The Washington Health Care Association (WHCA) is a statewide non-profit organization representing over 400 assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. WHCA's mission is to promote quality long term and post acute health care and services, while serving as an advocate for providers, staff, and the patients and residents for whom they provide care.
Association members provide health and personal care, social support and housing to 25,000 frail, elderly, or disabled Washingtonians each day. About 25,000 employees work for member facilities.

Services
To encourage and promote principles and programs that will provide long term and post acute health care residents with the highest quality medical, nursing and personal care, with the goal of maximizing their individual independence and potential. To encourage providers to employ the highest standards of quality in long term and post acute care services, professionalism, and administration.
Dr. Dikes has been involved in healthcare for many years. He has a BS in Chemistry from Northwest Nazarene University and a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from California College of Podiatric Medicine. He is Board Certified in Podiatric Surgery. He has been the CEO of Sunshine Health Facilities, Inc. in Spokane Valley, WA since 2001.
Assisted Living Quality and Regulatory Executive Advisory Committee meets in person three times each year and as needed via conference call. The committee serves as an advisory panel to the WHCA CEO on all things regulatory and quality within the assisted living profession and community.
The committee also promotes the nationally-acclaimed Quality Initiatives and Baldrige Quality Awards programs sponsored by our national affiliate, National Center for Assisted Living.The committee is chaired by Wendy Gardner of Merrill Gardens and supported by Vicki McNealley, PhD, MN, RN, Director of Assisted Living for WHCA.

Through its leadership and engagement with federal and state quality improvement initiatives, WHCA and its members are committed to healthy, affordable, and ethical long-term care. The realization of these objectives is, and will continue to be, achieved by our sustained and active engagement with all stakeholders as our quest for continuous quality improvement throughout the evolution of long-term health care.
Washington Health Care Association actively participates in the development and implementation of public policy impacting the providers of skilled nursing and assisted living care and services, and supports its members in achieving compliance with the regulations impacting operations.
