Previously in Concord, Villani's Bakery is excited to relocate closer to home - to an area of Charlotte we dub 'Chantizelwood.' Villani's is a New York-Italian style bakery. All orders are served to-go and many of our eats are authentically Italian. But don't let the last name fool you, we also branch out and - if we do say so ourselves - make a pretty mean croissant, macaron, and bialy to name a few.
No matter what we bake, everything at Villani's is made in-house and from scratch. We look forward to serving you! We offer our tried and true mainstays every day; however, we rotate what is in our cases frequently, providing variety based on seasonal freshness and the bakers' creative whims. I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of this bakery until a friend dropped off some cheesecake for us recently. It was so good, that I had to make a trip to Villani's to see what else they had, and buy some desserts to gift to someone else.
Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and there were only a couple of customers ahead of me, but that was fine, because there were so many pastries and desserts in the cases, and cheesecakes in the refrigerator that I needed time to figure out what I wanted. Hi! I was excited to try this place given its high reviews. However, I find this bakery to be mediocre, and their pastries were alright. I enjoyed the crumb cake and the flaky pastry I got (lobster tail I believe). The Sfingi was okay, and they got my latte order wrong. I also had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch macaron and the texture was rough. I would return only to consider buying the crumb cake or lobster tail. I am hesitant to try anything else.
The customer service was very nice. The gentlemen was very nice to explain and describe the pastries to me, and was very patient!

Villani’s is my hands down favorite bakery. First, they make the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had anywhere. And I’m basic, so I order chocolate cake a lot. My less basic husband and friends have loved their chocolate peanut butter cake and their red velvet cakes too. I’ve also enjoyed their cheesecakes as well.
My kids split a brownie when I go there. It’s… um… hearty and delicious. Eating a whole brownie is a challenge.
I also love their scones, which are normally totally out of my comfort zone!

I've received a few recommendations from friends about this spot! It's close to my home but slightly off the main Central shopping area. You'll see it on the other side of hwy 74. The shop itself is small, cute, and smells incredible! Park in the open gravel lot and enjoy your pastries on the picnic tables, no inside seating.
The employees were helpful when I shared it was my first time and wanted to try the "favorites". They recommended the tiramisu, lemon bar, s'mores bar, or slice of cheesecake. There was cookies, puff pastries filled with cream, brownies, macarons

My son told me at the last minute that he would love to have cheesecake for his birthday. I called on Saturday morning and they had the perfect cheesecake for the event. The young lady on the phone was so… helpful and was able to help me purchase the cake for pick up later in the day. I’m so thankful for the leap of faith that ended up being the BEST cheesecake ever. We picked up some other yummy treats to try out and we are very impressed with the quality. Yes, you can see a bit of cake missing. My son couldn’t wait to try it the night before and had to have a second slice right

Wowwwwww - this is an amazing full service bakery. They have every pastry and cake you can imagine, cookies, brownies, cannolis, cream horns, cream puffs, Italian cookies, and homemade cheesecake. They also have several types of croissants, which is what we chose for breakfast. I had a cappuccino, and my husband had a caramel latte. Both were very good and at a nice value. We would love to return (and might go back today to take some goodies home).

Welcoming friendly staff.
Not as busy as I would expect for a bakery in the morning, but steady flow of customers were seen coming and going while I enjoyed my croissant and latte outside.
Chocolate croissant is amazing. My latte wasn't hot enough so next time I will ask for extra hot

Villani's Bakery has the best New York - Italian style deserts in the world... no cap. Every single item here is delicious! My wife and I go weekly for a cannoli or two... or three... or four. Some other items on the menu to checkout is the napoleon, cream puffs, and turnovers. Seriously, Villani's is the best!

Upon arriving the staff welcomed me, and I mentioned this was my first visit so I had to look over ALL their options, as they offer a lot.
Although the bakery items, croissants, etc. looked good we had to go with sweet treats.
So, we ordered a Lemon Bar, one of my favorite items as a kid, a slice of Red Velvet Cake and a few shortbread cookies.
Each bite was amazing, and I can say one of the best Red Velvet Cakes I

The place is easy to get to and has a big lot to park in. There are a few outdoor benches and picnic tables to utilize. We came on a Saturday morning and the place was not crowded, only a few people in line ahead of us.

- lobster tail: crunchier than I expected but I enjoyed it a lot. The cream filling is light, airy, and not overly sweet. Together, my husband described it like eating cereal. With the almost milky creaminess from the whipped cream and the crunchy pastry shell
