We're a family business who is honored to serve San Francisco's neighborhood communities. Since 1995, our mission has been simple: to bring smiles to our neighbors. We're here to help you celebrate life's moments, big and small: from A+ spelling tests to milestone birthdays. Butter tart shell filled with layers of frangipane, pastry cream, and housemade cranberry jam.

Topped with freshly sliced apples. Our items that are made without gluten are prepared in a common workspace. While we take steps to minimize the likelihood of exposure to flour, our items that are made without gluten are not recommended for guests with Celiac or any other gluten sensitive disorders.

I have been in the food business since my first very job in high school selling kitchen equipment in Rockford, Illinois. I attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco after graduating from Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota. I was only going to come to San Francisco for 16 months, but you can see how that worked out.
We opened our doors in 1995, and that first day we sold out of every baked good by noon. Over the last twenty years, we've learned a few things (like how to keep up with demand!), but are honored to still delight some of those very same customers. We, Mary and Michael Gassen, are the husband and wife founding team behind Noe Valley Bakery.
We're passionate about our breads - you might even say they're our bread and butter. From light and crusty loaves to dense loaves filled with seeds, grains and fruit, we've got a little something for everyone. And for those of you who don't like to be considered "everyone, " we have something for you too.
Getting up before dawn might not sound good to you, but we promise it will taste good! Our bakers are here before the sun's up filling our cases with breakfast pastries made of the finest ingredients, like European butter, Valrhona Chocolate and candied orange peel. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that's just how our dedicated bakers treat it.
Devil's food chocolate cake made without gluten, dark chocolate filling, dark chocolate frosting. ONLY Available in a 6 size. Our items that are made without gluten are prepared in a common workspace. While we take steps to minimize the likelihood. Vanilla sponge cake made without gluten, strawberry Bavarian filling, strawberry buttercream frosting.

The cheesecakes are moist without being too sweet, the brownie was nice and dense with a crisp exterior. Everything here is fairly priced and tastes just right, come and try your own!

We had this pie this weekend for a family celebration and simply... AMAZING, wow the flavours. First I thought it was simply an apple tarte( not pie technically I guess).

But no- under the top apple layer was a gooey crumbly filling with perhaps ricotta and rhubarb
(or another berry?). Top it off with some sort of crunchy texture with very finely chopped nuts in the filling at the bottom.

What more can I say for this delicious pastry - 5 stars for taste, texture, flavour, and presentation.

Huge fan. I finally centered outside my neighborhood after a few months of hunkering down. Noe Valley bakery is a cute bakery that features cupcakes, pastries, bread, cookies, whole cakes, and more. There is typically a wait to get in.

There are three things I loved. 1) They had a large selection of items in stock in the afternoon. I can't tell you how many bakeries I've been to that think it's ok to run out of items by noon. Sorry I'm not waking up at 8am to buy a scone because you can't forecast properly.

2) They had familiar items that were made well. I could get

If you're in the neighborhood, totally worth a visit. The cupcakes are great! Great selection of breads and pastries. Didn't get to the cookies yet, but next time. Ohhh and the almond croissant is stellar!!

THE BEST challah!!! In the US! Trust me it's amazing. Only available on weekends.
Best king cake during Mardi gras season too. Incredible they use the same challah style dough for it. Its incredible better than anything you'll get in new Orleans (I used to live there I am not exaggerating).

This place is ultimately my favorite bakery. Love this place so much that even after moving to East Bay still drive to pick up goodies from here.. from their flourles choc treats to double backed almodn croissant , cupcakes, carrot cake to the one and only milky way bomb !!!so glad is back !! That is the best desert 💜but also the people that work at 24 th and West portal are always so nice and friendly !

Incredible little bakery, with a real local family vibe. Everything looks so tasty, making it extremely difficult to pick. I ended up having the pumpkin cheesecake, in the photo. It tasted beautiful and everything that my friends got was equally as stunning. Drinks also were made to a high quality.
There is no indoor seating so we sat outside, which was perfectly fine for a coffee and cake.

I had a big order right before Christmas that they graciously accommodated. Great experience with everything from service to the freshness and tastiness of the pastries. I'll definitely be coming back soon, and we already marked our calendars to come again next year for the delicious stollen.

