An Argentine cafe right here in the Bay. Part bakery, part chocolateria, yerba mate dispensary, coffee shop and cafe complete with fun monthly events. Plus, we have an in-store tienda packed with local and imported goods. Good lord, we even have a llama! Yes, we've got some Oakland pride going. That's why we use brethren local suppliers whenever possible and participate in and support local causes that are close to our hearts.

I got the chai tea and it was very gritty and sweet. They definitely used powdered mixes. My partner got ice americano and that was okay. The bathroom is "for employee" if you want to use to bathroom go check out mixt. No WiFi here btw.

Went there last Sunday, right before closing. We had the vegan empanadas. They dough was flaky and the innards savory. After seeing the dessert case, we will be back to try them.

I am obsessed! Update: I'm still obsessed. I'm still an addict. I stop by regularly for my fix. My favorite alfajor is the snickerdoodle alfajor. It foes well with chia. The snickerdoodle alfajor is out of this world. The vibe is intimate too. I like coming by, working on some projects or reading a book. It's a cute shop to meet with up with friends.

Some good empanadas, others are not. Good cookies and sweets. Would not recommend their coffee- it's a bit on a dark roast side and burnt, also milk is super hot and burnt as well

I stumbled across this cafe. Its super cute with one long table for communal seating and some outdoor seating.

There's a fun wall of products you can buy for some cute Argentinian gifts. I loved the cookies, especially the rose flavored one.

The main product here to try is the Alfajores! I personally always love original but they carry a variety of flavors. They even have some gluten-free ones. Definitely stop by if you're looking for some authentic Alfajores.

They also sell empanadas if you'd like to pair something sweet with something savory.

Some of the best empanadas I've ever had. My favorite is the spicy beef. Also tried their espresso chocolate alfajores, DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

If I show up to grab a coffee at 4:15pm when you close at 5pm don't tell me I can't sit at a table because you're about to close. If you don't want people to sit at a table at 4:15 then close at 4pm.

Orders: 16 Piece Alfajores Box! (Snickerdoodle & Meringue Alfajores Shortbread Cookies)

I had to come all the way out to Nashville to try these beautiful Oakland-based Argentinian cookies!!!! Our sweet friend from STL generously shared these with us during an exciting weekend & they were such yummy, unexpected treat. I loved both the Meringue, which had a really pretty frosting on them, & the Snickerdoodle. Ah, so good! First time having alfajores and they were delicious! I'm a big fan of thumbprint cookies, and these cookies had a very similar flavor profile. They're a bit on the pricier end but very tasty and filling. The fig and membrillo (quince) alfajores were my favorite!

I decided to order delivery for the following: spinach and feta empanada, kale and butternut empanada, truffles (mint), and caramelos de dulce de leche. The food arrived slightly ahead of time, kudos to the restaurant and my delivery person.

I loved the spinach and feta empanada; even after storing it in refrigerator a few days, after I microwaved it, it still tasted yummy, neither too dry nor too soggy. I've been a fan of alfajores for quite some time now. They originate from Spain and are also a popular dessert throughout South America. I know a couple of bakers who bake them locally. What are they exactly? They're wonderful shortbread cookies sandwiched together in dulce de leche (caramel) with coconut. The ones I've tried locally had powdered sugar on top of them. Its my first time ordering from this café and I am definitely coming back. There customer service is amazing, and they gave me an iced decaf americano it was so good. It wasn't so caffeinated compared to the other places where I have gotten americanos from. Also their empanadas are amazing! Will most definitely be coming back to get their iced americano again!

I wrote this review for their empanadas to let my co-workers know about this place and they were sold off it so I'm posting it here:

Size: Great! slightly smaller than my left hand
Filling: Ham and cheese, I had it warmed up and it was perfect temperature for immediate eating, did not burn my mouth at all.
Texture: Sturdy on the edges, very soft in the middle making for easy consumption and handling.

10/10 would buy again, I recommend 2 for a meal or 1 as a snack or addition to a meal.

The café also sells chocolates, shortbread cookie sandwiches (alfajores), and several coffee drinks

I've stopped into this place several times, usually for some amazing alfadores. I recently popped in for a quick lunch break and finally had a chance to try the empanadas. I wasn't sure how many to order and the very friendly person working told me that 1 is a snack, 2 is a meal, and 3 is for when you're really hungover and need extra haha. I LOVE this place! This is my local neighborhood cafe that I've been going to for the last 2 years now.

This is an Argentinian owned cafe so they serve empanadas, alfajores, Argentinian hot chocolate, and yerba mate -- aside from your typical cafe drinks. Moreover, they have a section of knick-knacks and hand made goodies from Argentina like cards, yerba mate equipment, and art.

My favorite thing here are the empanadas. They are DELICIOUS. All the veggie one are yummy and my other favorites are the breakfast and ham + cheese. Also the service is warm and friendly every time.

I am Argentinian and it can be difficult to find Argentine restaurants and businesses. So, I was juiced to have found out about this place. The service was friendly & the overall vibe was nice. I wish I could come here to study, but you know... COVID.

My sister and I came here today and we bought: Mate, a gourd($18) with a metal bombilla($8), 16 alfajores ($26), and 4 truffles. Our total came out to around $88. (We didn't ask for a receipt)

First impression: cute little cafe in the uptown, though the bakeries didn't seem to look any different than what I could've gotten from Safeway.
But I was wrong! We bought 24 and got almost all the flavors they had. It was so delicious! Freshly baked.
My favorite must be the white chocolate, pumpkin, ginger lemon... they're all unique in flavors and I would definitely return for some more.

It's Thursday morning and I was looking for something different to have for breakfast or early lunch. I was skimming thru Yelp and my various delivery apps, and noticed Wooden Table Cafe in downtown Oakland. (Caviar was offering a 10% discount to try this place for delivery).

I ordered two Empanadas.....a Breakfast Chorizo and the Jamon y Queso (Ham and Cheese). They arrived in under 30 mins, they were heated and fresh. I came to Wooden Table for the first time today. There are so many flavor choices for the alfajores! I got the original and espresso and both were delicious but the espresso was my favorite. I tried the iced yerba mate brew with rose flavor and added milk. So good! The barista forgot to add coffee to my friend's mocha and while seated outside, my friend mentioned the mocha was watery and not good. We didn't go inside or say anything, but within 5 minutes, the barista came outside with a new mocha and apologized. She stated she thought she forgot to add coffee to the mocha. I had my first Mate experience during their soft opening! Their alfajores are the best! My personal favorite is mint chocolate flavor, which pair perfectly with Mate. I love that they bring the authentic Argentina experience to Oakland!
