Dr. Phansalkar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (ABPN) & Diplomate of American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM). He is the Medical Director of New England Counseling Center. After his psychiatry training at Cork University in Ireland, he completed his residency training in Psychiatry from Louisiana State University (LSU) at Shreveport.
Any paperwork from your previous psychiatrist or previous psychiatric hospital (such as discharge papers etc.) Patients are charged $50.00 for missed appointments unless the appointment was cancelled 24 hours or more in advance. Insurance will not pay a missed appointment charge for you, so please make every effort to inform us 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.

If I could give no stars I would. Don’t waste your time know one knows what they are doing. Waited 2 months for an appointment. Spend 2 hours for an intake was told I had to wait to get any medication due to them needing to have my records from the previous place I was. It’s now been two months and they have not even attempted to get the records from the other doctor. After calling and going numerous times to the office. Finally was able to reach the doctor and she refused to prescribe me any medications. Even though by law after being on the medication for almost 10 years that I should be

After waiting 6 weeks to get my first appointment, I showed up 15 minutes early today as requested. I filled out the paperwork and sat for 10 minutes until my appointment began (yes, the paperwork only takes 5 minutes). Then, as my appointment time came and passed, I continued to wait. 20 minutes went by. I was finally called in and Dr. Laura… something-or-other said something along the lines of, “Welcome. So this is your first time here. You came early for paperwork? It’s a little past your start time. Sorry. So why are you here? Depression? Anxiety?” I got up and left

I have been going to Dr P for many year. He is the best. He gives me a voice instead of telling me what he wants me to do by asking, listening and offering options. He seems to genuinely care about my whole health. I never feel rushed or pressured. He is accessible by phone between office visits if needed.
The office staff has always been friendly and helpful. Whether calling or in person. Yes it is not same person each time, well one or two have been same over the years. Would recommend Dr P and his office.

I recommend this counseling center to anyone.
I have been going here for almost two years.
Lisa is an amazing therapist, and has helped me work through so much giving me clarity. She taught me different tools and tactics to cope and make it through my day having anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
Also, the office staff are also exceptional. They are empathetic, understanding, accommodating and most importantly not judgmental.

Had nothing but great experience with front desk help and doctors help when I ran out of insurance they were able to cover me and write me Bridge Scripts when I thought I was going to be screwed without any issue.. Doctor P has been nothing but helpful and attentive when I'm there for every appointment knows who I am my details and always asks stuff about relevant issues that have been going on recently.... I can't say enough really like these guys I'm happy that I'm a patient there

GOD AWFUL practice! I see a new face nearly every single month. RED FLAG! And the front desk staff are never welcoming or friendly. Never know what they are doing. They messed up my appointment at least 4/5 times which resulted in me not being seen. Also, I asked to speak to a manager on several occasions in regards to a billing issue and keep getting told I’ll receive a call back. Never did. It’s been over a month and a half! Not to mention one time I over heard one of the front staff people saying how she was looking for a new job and complaining about her time there when checking in. How

HATE THIS PLACE! Terrible front desk staff! They are lazy and have no idea what they are talking about. I had a billing issue that was never dealt with and terrible "therapist". I felt like she wasn't even listening to what I had to say. I spoke to someone at the front desk who I thought was a manager I'm not sure if she was or not but she was no help. I really would like to speak to a REAL manager. I may call back later and formally complain. DO NOT GO HERE!

Been going here for about a year now and it's been overall a very positive experience. I see Emily, one of the nurse practitioners there, and she has been very helpful and knowledgeable about starting me on a new prescription.
The only downside to this place is that some of the front desk staff can be a little rude, but most of them are nice.
