Join Yassah and myself on this light-hearted 3 day 3 night adventure. In the heart of Harper's Ferry on Halloween weekend. With spirits and shenanigan's afoot we'll discuss balancing Yin and Yang, Light and Darkness, the Spiritual and Material World. We'll flow, grow, laugh, smile, journal, meditate, relax and reflect and soak in what the universe has to offer.
Leaving with experiences and tools that can help us carry the balance we create into our day to day lives.

If you're looking for some basic full body yoga movements that link mind, body and breath, while gently waking us up to this reality, this is where I start. These Sun Salutations are the bases to my yoga asana practice. Here we open and stabilize and build up our Earth. Floating Yoga is a vinyasa flow style yoga practice that helps to build strength and flexibility in not only the body but mind and spirit/breath as well.
To me, meditation is sustained focus. It can be done anywhere, many ways, and in many different forms. Maybe it's running, a sport, even playing video games. It deals with how long and in depth we can focus our awareness. In moving meditations that adds some form of conscious action as well. Moving meditations and still meditations give us a different experience with different skills to develop within each.
I played violin, guitar, and was in a band for several years. That's where my fascination for sounds and frequencies began. I started researching how sound effects us and is intertwined in this multi dimensional reality. I slowly bought bowls and observed the responses and effects each one had on myself and others.
The body is this mass of what we call flesh, bone, and fluids that we have accumulated over our lifetime. These poses and practices are a reference to see how we do things in our life off the mat. From how and where we hold energy/tension in our bodies, to how we transition from one pose to the next; From one destination to another.

I've been to a few different yoga classes before, but now I've found Karen I won't be going to any others. She's a fantastic teacher, and I saw so much improvement in my yoga technique doing her classes. She does a range of different routines from tough to super relaxing, and always made sure everyone was at ease and enjoying the class whether it was their first one or thousandth one. I'd highly recommend her no matter what level you're at. And whatever you do - don't miss out on the head massage at the end. Amazing!

Karen stayed at Nine Coliving as our in-house yoga teacher for 4,5 months during our high season. She did great! Her classes are very clear and fun and Karen has the great ability to adapt to her students. At Nine we have so many different people, from people who have never done yoga to people that are very advanced and a lot of the time they are in the same class. Karen was able to make everyone happy, and not only because of her amazing head massage at the end of the class đ on Wednesdayâs she taught a meditation and restorative class that was very popular with all of our guests. We met Karen in Nine Coliving in Tenerife, in 2018, and started to attempt her daily yoga morning classes... The best yoga classes we have ever had! The beautiful place and vibes helped but her kindness and calm teaching what she knows and loves so much would make our mornings!! For 2 weeks we started everyday in the best way possible and we can just thank The Floating Yogi for the amazing yoga classes she provided us. I have special needs when it comes to exercise, as I have scoliosis, and Karen was super knowledge and careful about everything! Can't wait to repeat yoga classes with this beautiful

Having attended two weeks of Yoga classes with Karen, I learned about the benefits of each pose for my body, how to improve and maintain my practice, and most importantly how each class helps to increase awareness of how I felt about myself and my environment.
Karen's classes are a must if you wish to start practising yoga or improve upon your current practice. Namaste

Karen is a fantastic teacher, calm, confident and patient. I used to be really anxious about yoga, worried about âbeing the bestâ and âdoing it rightâ but with Karen I feel totally at ease to listen to my body and no matter what happens in the class, if I canât balance or fall out of the poses I know itâs going well and Iâm learning to work within my capability and Iâm learning in a safe and supported environment
She has a soothing but firm tone and a keen eye for adjustments and adaptations to help you get more out of the class. Every class always leaves me refreshed, rejuvenated

I met Karen in Tenerife and our daily yoga sessions together were the best part of my stay! Iâd been practicing yoga before, but my month with Karen strengthened my practice both mentally and physically. Karen is great at adapting the level to her students, giving the newbies support and the more advanced yogis some challenge - all in the same class! She is a good guide for connecting the physical to the emotional and the spiritual. I also loved her readings at the end of class. Altogether an inspiring person that I recommend taking one or many classes with!

Karen is an amazing yoga teacher. I have had many 1:1s with her and she has helped me improve my yoga practice, and strength and flexibility incredibly.
She is very good at picking up on some of the bad habits I have obtained previously and suggesting adaptations to poses when I can't get into them (just yet!).
I regularly run marathons and ultra marathons, so Karen has customised her sessions to work with what runners need and around any injuries.
Karen is kind and patient, and I would recommend her to anyone that wants to improve in yoga specifically, or just become stronger and more flexible

Thank you! Karen is such a perfect yoga instructor. To be honest yoga has never really been "my thing", I don't know why exactly but I never fell confortable doing it. When I joined my first class with Karen I was like "hmmm... just once and then we'll see". Well... I'm clearly not a yoga pro yet, but Karen's nice, friendly and 100% non judging teaching made me come back to the class again and again and I could see my progression and this kept me motivated. I sincerly recommend Karen (even to those who would think "yoga is not their thing" ;) )

I was really nervous to try yoga in a group setting so Karen gave me an amazing one on one class! She was really friendly and I felt like I could just chat to her about what I found difficult. She gave me lots of postures to help with my back problems and showed me easier options for the postures I find hard in a class. I feel confident enough to try a group class now and would love more lessons from Karen in the future! Would definitely reccomend her to anyone wanting practice yoga.
