Have you ever been walking the streets of Manitou Springs, and wonder how 'The Springs' got its name? Long before the Mona Lisa, native tribes who inhabited the area considered mineral water the breath of the Great Spirit "Manitou." In the early 1890s, the town's mineral springs and clean mountain air established the area as a health resort.

The Mona Lisa has been a local experience since I can remember. Great food and a great atmosphere. Wait staff was polite and great. My wife and I enjoyed out night out and had more food than we could eat. We enjoyed the 4 course meal, starting with delicious salads, then a spicy cheese fondue, traditional entree with chicken, steak, and fish; we ended our meal with a milk chocolate fondue to die for. Fun and romantic. Locally and family owned. Will be back. Forgot to take photos too busy eating!

Been coming here once a year since 2010 and twice a year since 2014. It's our place for our anniversary in April and our New Year's Eve choice. In the 15 times we have been here, there has never been a bad experience with a host, server, food or our reservation! You can't say that about many places.

Another wonderful evening with friends here. This evening we were at a slightly smaller table than we have been sat at in the past with a group of 6 but they made it work and we had an enjoyable evening. We tend to go with the Fontina cheese which is excellent but our friends with with the new world cheeses and still enjoyed them a ton. We tend to each get a different selection and try one another's which is a great way to open up to different selections. We paired the Fontina with The Seeker Riesling and it was perfect.

Service, food, atmosphere were excellent. Our server had excellent wine pairings for each course. They had top notch gluten free alternatives for both the cheese and meal. The fresh baked gluten free bread is sources from a local scratch kitchen and is probably the best we've had. The autumn special that is going on right night is definitely a must try.
We will be making the 3hr drive back down here again just to visit this location.

PROS:
Our waitress, Jasmine, was fantastic. She has a delightful personality, was super helpful with the menu, and was just generally a great person to chat with. Oh and all the art is various versions of the Mona Lisa and that was kinda funnay.
The food is good and the cuts of meat and fish are high quality.
CONS:
However, that's pretty much where all the good news ends. The amount of food in the entrees is atrocious. It all fit on a side plate... Even then, it's mostly potatoes and bread, then (literally) one bite of steak and salmon. For three people we spent over $275 and we

Fondue but different. First off, the building itself is so unique. It's very old and when you walk inside, it feels like you're walking into a well-kept 1800's home. Dim lighting, perfect for a romantic dinner or relaxing evening with friends and family. I've been here twice for different occasions and both times we had excellent service and food.
The food - they regularly update their menu to include seasonal faire and the main course you actually grill instead of fondue, which I wasn't expecting the first time but ended up really unique and fun! You still cook

Very quaint location. The ambience was nice and the service was great. Our only issues were that there was a draft upstairs and the first batch of cheese fondue was Luke warm. They were very apologetic and replaced it with a warmer batch. It still should be hotter. All the flavors were wonderful. We ate almost everything, which was a lot.

We have been to Mona Lisa many times now--it is a special treat! Absolutely delicious with incredible service. They recently started serving their Autumn menu which is absolutely INCREDIBLE-especially the cheese fondue course. Highly recommend Mona Lisa.
In the summer months, get to Manitou Springs EARLY to find parking! It can be a mad house.

Such a unique experience! I loved the cheese (love dipping the bread) and chocolate fondue (I loved the chocolate brownies). However, I'd say that the main dish was average. Due to the menu being overwhelming, my group wasn't quite sure what meats we were eating the whole time. Personally, the meats weren't as appealing for me as it lacked flavor. However, I did enjoy the cheese and dessert!
Also, the balcony view is amazing!! I would definitely recommend booking the balcony if you choose to eat here.

The cheese fondue was terrible. It was grainy and tastes like the alcohol was poured straight into it. We spent $150.00 plus a tip for 2 salads, terrible fondue, and picture is the full main course for 2. The dessert was good and plenty but will not go back do not recommend. The quality needs to improve to be considered fine dining. The portion was a bite of each meat. It was sad and not a good way to spend my birthday or my money
The salad was good..

First time visiting. It was our anniversary. Our reservation we made through the website was nonexistent. Even though I received two reminder emails and a text. They still got us taken care of and seated within 5 minutes. Waiter was friendly and professional. He explained our options and took our order. When he brought my ice tea out, he also brought out an assortment of sugars. I didn't ask for sugar, but always drink sweet tea. This was actually the first time I didn't have to ask, and at most places they bring out the wrong sugar. The meal was very fulfilling and appetizing. I wish the waiter

Incredible food. So much better than a melting pot chain. Rebekka was absolutely the best waitress we have had at any restaurant period. My family just loved her attitude and joy she brought to our dinner for Father's Day weekend. If you are ready for a great meal and the best service. Request rebekka. She was incredible. We will be back thanks to her and the quality of food!

We loved our experience at the Mona Lisa! We got the four course meal for two and were not disappointed with the selection. We ordered a few of their summer options. Their strawberry spinach time was divine! If you are looking for a special event kind of dinner, this place is perfect- it has the ambiance, the food, and the location!