If I could, I would give this place zero star. We placed an order for items 2 weeks prior to thanksgiving. The day of pick up we reached an hour prior to our pick up time and we were told one of our items was given away to someone else. No explanation/ no apologies. They may have great tasting baked goods but be very wary of ordering items for special occasions.

[edit] so the ordeal continued ... they said I could go and pick up another different tart at their west portal store. They didn't offer to have it delivered to the noe valley store. Only after asking a couple of times they said that

We went to this bakery for the first time yesterday and just bought a couple things to try. Wow! The pecan swirl and berry scone were so good!!! I’m just annoyed I didn’t try them before we left, otherwise I would have ran back in and bought a few more things. Will definitely be back soon!

Went in to buy cupcakes, 35 minis and I was met with the general manager telling me I wiped out her stock. I told her I would cancel the order but then she said it was fine and she misunderstood but asked that I order in advanced. I didn't mind what cupcakes I got, I said i am sure the kids aren't picky.
I won't go back, the price I paid and the treatment I got wasn't worth it.
She did it in front of all the customers that were waiting. Drunk with bakery power.

Noe valley Bakery located in the prestigious district of Noe Valley. Smack in the middle of 24th This bakery is a gemstone
Within a block or two it goes from a bustling mission and 24th to a quiet suburban neighborhood full of strollers, Teslas and French nannies. In between all this there is a local bakery than serves equally.

As my 5 senses was being stimulated the smell of fresh artisan bread floods my brain. Fresh bread smells clean to me and the visuals of bread baskets wooden adds a really nice touch to the decor. This location is unique as they have one location. This bakery is

I'll give them two stars for the customer service because it's very nice and amazing I specifically went for some cupcakes and I wanted a cupcake I got the two vanilla cupcakes and one lemon drop cupcake soon as I open the box I knew the cupcake wasn't gonna be that good because I looked and I seen that it was that color frosting that you get when you buy a cupcake from Luckys or Safeway the frosting didn't have that homemade taste I don't even think it was homemade it taste like the store-bought buttercream and when you have a cupcake frosting is everything the homemade

This place is DELICIOUS!!! I got the blueberry and pecan scone and the pizza croissant; both of them were honestly some of the best pastries I've ever had.

Im usually not a scone person, but this scone was perfectly soft and crumbly, had just the right amount of sweetness and flavor, and all in all was SUCH a fantastic pastry. And as for the croissant: sooo flaky and delicious, and the pizza topping added such a nice flavor.

I will DEFINITELY be coming back to try more things here!

We stopped here one afternoon in the hopes of getting a funfetti cake. Unfortunately they had just sold their last one when we got there, but we still made out like bandits, loading up on baguettes, fruit tartlet, butter croissant and twice-baked almond croissant. Everything was DELISH! The line was out the door, but moved quickly - and the customer service was friendly and helpful.

W-o-w! We ordered a cake for delivery for my birthday - lemon passion fruit - and undoubtedly it was the BEST cake I've ever had. There was the perfect amount of sweetness, nothing artifical tasting like what you would get at Safeway or Costco. This cake allowed the fruit flavors to carry themselves and the result was heavenly! The cake itself was the perfect amount moist and fluffy. I think we will be most certainly ordering our cakes from here for the foreseeable future.

Also, the dipped cupcake - . It tasted like a cupcake cream puff! Wish we had ordered more!

My new favorite bakery in SF! Noe Valley Bakery is a family business that's been around since 1995. They offer a wide selection of bakery items, including cakes, cupcakes, bread, scones, pastries, quiches, tarts, and more! The original location is pretty small and there is usually a line on weekends, but it goes pretty quickly.

I love savory pastries, and Noe Valley Bakery's selection really blew me away. Their Cheddar Chive Scone is SO GOOD! I could literally eat 10 in one sitting. It's got a good amount of flavor and is not too dry or crumbly like other scones. It's probably

It vaguely looks like what is posted in the online ordering shot (at left). "Large" is about 7-inch diameter. I think the actual 4 blueberries on mine must be the ones that spilled off in their overflowing photo. Fortunately, their stuff tastes great, but if you do online orders, don't count on it really looking like the photos.

We are gluten free and Noe Valley Bakery made the most amazing gluten free cake for my partner’s birthday. We also tried a raspberry tart of some kind (almond filling?) and a gluten free crust. The raspberry flavor was off the wall fresh and full! I have found my new favorite bakery in the Bay Area. I’ll be back for any special occasion. 😍
