For over 40 years this family-owned German Restaurant on the south side of Colorado Springs has served over a million happy customers. The restaurant invites guests to dine in one of its several rooms decorated with artifacts from Europe. With strolling musicians on Friday and Saturday nights, three blazing fireplaces in winter, and an authentic "Biergarten" in summer, you are sure to enter into another world as a guest at Edelweiss.
The authentic menu with a variety of Old World German dishes includes Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and Sauerbraten, with newer-age items such as Flammekuchen and Maultaschen. For those not so adventurous palates Edelweiss offers other Continental fare such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Tournedos, or Fresh Salmon Filet.

Services
Originally from the Heidelberg region of Germany Helga Schnakenberg has been a part of the Edelweiss family since 1969. Using only the best fresh ingredients, the menu she has created is an invitation to visit Germany and taste all it has to to offer. Helga, her husband Gary, and their son Dieter will welcome you and make you feel at home.
In 1901 an attractive two room schoolhouse was erected in the Colorado Springs suburb of Ivywild. Thomas McLaren, the architect, was asked to draw up plans for a two room structure that would seat 100 pupils. The building contract, given to Mr. Linn Atkinson, called for the latest innovation "a building that would be ventilated by the Dixon system and that would be heated by a furnace."
We are located about 5 minutes south of downtown between South Tejon and Nevada on Ramona Avenue. Take 115 North and pass over Circle/Lake Ave. At the 3rd stoplight after Circle you will take a left turn, at the Ivywild Drugstore, onto Ramona Avenue. We will be about a half block up on the right. Take Highway 24 or Cimarron East to I-25 and go south.
Our newly remodeled building is the perfect place to hold your next event. We can accommodate groups from 20 to 120 with the patio available in the summer. For groups over 30 we ask that the menu be limited to 4-5 items. We will then print a customized menu for your guests to order from the day of the event.
If you like our restaurant, the greatest compliment you could pay us is to send your family and friends to dine with us. We promise to treat them as you would! Whether looking for an anniversary gift, an employee or boss gift, something to send in a thank you card, Edelweiss Gift Certificates make the perfect gift.

We attended on the 1st of February, on a snowy night to celebrate my mother's birthday. We walked in and I was very concerned about the depending snow and the sloped entry. The dessert cases were full and absolute lovely. We were quickly sat in prime seating next to the fireplace, and we were immediately welcomed by our server. We ordered drinks and waited for our party. When half the party had arrived we ordered a charcuterie board that was lovely $17, and when the second half arrived we ordered the baked brie. This is a rough time of the year to have fresh fruit so even slightly blemished or

We enjoyed a great dinner at Edelweiss. We visited on a Saturday evening and was seat very quickly. The atmosphere is awesome and the building is completely decorated in a German theme. The food was perfectly prepared and the draft beer was nice and cold. The place do get very busy but they have plenty of table seating in their bar area downstairs.

First time visit. Used to love a different Edelweiss where I'm from, so I was eager to try it. I'm not German, but I love the food. So far, this is the best I've had. The Brie En Croute is a must. My Rouladen was excellent. The Schnitzel is delicious as well. Of course you can't eat German food without German beer! Great selection! Outstanding service as well. Can't wait to go back!

Great place with fun vibes, delicious German cuisine and delectable desserts. My husband and I happened upon here on a Saturday night. The staff was very accommodating and the service was attentive. We enjoyed the festive feel of the live accordion music. The desserts were in constant demand, made by an in house pastry chef. The sauerkraut was especially good; mellow and nutty, with a nice tang.

We had dinner on Sunday for the first time with our visitors. Escargot was excellent. Pork knuckle meat was a little porky and the skin was tough. Overall dinning experience is fine. Nice atmosphere and good service. Do an early order or reserve your desserts as they go fast. We had the swans which reminded us of childhood days. Cream filling was good but the puff pastry was tough.

Not just a cuisine but an amazing dinning experience. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Colorado springs to keep Edelweiss in their list of "To-Do". We are so glad to have made reservation one month in advance. Food was excellent and definitely try Schnitzel which was delicious and very filling. Make sure to try German Beer, plenty of options and even my wife who is not a fan of beer loved the German lager. Finally , do keep some place for dessert. The Ambience , Food ,Beer, Live music makes this place an unforgettable dining experience.
