As the name implies, you'll find all things French and scrumptious here. Drop by for a decadent chocolate croissant, but linger for a heartier bite at the adjacent bistro. Le Marais might just be San Francisco's best French patisserie. The bakery is drawing attention for its delicious, authentic Parisian pastries.
While enjoying Le Marais' French treats, also take a minute to savor the charm of the shop. Best Breakfasts In San Francisco: The croissants here are incredible, and the granola with yogurt is our favorite in the city. If you want something more interactive, the breakfast board option lets you pick eggs, toast, fruit, lox and other fixings to create your own spread.

Disappointing. The coffee was pretty standard but there is an entire bistro menu online that is not actually up and running. We showed up to find few options include cold crossoints and a "veggie" quiche that turned out to be a ham quiche. When we realized the counter attendant just gave me a crossoint instead . Overall very mediocre experience for SF, I would consider going somewhere else

BRUNCH OF MY DREAMS
This place is not only adorable but the staff is so sweet. I came in with my dad and they hadn’t seen him for a bit so they gave us a chocolate croissant on the house. Food is the way to my heart and that was only the beginning of an amazing experience. I ordered their avocado croissant toast (yes a second croissant) and couldn’t have been happier. It was one of the best croissants I have had to date and felt like I was in a little Parisian cafe eating it. Of course we had to wash it down with an espresso and mimosa. My only regret is not ordering their French onion soup

Love. Love. Love. Purely for the aesthetics, I think it is the most gorgeous cafe I've been to in a long time and it temporarily felt like I was away from the city while I was there. Tables inside were mostly for two, and close together, but there were two larger tables by the windows. Both of which seemed really cozy. The tables outside were a great outside option (if it wasn't raining). I could see parking being a problem, but thankfully I came at an off time during the weekday.
Had a mocha and a chocolate/almond croissant. The croissant was definitely really chocolatey. Would probably

Possibly the best cafe I have been to in a long time! I felt like I was teleported to France. I had a cappuccino and it was not too sweet and the coffee flavor was strong. The croissant was served on a warm plate! It was flakey on the outside and buttery, soft and airy in the inside. I had a plain one but it was very flavorful. The ambiance of the whole place was amazing. The prices are very reasonable, cheaper than many chain coffee shops but with a more aesthetic vibe. The staff are also very friendly. Tip: If you want your coffee served in a mug you need to order either the small or medium.

What a wonderful way to start your morning! Stumbled upon this bakery walking to Dolores and I'm so glad I did. For a weekend the tables were pretty full already but great to see a lot of locals enjoying their morning or just reading a book. When you walk by the first thing you will notice is the smell of their sweet baked goods so you know I had to get more than one item.
In addition to my coffee I ordered their chocolate and ham & cheese croissants to go and they were massive! One is enough to share between two people but I enjoyed the sweet & savory mix. Both croissants were flaky

It was one of those lazy Sunday mornings, a touch of haze in the air and the rumblings of a hungry stomach. Just minutes away is relief, French cuisine to the rescue.
Such a lovely menu. So many choices. Thankfully there are 2 rumbly tummies so more to choose and share.
Ah, Croque Monsieur! Comment non? Avec le moutard!
And French Toast brioche. Formidable! Alors!
What a wonderful start to a morning, anyday!
Enjoy!

Love, love, love this bakery!
We enjoy breakfast here whenever we can and we all love it! I usually get a board with levain, smoked salmon, salad, avocado and mixed fruits. My partner gets a ham and cheese croissant and my son gets a chocolate croissant. For drinks, my partner and I get almond milk lattes and an apple juice for my son.
The chocolate croissant is almost as big as our 5-year-old's head, but somehow he manages to eat every bite. My board is always full of fresh and delicious ingredients and the lattes are always perfect.
Not only is the food delicious, but the cafe itself

I went to Le Marais for a late lunch on a weekday and it was decently crowded but still plenty of seating to choose from. There were a number of decadent menu items to choose from, and I went with the seemingly more responsible order - the club sandwich. The club sandwich was tasty, and I particularly enjoyed the bread which was hearty enough to stand up to all of the fillings....but wasn't overly toasted (like a lot of club sandwiches).
There are a number of tables for indoor dining and 4-5 tables outdoors. I hear that their coffee is good so I'll definitely try it next time!

Went for a brunch on a Sunday. The line was quite long but it is easy to find a table. Got the breakfast board with 5 choices - croissant, fried egg, smoked salmon, bacon and seasonal fruit. I'm not a very pastry person but the croissant is really well made with some crunch on the outside but fluffy inside. The options for the choices are quite diverse and the ones I got are cooked nicely too. A satisfying breakfast and a good spot to chill and relax with friends.

This place is great. I don't know why the previous reviews were so harsh on the pastries. Ours were absolutely delicious and flaky and buttery and perfectly fattening. Latte and americano were full bodied and served at the right temp. The avocado toast was a huge portion so we shared this. Super friendly staff.
Outdoor seating.
Dogs welcome.

Came here on a whim, after my friends and I saw that our original planned spot was closed that day. We mainly decided to eat here since they had outdoor seating and were dog friendly. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was hopeful seeing how busy they were on a Sunday morning.
Orders are placed inside and you get a number so the staff can bring your order to you wherever you decide to sit. This was a con for me since I had my dog and wasn't able to see what was available and order for myself, since it didn't seem like dogs were welcomed inside the establishment, only outdoors.

Because I had plans for dessert after brunch, I didn't indulge in Le Marais' bakery items or the heavier savories I usually lean towards. I'm coming straight for their French Onion Soup and Croque Madame the next time I brunch on their outdoor patio.
I ordered a Mozzarella Balsamic Salad ($15) which came with tomatoes & arugula -- fresh & relatively light. I asked for a side of chicken to get a bit of protein in, but the cashier rang me up for chicken sausage instead, which unfortunately was a waste of $6 because I don't eat sausage (that's what she said.)

The croissants here are really good. My group ordered 3 croissants (one almond, one chocolate and one regular) they were all super delicious and flaky. We also ordered 1 coffee and 2 regular lattes those were goood but not the best. Minus one star because when I got their something happened with their register and the woman helping us didn't know what to do, we offered to pay In cash but she looked at us like we were crazy. We waited about 10 mins for her computer to restart just to pay in card. That was super weird

Stopped here for a peaceful and delightful brunch after a night of debauchery where I drank just a bit too much. The food and tea I got from Le Marais really saved the day.
I got a black tea and the Bacon Gruyère Croissant Egg Toast which was such a huge perfect hungover portion size. Two huge round croissants with onion jam and 3ish slices of perfectly cooked bacon AND a fried egg on each. It was heaven!!!
Their patio was so cute, sunny, and warm with all of the tables distanced. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in need of a cute breakfast (even if that breakfast ends up being

Charming quiet bakery cafe. The decor is white and serene, the service pleasant and the food is really good. My daughter enjoyed the crisp levain with priuscotto, while I, suffering from the indignities of a Whole30 diet had to settle for an Americano, hard boiled egg, fruit and avocado. Everything was really great! I will definitely visit again to sample the amazing looking pastries.
