Founded in 2003, Line Shack Winery was the realization of over two decades of Balentine family winemaking experience. With this venture, owner/winemaker team Bob and Daphne Balentine set out to produce affordable, world-class wines from California's Central Coast, particularly from the new San Antonio Valley AVA in Southern Monterey County.

In the Old West, before the days of ATVs and Helicopters, when Cowboys still worked cattle a horseback, the term "Line Shack" referred to a small cabin built on the open range where cowboys could take shelter from natures wrath while working away from their home ranch. Our "Line Shack" was discovered in 1989 when our family acquired a small ranch in Chualar Canyon, Monterey County, California.
Your membership provides the opportunity to experience a selection of Line Shack and 831 Wines delivered to your door three times a year. There is no fee to join and members receive discounted prices on all wine purchases. In addition to standard club shipments, members receive early access to new releases, reserve wines and special library offers.

Loved this place! We came on a Wednesday after all the other tasting rooms were closed. Bob was open late and he was the best! We love the petite Syrah and he had plenty of fun snacks to help clear our palette, something tasting rooms rarely do anymore. I brought my family visiting from Maine and Bob took so much time to explain the lay of the land. Can’t wait to go back!
