We would love to cater to you at your next event. We offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to businesses and individuals located in Oakland. We at Cafe 15 make everything from scratch, down to the aioli in our crazy popular fried chicken sandwich. But what sets us apart from other caters is that we cater to parties that want rich comfort food AND healthy vegetable forward options too.
We do both AND we do both well. Our catering manager will also work with you to customize your event so all your guests are happy and satisfied. We also believe in the importance of earth-friendly, locally sourced food. So, we offer Mary's natural chicken, grass-fed beef, wild caught fish, cage free eggs, local Acme bread, organic greens, and whenever possible organic fruit and vegetables.

Let me tell you... I am an omnivore meat eater to my coreeeeee, but this restaurant is one of the FEW places that have vegetarian options that I enjoy. It's a bonus that the food is healthy, but I really enjoy the taste even more :) The butternutsquash dorado is delicious and filling. I am also a fan of their mushroom carnitas protein bowl. The sauces and toppings really take everything to the next level, and I don't even realize there is no meat!
I highly recommend this quality food spot ran by an incredibly loving family!

Cafe 15 is my favorite cafe in Oakland. The food is always fresh, nutritious and delicious. The soups and salads are wonderful. The staff are helpful and courteous. Breakfast is lovely too. The location is very convenient to the State Building where I work. Thanks for so many healthy and tasty options.

Excellent meal. The buddha bowl has some chilled elements and some warm elements. The sweet potato is delicious. The cod is crispy on the outside and moist inside. It's served with edamame and quinoa and squash. I would eat here again. The only thing that I suggest is to get your food to go because the dining room is very small.

Finally had a chance to visit the place & I ordered the fish & chips meal. I received 3 pieces of fish (cod) & a generous portion of chips (nicely seasoned potato wedges really). The spicy, vinegary slaw was ok, but I didn't have a reason to hate it either. Cost with tax: $17.
Overall, a generous helping of food for the money. But, I'll try something else next time.

Order delivery here via Caviar and this was the worst takeout I have ever received.
The buddha bowl came ice-cold, the veggies were close to raw on top of being fridge temperature, very little quinoa, the salad dressing of the arugula salad was missing (leaving a heap of dry arugula with little topping for $10+tax) and the "fries" I ordered came as thick & cold potato wedges! That is just unacceptable to order food for over $40 and receive that kind of quality.
I will never, ever order from this place again.
Had I had not been so busy at work-relying on food delivery for lunch

This review is for takeout via their online ordering platform, caviar.
I placed an order from my office (5 min walk away) for a small salad with their fried chicken, a large salad with fried chicken and a chicken sandwich with fries and two drinks. The email confirmation said it would be ready by 12:15pm so I showed up at that time. The order was not ready and they said that it would not be ready until 12:30pm which is what they had from caviar. I asked if they could expedite the order and they gave me a hard no. Since I already paid almost $60 for lunch, I had no choice but to wait. 12:30pm

Conveniently located right outside the back entrance of the Elihu M Harris State Office Building, came here during lunch hour. There's a few small tables inside and outside, lots of people ordering to go. We had the Fried Chicken Sandwich served with citrus cabbage slaw and Cafe 15 Burger with a side order of sweet potato fries. Everything was cooked perfectly, tasty, although could have used just a pinch more seasoning. Staff was all very friendly and establishment was cute and clean. Be sure to check Facebook for daily specials not on the regular menu!

Cafe 15 is my favorite lunch stop in downtown Oakland! My coworkers originally told me about it, and we order from them probably once a week or more. The owner is a total sweetheart, remembers our names, our favorites, and is very helpful and attentive.
My personal favorites are the Buddha Bowl, the Cafe 15 wrap with fried chicken, and the Mushroom Broth (when they have it!). They update their menu daily (easy to find on their Facebook page) but have staples as well.
The cafe itself is super cute and quaint, and located in a easy-to-find place. I will continue going to Cafe 15 indefinitely

This place is too expensive and the portion of the chicken burger is not worth the price. I think at best that burger should cost 6 or 7 dollars. I have a feeling that they must be paying crazy Amounts of money on their over head? There was two people who took orders there at the same time and not many customers maybe that's why? Anyways their food might be okay for you if you are a fat cat working for the government but for the rest of us the people going to try use their services don't go here. It's sad. If you go don't tip they don't give you any actual waitress service

Got lucky stumbling into this place on my way to Flax. It's a delicious menu filled with healthy food in a cute and chill atmosphere.
I ordered the "Best Brussels Sprouts Ever," and they really were. I added chicken and it was perfectly cooked. Also ordered the wedge fries and veggie soup for the little, and though she was being picky I thought they were delicious. Also fair prices.

