Victor Hugo Vineyards and Winery is one of Paso Robles' most exciting and innovative wineries. Victor Hugo Roberts is the owner/ winemaker of the small family operated vineyard and winery. The family legend has it that he was named after a great uncle and a great grandfather (the man who Anglicized the family name from the French name Robert to Roberts), with no reference to any literary connection.
You must be 21 years of age or older, to order or receive alcoholic beverages from Victor Hugo Winery. A signature of a person 21 years or older must be obtained by the carrier at the time of delivery for all packages containing wine. For this reason, we recommend that you ship to a business address.

The wines are just amazing. Had a tasting and loved everything. The tannins are low and their selection of free cheeses in the room just pairs well with everything. They even had 2 ports quasi and moto. We usually go for the reds but their Viognier was so good that we bought a white for the first time in Paso Robles.

My new favorite winery in Paso! Adelaida used to be what I looked forward to, but now I'll be sure to put this on my list first each time. The tasting was so personable and I felt no pressure to buy the wines, but the prices are too amazing to pass buying a couple. You won't regret setting up a reservation :)

One of the finest wineries out there! A small family winery, with Vic & Leslie Roberts crafting gold medal winners.
Don't be afraid to call them and set an appt for tasting their wonderful wines, as they are busy tending to their winery and will gladly open their tasting room if they are around and know someone is coming.
They are also very reasonably priced compared to others in the area.

This is what we look for. A tasting area inside a working winery with the wine maker and his wife pouring the wines while simultaneously putting together wine club shipments. We really enjoyed the conversation Victor about the wine industry and wine practices and distribution we'll be back to see you great wines continued success.

Some of the finest wine on the Central Coast. Winemaker VIc Roberts, UC Davis grad, could write the book on Central Coast wines, but he's too busy tending his 80 acres of vines and crafting awesome wines. And he's content with his loyal following of wine club members and existing distribution so his winery is sometimes below the radar--and he cares little, if at all about blowing his own horn or seeking publicity. And that's one reason why I am here writing about Roberts and his finely crafted wines.

Wow. Don't let the lack of reviews or pictures stop you from going to this place. (And my apologies, I forgot to talk pictures myself so I have nothing to add here!) Victor Hugo was our last stop for our Paso trip and what a great finish!!!
To start, it's appointment only so be sure to call or email Vic before you want to come by.
To save on overhead, they taste their wines in one of their barrel rooms that's basically a large barn. No seats, nothing fancy, just really good, moderately priced wine!! Victor was in and out during our tasting but his wife was pouring for us

This was a real find for my wife and me. We first tasted Victor's red blend, "The Hunchback, " at the fine Red Raven Restaurant in Williams, Arizona, and loved it. We emailed the winery and asked for an appointment. Leslie answered quickly, and invited us over the next morning. We very much enjoyed visiting with her and Victor (Yes, his name is truly Victor Hugo Roberts).
The array of wines is excellent! Rich and supple reds. Fragrant and tasty viognier, and each one very reasonably priced.
We drove home with a case + and a club membership.
Thank you, Victor and Leslie!

Great wines. You need an appointment, so that weeds out the majority of the imbeciles who roll up in a limo and fall out while looking for the next glass of wine. Don't let the low number of reviews fool you. This is a place where folks with an adult palate can find some really good stuff in a bottle.
Victor's line up of wines is very impressive. All of them are from his vines on his property. He has been in the wine industry of Paso for over 33 years. He welcomes each guest with gusto and his story - which is a story of building a winery.
We tasted his whole line and found all

Great wines! Laid back low key establishment. Not a huge tasting room but it's in a cool barn where they store the barrels. You have to call in advance to make sure they will be around. If you leave a message they will call you back.
This was our fourth winery of the day. We enjoyed their wines here and at August Ridge the best.If you want to get married at a winery or just have an awesome scenic lunch I suggest STILL WATER not too far from here.
