My daughter and I visited Bates College and stayed at the Munroe Inn. Because we were visiting after Columbus Day, we had the place to ourselves - it was incredibly peaceful. We stayed in the Maria Suite which is quite a large room. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom quite spacious, the decor eclectic. There was a parking space next to the inn. A grocery store is within walking distance. Bates is about a 8-10 minute drive away.
Best of all was Olga's fantastic breakfast. We had delicious greek yogurt and homemade jam, a homemade pastry, eggs scrambled with bok choy and fresh

My husband and I wanted a nice getaway for his birthday. We choose the Munroe Inn and we were very pleased with our choice. Olga, the owner of this lovely turn of the century house, was very friendly and accommodating with our 2 night stay. We enjoyed time on the porch reading and the breakfasts Olga prepared were very special. We appreciated her explanation of local foods and her help with finding places to see while in town. This is a lovely Inn with quite a few stained glass windows and wonderful woodwork. The location is nice as it is walking distance to the downtown area with a few restaurants

The Monroe Inn is a charming Victorian Inn, and it’s innkeeper, Olga, does a excellent job of managing it. It is clean and beautifully furnished in period pieces and eclectic artwork. Throughout the property there are multiple seating areas where people can sit and relax. Do not miss her locally sourced and always changing healthy and delicious breakfasts. Olga is happy to offer advice on places to eat and places to see. We will be back again.

Absolutely stunning Inn. The decor is so unique! I could have spent hours just wandering around and looking at everything. I visited the morning of a wedding to get ready with a bride and she couldn't have picked a better place as her last night before her wedding. If I ever had an excuse to come stay here myself, I will in a heartbeat!

The Munroe Inn is no cookie-cutter, Holiday Inn kind of place. It fully reflects the sensibilities of its owner: a mix of artwork and rescued pieces from local shops and Olga's world travels. The artwork is international in scope, containing abstract, primitive, and representative paintings, prints, and sculptures. Breakfast was superb; we started with a Sumac lemonade and moved onto a Honey Mushroom omelet, with the ingredients locally foraged by Olga. Our large bathroom was also hand painted with antique sponge ware. A great stay.

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. She had tea available 24/7 in the breakfast room, made delicious breakfast, and was all-around very nice. The inn itself was beautiful. Very clean, kept up well, and the room was comfortable. The best part was that I could bring my dog! Will stay here again.

That was our first visit to Maine. First we stayed a couple of days in campsite near Acadia national park. That is a great place and a lot of things to do. Our next step was to stay in a hotel and visit some near by towns. To book a hotel there is not a problem but if you want to plunge into the atmosphere of Old England I highly recommend to book Butique hotel. I found one place in a small town and it was gorgeous. Everything there looks like a hundreds years ago. The rooms are clean and amazing. Each room has its own bathroom. The owner is a nice woman. She can tell you what to do around, where

The Monroe Inn is the perfect place to stay for a visit to Lewiston, Maine. The historic bed and breakfast offers comfortable rooms and an endearing owner, Olga, who has put a lot of love into this place. The homemade breakfast was so enjoyable and full of flavor - we could have stayed another night easily. We'll be back again.

We love the Munroe Inn! Gorgeous rooms (our current favorite: The Noble Suite with amazing stained glass windows), comfy beds and furnishings, and fabulous home-made breakfasts. Olga is a superb hostess. We have stayed with her twice and she already treats us like old friends. Can't wait till our next stay to see what improvements our ambitious hostess has put into place this year. So glad the Hilton Garden Inn raised their rates or we might never have found this gem. Book your room there--you won't be disappointed!

When we travel we usually stay in hotels or timeshares. But being from New England and my BF who has never been, I told him we have to stay in a quaint B&B type of location. After searching and searching and calling and calling tons us places I finally found the Munroe Inn, an old Victorian house. Being Labor day weekend I couldn't find a place on the beach where we originally wanted to stay.
But I am so glad we came across this place. The bedrooms are all unique and different. We stayed in the Maria Suite, I believe it was one of the largest suites. The bed was huge and comfortable.
