We got married here last weekend and if I could give them 10 stars I would. The grounds are stunning, the staff is exceptional and professional and I actually had time to eat and enjoy the food and wine. If you're the type of bride who can relax a bit and realize that these people have the experience throwing wonderful weddings and that you can't micromanage everything- this is the place for you. From the list of vendors that Valerie provided I chose Hanna Jeanne for photography- she's amazing, love her, hate photos in general, but I can't even describe how good hers are, we

Update: When we returned home, we enjoyed their Petite Sirah with grilled double lamb chops. The wine paired really well, complimenting the mediterranean flavors in the marinade.
We dropped in for wine tasting and brought a picnic lunch to enjoy under their arbor. Despite the fact that they were setting up their courtyard for a wedding, the winemaker and his staff were friendly and informative. Be careful, as it was quite easy to leave with two cases of wine. :-)

My new husband and I got married at Chatom/School Street Winery on Saturday, 5/1/21. The entire experience, from our first venue tour, to planning the wedding, to the actual day, was made enjoyable and easy thanks to Matt, Valerie, and Sewell. The winery has absolutely beautiful grounds which were the perfect backdrop for our pictures, ceremony, and reception. Matt and Val were the contacts for the wedding planning process and they were always more than helpful, efficient, and quick to assist me in any way they could. Sewell and his team catered a delicious dinner for us that included passed appetizers

We have been numbers for a 3 years now and overall we have very good experiences here. A couple less than perfect visits depending on your server or how busy they are but most of the time its all good. We enjoy both the wines and prices which are very affordable compared to most other regions in CA. We usually prefer the sister winery wines called School Street. You get to taste a lot of wines on their tasting menu, yes pours can be a bit light but there are a lot wines to taste and they are generous with revisiting. The cases sales they have now and then are great deals we came over Valentines

There are two labels at this winery: Schoolhouse and Chatom. The wine styles are similar but do have different tastes so something for everyone. We enjoyed the wines. What was lacking was training for the (sole) tasting room staff. While friendly, she was new to the role and had not even tasted the wines she was serving. She could not provide any insight into the wines. Very small pours making it hard to evaluate the wines.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and were the only folks here! Dogs were allowed inside the tasting room and outside on the patio. 2 lists for tastings and about 8 tastes per list, $10 fee unless you buy a bottle. Well we bought 4 bottles! Enjoyed the chardonnay on the patio with our packed lunch and it was beautiful! Nice 3 table shaded area covered in vines and flowers around. Looks like they had a large grass area for weddings/events. 1 thing we didn't see were any yard games in case that's what you like to do. I'd come here again in Murphys for sure!

How is their wine? Wouldn't know.
How is their service? Horrible.
My wife and I were recommended here from another local winery. We came to Murphy's to specifically taste and buy some great wine. We walked in and I stood at the counter trying to make eye contact with the 2 guys on the opposite side of the counter. To me, they gave this "better than you" attitude. Maybe they are used to having tourist who are uneducated in wine and sick of serving them, I don't know. But that wasn't us. After talking to every other patron but me and being ignored for 10 min, we

The owner served us while we stopped in on a wine tour. Let me just tell you- Even if you're not a wine connoisseur, Chatom is worth the stop simply for the bread! The owner bakes fresh bread for his wine tasters, and it's to DIE for.
They have two well rounded and rather extensive tasting lists to choose from, and the grounds are beautiful.
If you're in the area, Make sure you add Chatom to your list of stops- you won't regret it!
