Batter is a boutique bakery specializing in unique, handcrafted baked goods. Our All-American sweets are made using premium ingredients and fresh, seasonal flavors. Baked in small batches, our sophisticated yet classic treats will satisfy everything from an afternoon sweet tooth to an elegant event.
Batter baked goods may be ordered in advance for pickup any of our retail locations. 24-48 hours notice is preferred for all orders, but we are often able to accommodate on shorter notice. Please give us a call! Cafe breakfast items are available at our Pine Street kitchen + cafe only - please stop by and say hello!

The owner is willing to bring down other small businesses in order to boost their ego. In a time where many small businesses are struggling, they're focusing on the wrong issues by using profits to threaten a small one-person cake baker over the use of the word "batter" that is 2000 miles away. There are many other bakeries out there that deserve our hard earned money that are kind and compassionate towards others. Just reiterating a previous review.

I called and ordered some scones to be picked up the following day. When I showed up, the scones were all wrapped and ready to go, but through no fault of the staff, everything else that could go wrong, did. It was just one of those days, and if you’ve ever worked retail, you know what I mean. Fortunately, the young woman who helped me could not have been more gracious, and rose above all the problems like a real pro! Previous experiences at the bakery have all been positive, although this stands out as exceptional! I highly recommend this great neighborhood business.

The owner is going after a small, woman owned bakery, half way across the country because of the word “batter”. Ridiculous. Don’t support this kind of person who would try and tear down another small business in this economy. You have no overlapping clients but I guess you do have a fragile ego and some kind of self importance. You must have googled “batter” and are now going after every small business with that word in its name? How silly. Spend more time on baking.

Rumor has it I need to go back for a cookie... but I probably won't be going back for a biscuit. The biscuit with honey butter was fine, not remarkable (the honey butter was what made it). The staff honestly just seemed annoyed that they had to help me. The setup is a little weird due to Covid, which I get, but they made no effort to engage and seemed annoyed to help me. for

Came across a batter stand at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market and reluctantly got the honey sesame cooking because the girl said it was really good. WOW WAS SHE RIGHT! This was one of the best cookies I've ever had! I'm usually a chocolate chip cookie girl myself, but the honey sesame cooking blew the chocolate chip cookie out of the water. I even had the sesame cookie when it was a day old and it was still so soft and chewy. I completely regret not getting more. I wish it weren't such a far drive because I would be there every week getting cookies and other goodies.

Whenever I'm on Polk, I try to swing by here. Their lavender cookies are my absolute favorite. They also sell 'ends,' which are broken-off cookies for a bargain price! Awesome way to enjoy the baked goods, but not over-spend.

Their baked goods are delicious. The biscuits and scones (lemon currant) are my favorite and the best part is you can buy them pre-made to take home and bake yourself!
Textures are always on point, and flavor wise it's subtle but tasty.
I'm not a big coffee drinker but love the oatmilk lattes here - creamy and tasty and strong!
Finally - the veggie breakfast sando on a biscuit is so good. Recommend!

SO obsessed with this bakery. I frequent the ferry building farmers market 2-3 times a month and came across their stand randomly on my way out. I was craving cookies and decided to try a bag of their whole wheat chocolate chip cookies. They were the best cookies I've ever had. So soft and chocolatey, but not too sweet or overindulgent. I'm not a huge fan of pastries/desserts, but I've become hooked on their treats. I've also tried their scones and make sure to try a different package of cookies every time at the market. This location is also open right now and has a wider variety

OMG. Amongst the abundant bakeries, cookies shops and really good bakeries in SF, I can definitely say that Batter Bakery makes my favorite brownies and cookies! I'm usually not too big a fan of cookies and brownies, since they usually gear towards being too sweet for my taste, but the treats here give off a strong, rich chocolate tone that make them exceptionally good!
My friend got them delivered for Valentines day, and she was kind enough to share with me. They came in a cute little cardboard box with a piece of yarn wrapped around them. We opened up the boxes and these sweets instantly

Had the PB chocolate, triple chocolate espresso, and cherry and bourbon. All were great flavor profiles and the right crunch-moist ratio.
They also have a stamp loyalty card as well as super friendly service.
There's limited seating, but the set up is cute. I especially liked how you can see into their baking area.
I want to come back to try their coffee and enjoy more cookies :)

Overnight oats are fresh and filling. Not at all sweet, which is fine by me, though a few more dates would have been nice. I added fresh blueberries and banana when I got home per suggestion... just right.
They also make tasty granola bars- recommend the fig and seed version for a snack with just the right amount of crunch/chew, salty/sweet.
Lattes are ok. Pretty good option for breakfast to-go.

The cake was beautiful and very good, but not the best I've ever had (I work in a big office that loves celebrating birthdays/any excuse for cake, so I have tried a lot of cakes). The SHORTBREAD COOKIES on the other hand... out of this world. They are to die for and I've gone back just for those shortbread cookies.
The cake was easy to order and was ready in time! They decorated it really nicely, too.

This review is for a delivery I received on Valentines Day from this Batter Bakery location. Since Doughbies closed I haven't been able to get cookies on demand until a surprise cookie box was sent to my office. My coworkers and I devoured the variety of delicious shortbread cookies including honey, lavender, and hazelnut.
The star of the batch was the "Better than Flowers" lavender cookies which everyone loved. A coworker just asked me for the name of the bakery selling the lavender cookies almost two months later (Hello G if you're reading this).

I went around noon on a Saturday for a late breakfast. They were sold out of breakfast sandwiches, so might want to go earlier if that's what you're looking for.
I had the yogurt bowl with granola and pear. It was quite good. Overall I liked this place and will go back. It is a tad pricier than what I'd prefer but portions are decent so I'm not complaining.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes at Batter Bakery to make my birthday extra special. I even tried out some of the baked goods beforehand to see if they were any good. The broccoli cheddar scone and short bread cookies were pretty good, so I had high hopes.
I gave Batter 3 stars because of the difficulties I had with them. Honestly, this place is overpriced for the size and quality of the goods. Their cupcakes were teeny tiny and dry. The buttercream was a little too thick for my liking. This place has so much unfulfilled potential.
