Slightly overpriced, cookies and outside patio amazing. However our visit was cut short just now by the overwhelming smell of vinegar…I appreciate non toxic cleaning but this was just overpowering and not very inviting. We sat down and immediately got up and left. I might be back just for the lemon cookie.

Ordered inside and then took our food and coffee to the outside tables. It was busy Sunday morning and the servers were rushed. Limited selection of items, and the muffins were so-so. Nice outside dining at Wayland Square with good weather. Overall it was satisfactory, and with better selection, quality and attentive service, L´Artisan can be a good choice for weekend breakfast or brunch.

I have been to L'Artisan many times in the morning and the breakfast fare is good. The coffee for what is essentially a bakery is also good (RI is notorious for great bakeries with coffee that makes you retch.)
But I had the orange cranberry muffin - and in it I found two slices of actual orange - with the rind! Is that necessary? I mean - blueberries - yes. Cranberries - yes. But orange rinds? And even if you are going to add them in, at least use oranges without seeds! I thought a piece of my tooth chipped off!
Look, I can understand in an effort to be unique and different (especially on the

Came in last week, was purchasing Nutella and noticed all 8 were expired. I informed ladies at the register and they took them all off the selves. I came back just now and all 8 are back on the shelf and they removed the expiration date.
Will someone at the city of Providence investigate. If they have such a blatant disregard for decency that they went out of their way to remove the expiration date for 8 tubs of Nutella instead of replacing them, what other corners are they cutting at the expense of their customers health?

The coffee was great, if not a little expensive but I'm not surprised since it's located on Wayland Square. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. The Health Inspector was there during our visit, which caused a conflict between the employees and the man that seemed like the owner. If they had just been yelling at the Health Inspector, I would understand, but they were yelling at one employee that the temperatures of the sandwiches in the case was her fault. After the Health Inspector left, the employee that seemed like the owner yelled loud enough for everyone to hear in the cafe, at this employee

I stopped here for breakfast while passing through Providence, and I'm glad I did. The cafe staff is friendly and welcoming, and the menu offered a wide selection of freshly prepared choices. Between my wife and I, our order included an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a bolo, avocado toast, and espresso. We enjoyed everything. They have a small section with packaged goods for sale, too, which always makes me feel like I've found an authentic Italian cafe.

This café & bakery is the perfect example of an amazing small business in RI! The staff is really nice and the bakery and other food options are plentiful! The atmosphere is nice They have indoor as well as outdoor seating! There is plenty of street parking (free and metered) outside/nearby. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!
