Numi wants to be a community space for wellness and self exploration. Sometimes that will look like a yoga class and getting to know your neighbors as you laugh about a pose together. Sometimes that will be sharing a snack over a guest speaker or movie event. Sometimes that will be strolling through our space enjoying local art on the walls.
Sometimes that will be hanging out during our "open hours" when you can study, work, or stretch out with our cozy props and some tea. We hope Numi will be a place that is co-created by our community. A 15 second preview of our studio, instructors, and the community that make Numi Yoga great! Hi! My name is Kelsey Starr.

Services
Here is our summer resource for you to add to your travels, changing schedule, and our modified online schedule. I hope these recorded videos (more will be added over the summer) and audio files will support your practice. Below are (in order): video movement classes, audio movement classes, and then audio meditation offerings.
Our classes are currently listed as Livestream (online via Zoom - details below) or Outdoors (location in parenthesis on the schedule). For Outdoor Classes: Please arrive early and bring your own mat and props with you. Once registered, you'll get an email with exact location and parking information as well as policy for masks, missing class, etc. Classes will be limited to 10 participants for the time being.
We are all on a learning curve when it comes to shifting our lives and relationships into a more technology centric world. And, at Numi Yoga, as we move our classes and community online, we want to do what we can to help you transition with us. Here are some helpful steps for registration, setting up your class, and what you can expect in an online setting with us.
We're interested in expanding our wellness offerings to our whole community and have created a tiered pricing model to allow folks to select in at their financial ability without labels (some students or seniors don't need a financial assist, some neighbors do!). Generally, we have three price points - Sustainer: pay it forward // Supporter: cover your costs // Community: use an assist.
We know that your life, and your yoga practice, can change season to season - so we have some options here. Our class descriptions will help guide you to a style you love and then you'll want to check out a few teachers to find your fit. Learn techniques, alignment options and actions behind your favorite (and not-so-favorite) poses and use these skills to advance your practice and add intention (and choice!) to your movement.

Yoga has changed my life and Numi has made it happen. I went to my first yoga class in 15 years back in Nov. '18 thinking it would be a good mental escape, but thanks to Numi's great instructors and variety of classes, yoga has given me amazing mental and physical benefits.
Owner Kelsey Starr is an outstanding instructor who challenges you to find peace inward, but also to bring peace into the world around us. Numi fosters a sense of community and compassion for others. The instructors have the ability to kick your butt physically and relax your mind emotionally -- with no judgement!

I visited UMD for 10 weeks over the summer, and Numi Yoga made me want to stay here forever. I came here with basically no prior yoga experience, but every instructor at Numi is super helpful, patient, and encouraging- I felt in love with yoga because of them. It's such a heartwarming community, and I feel lucky to be part of it.

Recently moved to the Beltsville area and wanted to find a yoga studio. Found Numi via Yelp and decided to buy the 2 week $28 pass and so happy I did. I've tried 2 classes (Foundations + Flow) and have enjoyed both! Classes are small and instructors are friendly and helpful. Studio is very cute and clean. Only negative: you will have to pay for parking (except Sundays) nearby at the parking meters.
I'll be attending a few more classes to use up my 2 week pass; then I'll probably be purchasing the 10 class package. Good/different options on monthly passes or class packs!

Very rejuvenating, energetic experience. This was my first yoga class in years though I've been practicing at home. I had a gift certificate to visit that the owner honored and promptly answered my questions. The staff was very warm and welcoming, and the class instructor was very supportive in guidance, assistance, and keeping a steady tempo that challenged the attendees. The studio is very clean, has plenty of mats and yoga blocks, and has a non-judgmental atmosphere that makes one feel welcome within the yogi community. I am very thankful I went.

Numi Yoga is such a great addition to College Park! The studio is pretty, clean, and relaxing -- everything you want in a yoga studio. The drop-in class prices are a bit high, but they occasionally run specials on packages, and those end up being a good deal. Instructors have all been great and friendly, though many of them are undergraduate students who graduate or change their schedules so you can't get too attached to any one instructor. Overall it's a lovely little yoga studio and I'm so happy to have it close by.

Its rare to find a yoga studio where each and every teacher takes utmost care of each student, their pain points, alignment, injuries etc. This place almost became a second home. A plethora of different types of yoga classes, and there is some new element in even the same type of classes, making for an exciting and enjoyable yoga journey. Not once was any teacher late for a class or cancel a class. Genuinely knowledgeable teachers, who go beyond the physical elements and also focus on the spiritual elements of yoga, making for a very holistic learning. Sarah and Kelsey are the best teachers who

Wonderful owners. Excellent teachers. There are lots of classes on the calendar, so lots of options if you've got a full schedule but want to find time for yoga. They have a great new-student package that lets you try out a buffet of classes in a two week period to see what's right for you.
Parking is a drag in College Park but that's too be expected. Just come prepared to feed the meters if you drive and leave a little extra time for class.

I have lived in the area for 10 years and have tried most of the yoga studios in College Park, Hyattsville, Takoma Park, and down in the city. Numi is by far my favorite. Kelsey is a fantastic teacher. She is young, but very knowledgable, careful, and extremely generous. The vin and fusion flow classes are both physically challenging and relaxing. Can't recommend this studio highly enough.

This is a world class Yoga Center, I would strongly recommend. Very Patient and very effective. U of Md. Athletics should find a place to help its athletes with this kind of Yoga. Our class was held at the Blue Bear Fountain Park in Riverdale Park, Md. on a Sunday morning. Kelsey , the owner, is quite knowledgeable about technique , breathing, and meditation. Presently located near the Landmark Building on College Avenue, in College Park--she has some room for expansion . I think she makes an excellent yoga instructor

I love this place!!! The owner is super friendly and welcoming. There are a range of classes to attend and signing up online is convenient and easy. The classes are a little pricey for a college town ($18 for a drop in) but there are packages available. The classes I attended - a vinyasa class and a fusion class - were great workouts as opposed to easier yoga stretching classes.

The 14 day deal is worthwhile. Use it to figure out which classes and teachers work for you. This is a new studio with a disorganized energy and a limited schedule. The instructors have some great moves. They just do not have great sequences and overall class choreography. They do give you a decently long shavasana.
Good: free mat use, relatively uncrowded classes, great for beginners, good energy from teachers
Mas o menos: great for beginners, foot traffic/yogi jams at front of studio and back of studio (where mats are stored), parking
Not so good: studio floor not frequently cleaned, latecomers

I'm a student at the University of Maryland, and I recently had to quit dancing, something I've done for 19 years. I'm very picky when it comes to working out -- I hate the gym environment, but often just won't exercise if I don't have someone to motivate me.
My friend asked me to come to a class during Numi's welcome week and I was instantly hooked. I'd only done yoga once or twice before, but I felt immediately at ease in Kelsey's classes. I'm a regular visitor to the DC area and was looking for a yoga place near my dear friends' house. I am so excited that I stumbled upon Numi Yoga!!
This studio is beautiful! I tried to make the Saturday 9:30am yoga class, but did not arrive on time... Showing up more than ten minutes in to a yoga class is a disturbance and rude. I did not want to be that person! So I waited at a coffee shop nearby until class was done, just to check out the space.
The boutique had yoga pants, tanks, shirts, sports bras, unique jewelry, candles, cards, art, coloring books and other miscellaneous items
