Services
Wine, gold, history, and heritage are all parts of the rich and colorful tradition that is Stevenot Winery. Located in downtown Murphys and in Vallecito, in the heart of the Sierra Foothills of Calaveras County, Stevenot's beginnings hark back long before their first release of wine in 1978. The first Stevenots came to the area during the great Gold Rush of the mid 1800's.
Stevenot Winery has two of the coziest Wine Tasting Rooms in Murphys and the other at the winery in Vallecito. Come in and enjoy a full tasting or a glass of wine and experience a fun, cultural visit. Sip your way through tasty, refreshing white wines including a very popular Reserva Chardonnay, or enjoy our reds including an original Spanish Tempranillo.

A lovely stop on our way to a weekend in Arnold. Stevenot has a great lineup of wines. We started with a couple of whites, a rose and on to the reds. We really liked their Barbera and their red blend. Couldn't believe how reasonably priced their wine club is, $20 dollars per bottle, which retail for around $30. Tasting is $15 per person which is refunded with a bottle purchase. A beautiful rustic setting adds to the tasting experience at this family-run establishment. A must-stop in Vallecito!

What a great winery and tasting experience! This is a lovely property with seating both indoors and out. You can make a reservation online which is a good idea as this place seems to be very popular.
We sat inside as it was very hot yesterday when we visited. We had the distinct pleasure of having Florence as our wine expert. She really elevated our whole experience. She definitely knows her stuff when it comes to the wines and she is a lot of fun as well.

We wanted to find a new winery in this area so we consulted Yelp for suggestions and found this winery to be the closest to where we were staying and with excellent reviews, albeit few reviews. So we went to check it out. I can say that we sampled a lot of wine, bought a lot of wine, and joined the club.
What's great here? The wine, for me, obviously, but that's subjective so I'm not going to review the wine itself.
The tasting patio is wonderful. We didn't check out the inside, but with a patio like this and great weather, why even go inside? There were two tasting attendants

We were pleasantly surprised by this place! We got 7 tastings (decent-sized pours) and really liked them all! Tasting fee is $10 but is waived with wine purchase. The pourer was very friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and appreciative of our business. It was easy to reserve the tasting online, although it was pending for a few hours until they confirm it. You can also purchase a small charcuterie plate in advance to guarantee its availability. The patio was suuuper cute and dog friendly. There are two cats on-site that may make an appearance. The patio can accommodate probably 10 parties, although

We were looking for an open winery on a Weds (not an easy task in Murphys given most places are only open Th-M). We loved the garden patio setting and were actually surprisingly impressed with the wines! The Chardonnay was especially delish (given I am not usually a chard person) but really all the wines were great. If we ever get out dream cabin in Arnold we will certainly become members. Highly recommend if you are in the area!