Well this was my 1st time coming here and off top I knew I should've went somewhere else. The guy at the counter wasn't to welcoming and came off super rude and the prices for their food is out of line 15 for a chicken sandwich that's a Bake Sale Betty knock off smh Bake sale didn't charge that much smh it was no drink or sides included. The sandwich was ok and most definitely not worth that price. This is my 1st and last visit with this place smh.

I am SO disappointed in this place! The owner has changed and that is the problem. We will not be coming back here again.
The good:
Location location...close to our office.
Food comes out fast.
The bad:
Small space; packed tables and chairs with hardly enough room to breathe.
Food lacks flavor. We used hot sauce and salt to make it edible.
The ugly:
Owner with attitude
Overpriced (my friend's world smallest burger was $14. The burger was smaller than the bun)
Super greasy fries; I think she recycles the oil or something......
Breakfast burrito was mostly potatoes and sour cream. I

Really yummy food, good place to get lunch.
Doesn't get four stars because (1) it's expensive for what it is. A sandwich that costs that much should come with the fries. And (2) it takes a long time. It's not the fault of the staff, they are working hard and fast. It's because they have a teeny tiny kitchen to work with. Just, be aware that your food will take a little time. Especially because...
...the smart people order ahead online and come pick it up. Which we did the next day. The food here is really good and I highly recommend it as a lunch option. Just, order ahead

Just walked out empty handed. The place was referred by a colleague. When I entered, there was one person at the counter placing her order and I should have been next. Unfortunately for me, what appeared to be a regular customer came in behind me. Instead of taking my order after the woman in front of me was done, the young lady working the register looked past me, not acknowledging me at all and asked the woman behind me what she'd like to order. I felt completely disrespected! I took my money a few doors down, received great service and a delicious breakfast sandwich. I will never visit this

Tl;DR: Fried chicken sandwich is much better than Bakesale Betty.
------------------
The fried chicken sandwich here garners a lot of well deserved attention.
It comes with lemon aioli and a side of slaw and though it typically comes on a torpedo roll, in this pic I took it was on a regular bun (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cafe-15-oakland-3?select=tR01bRW5zTr5s-P3IXZzAg). Not sure if it's inflation or rents, but a couple years ago this was $8-9, but now it's $13 making it less of an "everyday lunch" kind of thing.
That said, they do it right with a nicely fried and

Yet another organic and sustainable cafe with high end prices. I saw a few items like the salads were labeled organic but not all of the menu so not sure if everything is organic but with the prices so high you would think everything was organic. They scream sustainability though down to the plastic bag, utensils, to go containers which is a great thing to see!
I got the fried chicken salad with cole slaw for $12.95 and it was just ok. The chicken was a nice portion but it was lacking in seasoning and flavor. It tasted like a regular chicken sandwhich that you can get at any restaurant. Maybe

I was looking for brunch in the Oakland area after hiking in Muir Woods. The other places I had been Yelp stalking are closed on Mondays... #rude.
I came across this place which is literally right off the freeway. Parking is a little sketchy (I'm from Honolulu).
The menu looked amazing! And as I said I'm visiting from HNL so the prices are super reasonable compared to what I'm used to paying for local, organic, sustainable.
We settled on the fried chicken sandwich (we had to know if it was truly better than Bakesale Betty). And the Cafe 15 Salad with a large order of handcut

I finally tried their breakfast sandwich. This review is solely based on the breakfast sandwich I had. The eggs are scrambled with gruyere cheese and for more $, I went for the meat selection: chose fennel sausage. It was huge portion. It looked like a big burger.
It's a sausage patty. Not links. Looks like home-made ground sausage with fennel seeds shaped into a large thick patty. I almost thought they had my order wrong because it look so much like ground beef burger with scrambled eggs lol. I felt like taking a nap after eating the breakfast sandwich lol. Meh. I didn't really like

The food is very good here, so far I've tried the Cafe 15 salad, fried chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and pasta. My favorites are the onion rings and french fries.
Down side is there isn't much seating and if you don't get there before the lunch crowd you'll have to get your food to go. They have a nice selection of drinks and teas.
The game plan is to try everything on the menu.
