We booked the McDonough Family Suite and Annex. The rooms were clean, the service was excellent, and the property's owner was friendly. The hotel's locking mechanism was code-based and checkout was as simple as leaving before the specified time. My goal in booking was to find a hotel nearby and South-West-ish of Reds' Eats in Wiscasset Maine, so I checked a good number of hotels before choosing this one. The price was very competitive for three people plus a dog, I would be inclined to book here again if I had a similar need.
The bathroom featured a full-sized claw footed bathtub, which was luxurious

Admittedly, the neighborhood to one side is a bit edgy (no biggie for this Bronxite) However this place is a lovely oasis. Beautiful historic building, wonderful architectural details and grounds. The innkeeper was super gracious and the house pup is the sweetest thing ever!
We drove north a day early on our vacation to beat Storm Henri and found the comfortable rest we needed along the way here.

Wonderful and romantic. When I called to make my reservation I mentioned that it was for our first wedding anniversary. Billy-Jayne immediately offered to place a bottle of "cheap" champagne in our room. We arrived late from a wedding and enjoyed the not-cheap bottle and took some much appreciated showers. We had a chuckle about the rubber ducky in the bath tub. The soap offerings appeared to be from local goats. The bed was very comfortable compared with our firmish Purple mattress at home. The 10+ ceilings were spectacular. We appreciated that the bathroom had not been renovated since the 60s

The Inn at the Agora is truly a labour of love for Billie and her family. We are lovers of old structures, preservation and history. We live in an older home ourselves. Our room was comfortable and you will sense and appreciate all the care and hospitality that welcomes you as a guest at the Inn at the Agora. Wishing you all success in this brave adventure. We loved our visit!

Our wedding party stayed at the Inn at the Agora and we had our wedding at the Agora Grand Event Center. The inn has great character, the rooms are very comfortable and the staff was very friendly & accommodating, Andrew and Jan are awesome! We had a fantastic weekend here, the outside fire pit was a fun place to kick back and enjoy a few drinks, and the beds sleep easy. Thanks for helping us make our wedding weekend unforgettable!

Are you a fan of the 1973 horror film "The Exorcist"? If so this hotel will be perfect for you! Creaky gothic doors, high ceilings, death-defying steep staircases, walls covered in catholic news paper articles and pictures, and actually being built onto the side of a catholic church! It's not in a nice part of this town (is there one?) and breakfast was a token to be spent at a cafe down the road - not great, not great at all. The bathroom was down the hall but the towels were nice.

I recommend everything thing about the Agora. This is a great looking inn. The pricing is fair, the rooms are Clean. The people are nice. There is a large selection of vending machines, an ice maker, it has a vary large parking lot and a Field out back away from the Roads, Highly recommend For Children party's. So come on Down and check out the Amazing Agora. The place is surrounded buy Restaurants.

I needed to be in Lewiston for business and wanted to find lodging near downtown that wasn't a chain. The Agora looked good so I gave it a try. This is the old rectory for a church. The rooms are nice and there are several common areas to sit and relax in. Port and Sherry are offered in the evening. While the inn does not provide breakfast, they do provide vouchers for two nearby restaurants which is nice. This is a new Inn and is worth your consideration when staying in Lewiston.
