Priory Fine Pastries
In the mid-1880s, on the current site of Priory Fine Pastries, a teenage Irish immigrant, David Lytle Clark launched the D.L. Clark Candy Company with $1,000 in capital. By 1890, his manufacturing had outgrown this North Side location and he relocated to McKeesport where his family had a dairy.

During its peak, the Clark Candy Company manufactured daily nearly 2 million Clark Bars, 6 million sticks of gum and more than 150 products including its infamous five cent candy bar.Its signature Clark bar was developed in 1917 to meet the demand of U.S. soldiers for candy in World War I. At his death in 1939, David L. Clark left $1.2 million dollars to eleven area hospitals, including our neighbor Allegheny General.

I’m revising my previous review to be positive. I thought when Prantl’s bought Priory we were losing a little part of our North Shore to a big corporate bakery but so far everything has been good! The bake goods are just as tasty and the customer service has improved immensely!!

I was debating on writing this, but I just have to. I have never received such poor service. I ordered a baby shark cake. I sent them the third picture below and spoke with a rep there to explain I wanted the exact same cake below. I show up to the place and they give me the other cake below. I was basically called a liar and had to fight just to get off the cake. The writing that was on top was something the owner/baker put because there was no name. The color of the cake and everything was wrong !!!!!!! They told me they couldn’t do the fondant because of the time frame, but they could do edible

Sometimes the pastries are delicious! Sometimes they are not good(dry). And it's everything I try. Literally From one week to the next , no consistency. I don't know if different chefs switch every weekend but sometimes it's a 5 rating, sometimes a 3.

We were in town for a concert and the next morning saw Priory Fine Pastries was was within walking distance from our hotel. The staff was very friendly and they had a great selection. My husband said his cannoli was the best he has had in YEARS. My cream puff was amazing as well. We are definitely stopping by again when we leave to take some pastries for our trip home!

We ordered 10 dozen cupcakes in 5 different flavors for our wedding and they were all delicious! All of our guests raved about them and asked where they were from. Kathy was very easy to work with and even delivered our order on a Sunday, when the bakery is closed, for a very worthwhile additional fee.

The Priory Fine Pastries made our wedding cake (red velvet + vanilla custard and berries) and it was absolutely delicious! The guests loved it and they were super responsive via email and phone in the planning leading up to the event (as well as our numerous scheduling snafus due to COVID). The tasting was also so fun and we rented our wedding cake stand from the Priory as well and it was gorgeous! 10/10 recommend.

Amazing! Came to buy for my friend but will be coming back for myself! I have passed here a million times and finally came in. The owner was very friendly and immediately came over to walk me through her selection. My daughter and I shared a blueberry muffins and wow! It was delicious! Even though we aren't gluten free we would take one of these amazing cupcakes any day over a regular one. In conversation I mentioned we were celebrating my daughter's A+ on her spelling test and the owner surprised her with a complimentary chocolate chip cookie. Those are the kinds of small touches that definitely

Best experience working with the Priory for both our Wedding Cake and Rehearsal Dinner Cookies for our wedding weekend 5/14-5/15. Kathy was super friendly and easy to work with. A local, grounded bakery with delicious desserts and beautiful presentations. Can't beat it!

I used to work near the Priory and would pop in regularly. I was nearby today so decided to make a detour and stop again. It was just as good as I remembered! It was my husband's first trip and he wants to go back again soon!
Great pricing, great quality, and great service!!
