standing on line, the person behind us managed to get through on the phone (see my failed attempts in photo) and got a reservation. This was pretty frustrating. We had a wonderful experience here last night! We were upset the weather didn’t allow for outside dining but we had a gorgeous view from our table upstairs. Our waitress was great and the food was REALLY GOOD! All 5 of our entrees were delicious and beautifully prepared and the Caesar salad and clam chowder were seriously one of the best we’ve ever had! We are summer residents here in Rockport and had tried this restaurant a while ago and thought it was decent but NOW....5 stars all around! We will be back on a regular basis. We went there over the 4th of July weekend. There wait staff were kids the owner was very rude to a.party that just spent over $500.00 dollars to the point of yelling as a entire staff out the front door. Theses people should not deal with the public. There are over priced for what they offer.the only thing that's good is the view outside.

They have a $16.00 burger which is worth about $8.00.. "Cottage Fries" were bland, unseasoned, not even warmed up, inedible, tasted like they were cooked 2 days before I got them. "Side salad" was ugly, thrown together few pieces of lettuce, a few pieces of raw onion, and two halved cherry tomatoes. No dressing, blah, boring. Burger had some overcooked bacon and too much cheese, the patty was well cooked, but looked machine-made, right from freezer to table. Poppy seed bun not even toasted (lazy). This I call the "Zero-Effort Burger." So much you could do with this

Don't go to this restaurant! Owner is crazy! Just like many of the reviews below. They don't care about their customers. Staff is rude, food is overpriced. Only good thing is view. We ate here and then walked around town and got ice cream. Public bathrooms were closed. Had an emergency so decided to go to bathroom on way to car. While I was in bathroom I heard banging on door and yelling for me to get out. She said she was calling police because I was using her bathroom. I came out and owner and 4-5 staff members were blocking door to leave. They had locked me in while she ranted and

Everything was superb from the bread (OMG the focaccia was literally the best thing i've ever had) to the lovely atmosphere and our wonderful server Marie. If you're staying in Rockport, do yourself a favor and dine here. Waterfront view, amazing service and the food was so fresh and high quality. Marie was so sweet and great at her job, she went above and beyond.

For some reason Rockport has not attracted much top level restaurant talent. There is good seafood option (which I don't eat) and a decent cafe or two. And the strudel house makes yummy stuff.
But if you're looking for exciting and unique food, you're not going to find any out here. I imagine that the cohort that would be most satisfied with the food in Rockport is the white ages 69-75 group.

We lucked out and got the last lunch reservation. An adorable 12 year took our names and was very polite. Our sever was soft spoken and didn't rush us. We both got the $20 sandwich and soup deal and it was the perfect lunch portion. I thoroughly enjoyed mine and would be back to order again. My boyfriend got the haddock and said it was on the plain side, but still enjoyed it. We got an ocean view and I loved every minute! It was my boyfriends birthday so it was perfect.

Swearing with a steady allowance of the "F" bomb.
I asked a waitress who was being so unprofessional?
She told me Kathy the owner.
Being that she was the owner and chef,
We felt it unsafe and Left before her episode

We went to the fish house down the street.
People there were warm and friendly.
After speaking to the locals about our altercation,
I was told that Kathy was notorious with this behavior

Absolutely love this "Place"! Food was delicious the empires are breathtaking. We had the appetizer sampler, fig and prosciutto pizza and the lobster roll on baguette. Everything came out fresh and temperature appropriate. I also thoroughly enjoyed my lemon cucumber martini. We have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Can't wait to come back again!
