I had never been to the Bean Bandit before; but my good friend Marv elocuted to me the outline of yarns spun into legends which have accumulated over the years at this Colorado Springs landmark. The authentic Mexican/Southwest ambience was only excelled by the food we were served; and Marv pointed out how it was always that good. I love Mexican cuisine, but very few places stand out to me like the Bean Bandit. A world-class lunch with a 5-Star Friend; it really doesn't get better than that.

This is the MOST HORRIBLE tasting food I ever had in my life!!! The rice is over cooked(it feels like stew rice- very Soggy) the chicken has absolutely NO FLAVOR it takes like RAW boiled chicken. They give you an ice cream scoop of guacamole. The frozen margaritas taste like Slushies with no alcohol. Taco Star, TacoBell McDonald’s Wendy’s taste way better than Bean Bandit!! I fell like I just wasted my money! The only reason they get A Star is because the environment looks very nice and the waitress/ers are great. Other than that I don’t know how they still open since 1966. If you enjoy bland

The place itself is nice. The gentleman that seated us didn't really seem to care for our business. Just got the vibe he wanted his shift over. Gave us one piece of paper for the two of us with barely part of there menu not even the appetizers section was included. I ordered the nachos supreme which some how turned into taquitos being ordered. The waiter did notice this and said they were fixing it already. Waited another 7 minutes to be served chips from a bag with cheese that was barely warm and looked and tasted as if it was literally from a jar you buy from the store that was just thrown in

Not only is the food extremely delicious but I love how Derrick has carried on the tradition that his sweet mom Marge used to do and that is walking around the restaurant and having conversation with the… diners. Makes me feel extra special being recognized and made to feel comfortable. Everyone is sweet and friendly. 🥰 We’ve come here for years and will continue to come back.

I’ve know the Vasquez family for over 34 years. I grew up with the Vasquez boys. I’ve been enjoying their incredible, authentic, amazing Mexican cuisine all these years. My kids are now big fans of Bean Bandit and I’ve recommended them to countless friends, family, and business associates. Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed and make sure you order some Sopapillas. The absolute best in town!

This place was horrible. The food was barley edible. The queso tastes like the cheese you get from the gas station with tomatoes thrown on. The beans were sams club beans. We listened to a family that only took one bite of the food. They spoke to the manager he he said they had to pay. I saw their plates it didn't look touched. The manager threanted to call the cops. The rice tasted like rice a roni with a salt dumped in. The saucy was tomato paste.
